any advice on what to do for a missing bolt/nut for the trench hawk? lost one a couple years ago and havent been able to find the same type needed to reassemble, its a wall hanger as of right now. ive contacted customer support a couple times and never got a response. thanks.
Many yeas ago I purchased a machete from Cold Steel. The blade sheared off at the handle. I took some pics and sent them to customer support, and offered to send them the broken product. They immediately sent me a new one, no charge, and told me to keep the broken one. Excellent customer service. Thank you Cold Steel.

Considering their markup profit margin is probably pretty high given they're made overseas qirh low labor costs, it didn't cost them much.
Was it one of their cheaper flat black ones for practice? Cuz I bought a flat black Spartan and it was a great machete.

I have bought cold steel products for years, I have never been disappointed in their performance, especially when considering price point for what you get.

That, my friend, is a GOD knife. I’m so happy to see Cold Steel continuing in Lynn Thompson’s foot steps. I was worried things would go down hill when ownership changed. I still miss seeing him in all the videos, but that sweet young lady sure does take some of the sting out of it!😊
Lynn is like a Jedi, he’s always with us, especially when you whip out a nice sharp blade. 😂
I think it's fantastic. Cold steel is in good hands and Lynn is enjoying his well deserved retirement but graciously shows up sometimes.
When is COLD STEEL releasing MAYHEM??? I tried to order it just now…..the website says notify me when it’s ready for sale. So cold steel is advertising the Mayham knife but you can’t buy it. Please give us a release date. I would happily pre-order the Mayham knives if cold steel would let me.

AUS 10 Is a fine steel for most of us. Easy to maintain a very sharp edge. COLD Steel is what i recommend to my Students for Protection in and outside the home.
My 4-Max Scout in AUS-10 has thoroughly impressed me. I’ve thrown it at wooden targets hundreds of times, routinely use it like a hatchet to chop off chunks of cherry wood for my smoker, slay through tons of cardboard like butter on trash night, etc. and the blade still has zero play, the tip is still in tact, holds an edge a really long time, sharpens up quick & easy on the Diamond stones and the blade can take a severe beating without any major chipping occurring. Cold Steel nailed the AUS-10 heat treat.
These type of videos need to come back! More often and that's how I started getting my first Cold Steel Blade back then, Recon Tanto😊👍💪 Anytime Anywhere ™
I was left speechless after seeing the test on the locking system from calculated survival. And functioning perfectly afterwards with a razor sharp edge. Thats badass i need a one of them in my life!
I love that locking mechanism being much easier to disengage but still strong as a tank.
I can't wait to get this knife. I love my espada xl and this looks like it's older weight lifting brother.

Interesting testing on the Mayhem. I’m still not convinced on the Atlas lock’s durability and strength. Controlled downward pressure of over 800 pounds is not the same as 800 pounds of free hanging weight on the lock. Do the same test with free weight hanging from the handle and I guarantee you will get a different result, like up and down blade play. Benchmade did similar pressure test on the Adamas folder with the axis lock in a similar machine setup and got weight that exceeded 800 pounds also . Tested a Adamas with hanging free weights and didn’t even get half the weight claimed. I’m not saying the Mayhem would have a catastrophic failure but it would have substantial up and down blade play. The Tri-Ad lock is still superior and until you can prove the Tri-Ad lock is not GSM should not say it’s the strongest lock they tested.
Tri-Ad is absolutely the strongest lock ever made.
I am an avid knife collector with multiple dozens of expensive brands and styles of knives but being in the security field, I carry my Cold Steel knives more than any because of the reliability and quality. I can always count on my Cold Steel knives and will be getting a Mayhem!
What Cold Steel you usually carry at work? When I walk my dog I carry my Recon 1 tanto usually. But the 4-Max Scout is what I carry if I’m gonna be going through town or the park. That 4-Max could take off an attackers arm in one swipe if you needed it to. Lol
@@mikeappleget482 that’s awesome! I usually carry either AD10 or one of my Recon 1s. Sometimes the SR1… and my 4Max scout stays in my vehicle…with some others.

I have the special and the aus10. These are very easy to carry. In fact I carried both at the same time with no problems with weight. They are so cool. The lock is ready to use (not stiff) and the blades are typical cold steel sharp. They slice paper arms anything else you want to cut. They feel great in the hand and actually if you're out in the woods you have plenty of room to baton on this knife. With the atlas lock I doubt you'll hurt the knife. Great knife.
Mayhem is truly mayhem, it's not a beast, it's the pocket Kaiju of knives, haha.

only 6 inches for a cleaver was a weird move by them, Espada > but this is prob more practical
Depends on if you mean the jewelry grade Espada (proud XL owner), or the budget grade Espada. I’d agree that the higher end ones are a touch impractical except for D measuring or last ditch defense situations.
Functionally, the Mayhem looks more durable longterm.
@@Bangalangs I own both the AUS10 & S35vn version of the Espada XL. I meant just pocketability really. I prefer the AUS10 one as it's a bit lighter and easier to handle as a result but the s35vn one is definitely stronger overall
@@EverDayBestyea the AUS10 version is quite light in hand, and is easier to grip compared to the S35VN satin blade model with aluminum bolsters.
The all black Espada XL in XHP though has the best grip due to the G10 scales being larger. It literally sticks to the hand.

I have been a Cold Steel fan after I met Lynn working one table by himself at the Culver City rock and gem show . He had the Prototype of the Tanto knife . The only knives he had to sell were the Urban Pal and the Urban Shiv . This when he was just starting out . I bought three Urban Pals . 5:15

This is like the perfect companion knife. I’ve been carrying both the immortal (xhp) and the rajah 2 for a few years now and I think the mayhem could supplