Will Ramos is the one that introduced me to Sleep Token, with his cover of "Hypnosis." I will always be grateful to him for doing that cover, because they're a band that I never knew I needed in my life.
I've been playing drums for 13 years. The thing that got me hooked was their drummer. Extremely clean and nasty. Definitely my favorite band of 2023 so far. Can't wait to hear what they push out next.
What stands out for me is just how smart the songs are. They’re written and arranged with such an intelligence that draws in the listener and doesn’t let go. They keep you wanting more, and that’s the genius of their songwriting. I just discovered them a couple weeks ago and I’ve listened to all their songs and there hasn’t been one that I wanted to skip.
I am an old school metalhead at almost 50. My 19yr old daughter got me on to them at the end of last year and I liked them, but their latest releases hit that g spot that hasn't been tickled since the death of Dimebag (R.I.P.). So I shared it with my old mates and we are all listening to them almost daily at this point. Sleep Token are doing amazing and I hope they can keep this energy up without an early burnout. The metal scene has been needing this for a long while.
Another thing to consider is their playlist reach. The Summoning was topping A LOT of Spotify's metal playlists. That alone is huge exposure. All it takes is one person to listen to anyone of their tracks for that monthly listener to go up. I don't think they're juicing, but the stars have definitely lined up for them lol.
There's a portion of the metal community that is so braindead when it comes to numbers that they think any amount of popularity is suddenly a bad thing that means the band in question is selling out. They never stop to consider that, for once, the band in question has actually managed to reach a lot of people that enjoy it, or that people are becoming more and more accepting of metal in general. Metal is by far one of the largest, most diverse genres in the music industry, and I'm honestly glad that more unique bands are getting a lot of exposure in the grand scheme of things because it paints that picture better.
They got big in a short time because they released ridiculously good songs in short period of time. This band deserves all the attention they are getting. The music is top tier.
What you are seeing here is a result of perfect album cycle execution: * They've made a series of perfect singles. * They released the first single right before their first gig in tour. * The tour is including Northlane and Architects. That's a literally match made in heaven. But all in all, the perfect music is what really matters.
Metal has always been this way..people want to gatekeep their underground faves and once they see some growth fans jump ship and call them sellouts. A tale as old as time. I have fully contributed to those spotify numbers. Ive been listening to them a shit ton to get my day going. Puts me in a good mood. Im so glad to see them getting well deserved success
Some people are just that kind of crazy paradox . They want the "clout" (? does not make sense to me ) for knowing obscure bands and singers , yet lament , that their genre isn't getting the popularity and charts it deserves . Without even knowing it , and before the trend even took off , some metal fans were already hipsters
I never got this. I guess I could see for more fringe artists that, once become mainstream, their sound tends to change, but that's not always for the negative and it doesn't always happen. But dude. If a band I love starts to come up, I'm super thrilled for them because they deserve it!
I’m the opposite, I don’t necessarily want my fav underground bands to get famous to the point of getting a major record deal because that usually will cause their sound to change for the worst due to execs and stuff. And there is a lot of people who casually listen to metal now so it’s almost like metal fans got so used to being the underdogs they’re afraid to be a mainstream genre again and get mad that people aren’t as dedicated as them. The way I see it is that people gatekeep because a lot of newcomers miss the “point” or fundamentals of the subgenre and may not be fully devoted fans to metal yet(generalizing.)
@@SuicideSeason4545 @Paladin1034 I can remember being like 13 or 14 and being this way...I was (still am) a big slipknot fan. They got super popular around that time and their sound changed. I refused to even give subliminal verses a chance. But now I just look at it like this, bands will inevitably play with their sound. Its probably boring as shit to keep making the same stuff over and over. On top of that, they didnt start a band to struggle. This is their livelihood and they deserve to make a living. Metal and metal heads have been misunderstood for forever. I get that.. But I like the idea of normies liking metal songs and becoming more understanding..really hearing the lyrics instead of judging by saying its just screaming. Or understanding that it takes skill to do what these musicians do.
It's been a really long time since a band has just smacked me upside the head and I've totally dug almost everything they've released. These guys are that for me right now.
Started listening to them back when they released "Jaws" and man, to this day it's one of the bands I listen to the most. I'm glad they're finally getting a larger recognition, regardless of the weird ass thirst traps lmao
4 months later 2.7 mil. They went up almost another million listeners in 4 months 🤯. Love all the recognition they’re getting and they deserve it all and more! But damn it’s hard to get tickets to shows😅
I remember hearing The Offering when they dropped it and I've loved them ever since, seen them live multiple times. I can see these guys becoming absolutely huge, their live setup is really cool, personally I think they could end up having some incredible stage shows down the line. They're also very unique, something which is very hard to come by in music these days. I'm a fan of MANY different genres and for me they scratch that itch of blending them seamlessly without sounding like they're trying to be someone else, it's always still distinctly 'Sleep Token'. Hats off to them.
@iamcodywilliams an update on this comment. Reading your comment really got me thinking... well, what would happen if I actually did this? I actually found an online publication and have now started writing articles/reviews about music. I'm absolutely loving every minute of it and I wanted to thank you for putting this thought into my head! Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours ❤
TikTok has a crazy amount of pull with monthly listeners and plays. Ghost is another band that had this - Mary on a Cross was a B Side on a random single dropped a couple of years back, but it went big on TikTok recently and on Spotify it outperformed any track from their latest album even as they were getting major airplay and performing on talk shows. Still their biggest song in terms of plays by a mile, which is remarkable considering it was one of the lowest until TikTok randomly got its hands on it.
Sleep Token throws me back in time to when I discovered Tool. Their Lyricism isn't up to par to Tool, but they have that intrigue that Tool gave me. Vessel I's voice is amazing, the instrumentals are beautiful, the mystery is amazing.
Yep, definitely feel that. The first time I heard Tool I was like, "ooohh...hello, what is that?" Same deal with Sleep Token. It's that beautiful sweet spot of talent, depth, fidelity, and just damn listenable music.
Yes 100%, one of their songs came on randomly in a playlist when i was listening to them at work and i thought, man this gives me TOOL vibes. Ive been hooked ever since. Their songs take you on a journey and its so refreshing!
I had never heard of Sleep Token until seeing your reaction to The Summoning. But holy shit have they become my favorite band. I have gone back through their catalog and have not found a bad song. They are such a unique band, and to say that in 2023 is incredible
@@elaceyb no pervert. Dave Gahan is hot. Peter Steele is hot. This modern Lewis Capaldi, James Arthur, and this plonker from Sleep Token crap? Skin crawling causing perversion.
You mentioned Lorna Shore, and I think that was another avenue for people to be introduced to Sleep Token. I had not heard of them until I saw that Will Ramos covered their music with his clean singing. That opened by ears to them and, judging from various reactors picking it up over the last few months I would not be at all surprised if Sleep Token perhaps rode some of the coat-tails of Lorna Shore trilogy. Not sure how much of an influence there was, and Sleep Token has to grab and keep the ears of the new listeners, but perhaps Lorna Shore -> Will Ramos served as a "gateway drug."
Will was my gateway drug too! His clean vocals on Hypnosis blew my mind and I’d been listening to it on repeat trying to learn it. I got distracted doing laundry and autoplay started playing Sleep Token’s original… and I was done for. Sundowning ended up on repeat for a week and a half before listening to One and Two, and I’m still catching up with the new singles and This Place Will Become Your Tomb. Vessel made me feel like a chorus geek again and it’s entirely Will’s fault 😂
I must admit that The Charismatic Voice and her collab with The Extremely Awesome Voice (aka Will Ramos of Lorna Shore) made me aware of Sleep Token. Then, I fell, head over heels, in love with Ne Obliviscaris. Tino posted some IG-reels with Take Me Back To Eden, so I figured I'd give the entire album a listen, right? Then I found myself walking to the grocery store, listening and enjoying the album, realising I'd walked past the grocery store and found myself 1,5 km from the store (in the opposite direction 😅) and kinda really didn't want to end my walk until I'd listened through the whole thing. Have to mention that I also hid for a while, trying not to cry (I failed and I cried) from the overwhelming amount of recognised feelings in "Are You Really Ok". Whoa. But anyway, yeah. They're good 😍
What got me hooked was their ethereal but also heavy sound and Vessel’s variety and range in vocals. Also they make such masterpieces, I’ve been listening to this band for a few weeks and I already love them to the moon and back. They seriously deserve all the growth they’ve been getting at the minute Edit a year later: my point still stands, I still love them to death lmao
I saw and heard Sleep Token and Bad Omens for the first time live at Rocklahoma 2022 and now they’re 2 of the main bands I listen to. Sleep Token didn’t even play on the big stage there, now they’re probably 10x more popular than they were just a few months ago. They only had around 200k monthly listeners back last September
Vessel has spoken on how he and the rest of the band don't believe in utilizing tools from only one genre. I think this is their "secret weapon," so to speak. I could go and listen to bands such as Architects or Bad Omens and have a great time, but in the end I know what I'm gonna get. My favorite times from last year was when I discovered Sleep Token through Nik's reaction to Alkaline, and went on to jam to every last one of their tracks, including covers. You cannot go into one of their songs as a new fan and know what to expect. It's incredible. There's also the fact that there's a story being told through the tracks and albums. Though, that's mostly reserved for those who are die-hard fans or becoming one. This means that veteran listeners are always tuning back in to get the "next episode," while others are tuning I'm for the variety. TikTok helped to be a catalyst for all this too. Though, not in the best ways sometimes (looking at you, pointless thirsttraps).
I'd say Vore is probably their heaviest song out of the new releases. The whole first minute of the song is pure unbroken heaviness, and there are still heavy parts throughout the song after that. Eh, I guess it's somewhat relative. Either way, I'm loving every bit of music they're releasing right now. These guys are insanely good.
I heard about them from seeing them open for In This Moment, and I haven't been able to stop listening to them sense. SO FREAKING GOOD!!! OMG. Hearing Vessels voice live changed my soul.
I would say their tour with Architects at 2022 would have given them a big boost in the UK and Australia. I first discovered them on that Architects tour, and their now one of my top 5 bands.
I discovered them casually on Spotify in 2020 and I thought immediately that the listeners didn’t match the masterpieces I was listening to. They are incredible with songwriting and so talented, so that’s simply the secret in addition to good marketing/social decisions. I hope they’ll grow to become a giant band, they deserve it.
I do not think sleep token is really rock or metal it is like progressive pop. To me that is how they got mainstream attention with marketability. They and ghost are very similaar in how they are getting over with today's society, but i will always be a hard rock, nu metal, and metalcore person.
First heard them from you. They click all the switches for me... progressive, heavy, orchestrated, catchy. They're just all around a good band with a mind for writing, with excellent musicianship. I could listen to them all day.
I saw Sleep Token live at FF Festival this year. I was very drunk and stoned at that point, but I was literally FLASHED by their live performance and the very unique vibe they created! I SO hope they will be there again next year!
I’m obsessed with this band and wish they’d come to the US. So glad they’re getting the recognition they deserve. Found them from their album this place will become your tomb and “fall for me” gave me literal chills, when vessel screams “oh god I wish you were here” fucking rattled me bc I was in a long distance relationship. Just gave me absolute body chills and shivers. Will always be special, I remember where I was when I heard it and what I was wearing my eyes welling up with tears.
@@deborahsue702 I saw. The closest place they’re coming to me is like 7 hrs away. 😩 I’m in eastern louisiana and the closest they’re coming is Dallas 7-8 hour drive.
I just got my ticket for Denver. It's an 8ish hour drive for me. The ticket alone broke me and I'm gonna be eating ramen for weeks, but I'm going 😂❤️ I also don't have hotel money so me and my sis who taking me will likely drive up watch show then drive back no sleep. Totally worth it.
I fell in love with this band about a year ago and I was buzzing to catch them touring with Architects. I love both bands, and had never seen either of them live so it was a fantastic night to say the least. I’m so happy that the band is blowing up like they deserve and I cannot wait to see what they come up with next. Im already calling it, Take Me Back to Eden will be the album of 2023
"Gods" is one of their hardest-hitting songs. Wish they made more music like that. But I'm glad to see them exploring genres. It's crazy watching this in real-time. 🤯🤯📈📈
I discovered Sleep Token at a concert I went to see In This Moment in Reno. They were one of the opening acts but they actually blew me away with their performance. I’d never experienced something like that. Sleep Token is something you have to experience in person at least once.
Ughhh I can imagine it's quite the experience and I hope I get the chance one day. The only negative about these new songs being some of the best shit I have EVER heard is that people are learning the lyrics in like record time and you can't hear Vessel live at all because everyone in the crowd wants to prove they know the song by singing insanely loud 😅 but seriously, In This Moment and Sleep Token at the same show?! That had to be incredible.
I've BEEN saying Sleep Token was gonna be big but everyone kept sleeping on 'em, I'm so, so happy they're finally getting the spotlight and recognition they deserve. 👏🏽W O R S H I P.
I heard Chokehold on Pandora earlier this year and really liked it. Had never listened to Sleep Token before. Some of the members on the Alter Bridge Nation were raving about them so I checked out their other new singles. The Summoning blew me away. I listened to Sundowning and their second album. Like Spiritbox the more I listen the more I like them.
Sleep Token literally deserves all the success. Everyone trying to progress the metal community has said we need something unique or game changing to bring in more people and THIS IS FUCKING IT. Lorna Shore is dropping ballads, which is badass! No other deathcore band is going to do it. Because of how intriguing these bands are, reactors are clinging to them and spreading these bands across continents. Their media presence isn’t solely based on shock factor, because if they didn’t have skill, there wouldn’t be the recognition they have now. I look forward to other bands to find their inspiration to try new shit and progress the genre! 😁🤘
The Summoning is everything we want in a song, and then went literally into a funky almost Black Keys tune and I love. Every. Single. Second. Of. The. Song!!!
I started listening to Sleep Token in July 2022, at the recommendation of a friend; then, a few months later, saw them open for In This Moment (and they were fantastic- can’t wait to see them do a headlining show sometime), and have since been progressively (yes, pun intended 🤪😂) getting more and more obsessed with them. I love their whole discography, and I already had the instrumental versions of both their albums on pretty much constant repeat bc it’s legit my favorite stuff to listen to while doing homework for my grad school program. Soothes me enough to keep me calm and not distracted from my work but also excites me enough to keep me from falling asleep mid-assignment- no other band can quite do that the way they do!! So I was already fully on board before all of these singles started dropping, but I love all of them and I am SO excited that these songs are helping propel them to a new level of recognition that they so HEAVILY deserve. Worship 😁🤘
Okay but about the metal scene turning on them thing, what is it about the metal community that that happens so much? what always stopped me from becoming more of a metalhead was just seeing the constant toxicity and hate on any band that gets big and the aggressive superiority complexes in so many people. Like I know that's not all metalheads, or unique to them, but there's a SIGNIFICANT amount more gatekeeping in metal than I've seen in any other genre and it always makes it hard for me to really get into it. Like even just in these comments there's lots of people just shitting on Sleep Token for no other reason other than just not really enjoying them, and I rarely see that in any other types of music.
I think Sleep Token, like many other bands that have blown up in the past years like Spiritbox and Lorna Shore, are really good at marketing in the new era of social media. They understand the importance of Tiktok and soundbites. When they released their first album, they completely ignored the "traditional way" of releasing music, inatead opting for releasing a single every week, that way you capitalize on the audience's attention for much longer. They are doing the same right now, dropping singles out of nowhere when they know not many artists release music at the beginning of the year, it's a high-risk strategy to release an album early in the year, but if you dropfeed by releasing singles every couple of weeks, you end up building hype. They understand this, that's why they've been so succesful, and righlty so. I've been listening to them since 2018 and I'm very happy to see them grow this much.
Gotta say it's so weird being a fan from the beginning like 2017/18, I've seen them in rooms of about 40-100 people with their first EP, even went to the room below show and then saw them recently and it's crazy how much a band can just blow up in such little time.... feel abit like I'd discovered a gem back then but now everyone knows 🤣
I feel this, but with the band Avatar. I saw them when they were still opening, tickets were $17 and you could easily get front row! I got so many fist bumps from them 😂
In the 4 months since this video they have boosted to 2.7m. I guess that is what you get when you put out quality content that can appeal to a WIDE range of music people. My sister likes pop and light rock and she like Sleep Token after I told her to listen to them.
Gods by sleep token is just straight screaming with a break of some soft singing then gets insanely heavy again thats their heaviest song in my opinion
i think the reason that people don't consider it heavy is because there's no real dynamic in the track until the soft section. Whereas with The Summoning there's a short intro before the riff comes in, creating intrigue and mysteriousness
As a huge YES and Porcupine Tree fan, my niece decided to introduce me to Sleep Token. Amazing musicians with strong rock bass and rhythm guitar and progressive rock guitar and keyboards on top. The vocals are inspiring and the lyrics draw you into the atmospheric melodies and dramatic build ups with satisfying meaty crescendos! In short Sleep Token is great!!
To be honest, but I’m the summer when they opened up for in this moment and nothing more I have never heard of them. When they played, it was the most beautiful thing I heard. Hearing them live is such a different feeling and got me hooked. Got home that night and started listening and was so hooked how many people didn’t know who they were especially me. Had one of their records end up on vinyl in a local record store and was shocked. I’m so proud of them and glad they are getting such amazing recognition. Vessels voice with the bands tunes just does something to the soul
Never heard of them until one of my friends shared the Summoning on Facebook and decided to check it out and……. I HAVEN’T STOPPED LISTENING TO THEM SINCE. Blood Sport (both versions) is such a BEAUTIFULLY written song. It’s perfect…. And don’t get me started on Vessel’s fucking voice, HOLY SHIT! Im pretty much a rap listener (NF, Joyner Lucas, Kydd, etc.) and im addicted to Sleep Token now. Their songs are very well written from a lyrical aspect.
I think the reason why they're really blowing up so much is because the style of their music in the creativity and how they present themselves and put themselves together is what is very fascinating and if you really pay attention to the lyrics of their music they touched on some very emotional topics that a lot of people can relate to and I speak for myself when I say they helped me reconnect with a lot of emotions that I thought I lost a long time ago I thank them so much for that
So stoked for these guys. Literally been my favourite band for the past 4 years. The amount of growth they have had this year is insane and I couldn't be happier for them.
I’ve never been a metal head but after someone described ST as “Hozier going through a metal phase” I tried it out and was hooked. The lyrics are visceral, the music perfectly arranged and always keeps you on your toes. Just all in all amazing band.
I love how you ended the video, people over complicate things way too much. People enjoy their music, and I’m happy they are finding success and I look forward to their new songs 🔥
Stumbled across your The Summoning reaction video a bit ago and immediately fell in love with Sleep Token's music. I recently saw them live and they put on an amazing show.
Dude that’s insane. I’ve been following Sleep Token since 2017 and just a few months ago they were at like 220k monthly followers on Spotify and now they are at 1.8M
Coming over here at the end of March! I found out about them on tiktok in January, and I honestly just think it was the trifecta of thirst traps for Summoning, the mystery of what their deal is, and highly accessible metal. I'm a big metalcore fan, so when I found out out that the funky baby-making sound featured in the thirst traps was just the last 2 mins of a 6 min song, I had to listen. There's some good breakdowns, but what's most notable is how they effortlessly pack in 3 or 4 genres of music in one song. I think that really appeals to people who only kinda like metal, so it's accessible. Then when you binge their discography and realize that is a common tool used in most of their song. That's what's been keeping them as the only band I've been listening to since January. Plus, you gotta love the lore behind the band's concept, and how most of the songs are about the God they call Sleep, and all of the vessels relationships with him and each other is 🤌🏻
Great video! I had never heard of sleep token before January, but they were the 1st warm-up band of the Architects Germany tour. So went to the show, not having any expectations once sleep token get on stage and damn, Vesels voice just got to me. So after the show I go back to my hotel and go on youtube to deep dive into the band. Only to notice chokehold being uploaded literaly like a hour before the 1st show of the tour. So basically we heard the summoning and chokehold live before it even was up yet to the public, which I thought was cool. So basically I got hooked on them at the tail end of their underground status and now it's just been wild seeing the growth and numbers, but still looking forward to that next album!
In the case of Spiritbox I think their album being not particularly special other than 3 or 4 of the singles (and Yellowjacket) contributed to the "they're not as good as I thought" mentality more than anything else.
So, I found the band due to your how to “sleep token” in 39 today. Somehow missed this whole release. Huge fan of bands like spiritbox, but never had a mention in my feed or radio. Not until today. Mind blowing.
Something to keep in mind is that they toured Germany together with architects and myself just found out about them there and haven’t stopped listening to them since then.
I'm on the newer end of discovery for them, they ended up in my discover weekly on spotify probably because I listen to architects and northlane who they're touring with. Anyways I heard Jaws on it about 6 months maybe a little longer ago now, and that's all it took for me to fall in love and dive into their discography! The only regret I have is not having listened to them sooner! They absolutely blow my mind, and I cannot fathom the people saying they suck...I think you have to be afraid of emotions to hate this band. They are honestly chef's kiss for me
I found sleep token listening to them live at a last minute, email list invite only, concert for Nothing More. Was blessed with their presence with an extra long hour set. It was THE BEST
Metalbirb was spot on when he said that genre blending bands and metal collabs are going to be huge. It exposes people to metal who would otherwise never be interested. I completely understand the “gatekeeping” culture of metalheads and I think part of that is generational. But I am excited for the genre to keep growing for many years to come! Sleep Token is also great because of the sheer talent of each member of the band. Vessel’s vocals are just on another level and very unique and their drummer is phenomenal! I really hope I get to see them live soon!
the biggest thing i think they have going for them is how well they are incorporating genres into their music. the singer sounds like a Better (IMO) version of the guy from Bastille. its really opened up their music to people who aren't really into Metal, but into rock/alt rock or other.
Spotify gave me The Offering years ago and blew me away. They were on around 200k listeners then. Now sitting around 3.2mil and I’ve seen every Australian performance they’ve done
Their rise to fame in a matter of weeks is unlike anything I've seen. If these guys keep releasing such killer singles I think all the bands they're opening for will be opening for them in 2024.
Other than massively thirsting for vessel I think they're so unique. I love his voice and the drummer is amazing. I think the mark of a truly great band is sounding better live than you do on the album and from what I've seen on video they do.
Chokehold appeared at the top of my Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify and it was the only song that stuck with me :3 Had not heard of them before that, now planning on diving into their discography.
You overlooked one very important contribution- I first discovered Sleep Token when you did a reaction video to 'Alkaline' and I've been hooked since. Tell them you deserve some royalties over there for all of the new listeners you likely brought in
So, I recently got into this band like 8 months ago.. and I’ve been inlove since. Listening to their whole discography and loved every single one. I don’t see why there’s so much hate towards this band. They are killing it. Don’t be salty,
I can't say I'm super into most of what Sleep Token has released, but hearing The Night Does Not Belong To God for the first time late at night was a transcendental experience, and Gods was one of the first 8 string songs I learned. I'm glad they're getting exposure, they definitely deserve it.
‘The night does not belong to God’ will stay with me as a standout moment of theirs. It just doesn’t feel like there will ever be anything quite like that again from them with the direction these recent singles are going.

What you are seeing here is a result of perfect album cycle execution:
* They've made a series of perfect singles.
* They released the first single right before their first gig in tour.
* The tour is including Northlane and Architects. That's a literally match made in heaven.
But all in all, the perfect music is what really matters.
i see what you did there
Metal has always been this way..people want to gatekeep their underground faves and once they see some growth fans jump ship and call them sellouts.
Yep. It becomes fanatic possession over a band.
They are mediocre at best I’m not sure why they are so popular
Started listening to them back when they released "Jaws" and man, to this day it's one of the bands I listen to the most. I'm glad they're finally getting a larger recognition, regardless of the weird ass thirst traps lmao
Lmao shit it worked for deftones 🤣🤣 n oi t saying that they're alike I've only heard one part oi f a song in tiktok but aye seggs sells
Jaws and Nazareth are so good
Exactly when I found them as well
Jaws was my first as well, then I just had to backtrack. Lol
JAWS is my shit! 🖤🙏
Hats off to them.
you should be a journalist for a music company I enjoyed reading this
This was really nice to read, thank you very much! :)
Yep, they are not just this or that, they are Sleep Token. Period.
I think The Summoning, in and of itself, is enough to explain everything - it is an incredible song, one that we may be hearing for years.
Tik Tok is your answer.
But Sleep Token deserve all the love they get, They are in their own league
That’s how I found out about all the new singles. They were putting them out faster than I could listen to them.
definitely a league of their own. my prediction, no one will mention them in a few months.

This is EXACTLY what I said when I started listening to Sleep Token. They give me the same visceral reaction and storytelling that Tool did for me!
IMO there better than tool. Tool is absolute shite
Their songs take you on a journey and its so refreshing!
yo thats the best way I could ever here it described. I'm not so much captivated, but super interested in what the hell is next
I had never heard of Sleep Token until seeing your reaction to The Summoning. But holy shit have they become my favorite band. I have gone back through their catalog and have not found a bad song. They are such a unique band, and to say that in 2023 is incredible
They give me such Deftones vibes sometimes, but they are completely unique at the same time. Absolutely love them.
SAME. It’s the sensuality factor.

They're definitely like deftones in the fact that they're foundation is in metal but they surpass the boundaries of the genre stylistically.
Got into Sleep Token in 2017 with Nazareth. Glad they finally made a huge breakthrough, they deserve all attention

Will is the man for that same story with me!
That’s actually how I found sleep token 😅 but that would make sense
Yes that was when I first heard of Sleep Token too
That's exactly how I discovered Sleep Token and I've been obsessed with them ever since!
They're good 😍
They are long overdue for the recognition they deserve
What got me hooked was their ethereal but also heavy sound and Vessel’s variety and range in vocals. Also they make such masterpieces, I’ve been listening to this band for a few weeks and I already love them to the moon and back. They seriously deserve all the growth they’ve been getting at the minute
Edit a year later: my point still stands, I still love them to death lmao
I saw and heard Sleep Token and Bad Omens for the first time live at Rocklahoma 2022 and now they’re 2 of the main bands I listen to. Sleep Token didn’t even play on the big stage there, now they’re probably 10x more popular than they were just a few months ago. They only had around 200k monthly listeners back last September
They are just a flat out, good band. With a different sound. It’s refreshing to hear something different. I’m a fan.
Listening to “The Summoning” and “Chokehold” every day. I’m guilty being one of the new listeners! 🙌
I’m a new listener, too. It’s Granite and Alkaline for me
I heard about them from seeing them open for In This Moment, and I haven't been able to stop listening to them sense. SO FREAKING GOOD!!! OMG. Hearing Vessels voice live changed my soul.
I would say their tour with Architects at 2022 would have given them a big boost in the UK and Australia.
I first discovered them on that Architects tour, and their now one of my top 5 bands.
Not just that, but their tour with Northlane in Australia.
they also toured in germany with architects and northlane in january 23.
I didn't like them at first just like bad omens but they both grew on me... Now I'm obsessed with both bands...imagine a sleep token/bad omens tour
I do not think sleep token is really rock or metal it is like progressive pop. To me that is how they got mainstream attention with marketability. They and ghost are very similaar in how they are getting over with today's society, but i will always be a hard rock, nu metal, and metalcore person.
I feel like Hardy should be getting more love. Countrycore is an untapped market that can bring metal and country together
Sleep Token is the most exciting band in recent memory for me. Such an incredible sound.
They’re coming 🎉
@@deborahsue702 I saw. The closest place they’re coming to me is like 7 hrs away. 😩 I’m in eastern louisiana and the closest they’re coming is Dallas 7-8 hour drive.
I just got my ticket for Denver. It's an 8ish hour drive for me. The ticket alone broke me and I'm gonna be eating ramen for weeks, but I'm going 😂❤️ I also don't have hotel money so me and my sis who taking me will likely drive up watch show then drive back no sleep. Totally worth it.
They are going to Michigan. I wish they come to ohio!!
🤯🤯📈📈
Let me tell you about the new song ❤
👏🏽W O R S H I P.
lol now we will have posers sayin they awesome yet we been with them since the start i hate those people

@@mentaltelepathy24I've only just started listening to them, and I won't be listening to them again
'take me back to eden' was my first sleep token song from your video. ive fallen completely in love with all their music.
My favourite band of all time. Im sooo happy for them. Ive never cried so much to any band ever and no music has ever helped me so much.
As a Sleep Token fan from the release of Sundowning, I feel like a proud father seeing them gain so much attention! Worship!
Saw these guys support Architects in may last year and they blew me away. Been listening to them since. incredible band
I love how you ended the video, people over complicate things way too much. People enjoy their music, and I’m happy they are finding success and I look forward to their new songs 🔥

Proud to be a fan of theirs since 2019, and I love that that more and more people hear what I hear in their music.
Plus, you gotta love the lore behind the band's concept, and how most of the songs are about the God they call Sleep, and all of the vessels relationships with him and each other is 🤌🏻
Love that they're in the spotlight at this point in their career. Excitedly awaiting for the rest of this album.
Mind blowing.
yo they just toured with architects across europe, saw them in germany at the start of last month! EPIC

@@bigrob966 I am loving it!
I found sleep token listening to them live at a last minute, email list invite only, concert for Nothing More. Was blessed with their presence with an extra long hour set. It was THE BEST
Just found Sleep Token a few weeks ago...love Alkaline and the new stuff is quite enjoyable.
As of today they have 3.7M monthly listeners 😊 Worship ❤
the biggest thing i think they have going for them is how well they are incorporating genres into their music. the singer sounds like a Better (IMO) version of the guy from Bastille. its really opened up their music to people who aren't really into Metal, but into rock/alt rock or other.
I saw them live a few weeks ago,and i didn’t know them before, but they R AWESOME !! Especially live !!!❤❤❤ basist made Great performance !!❤
I saw them live this past summer and was immediately hooked, love this band and so happy for their success
The awesome thing about Sleep Token is you don't have to separate the art from the artist. It's all art.

Such an amazing band! I just got turned onto them a few weeks ago and I’m blown away!
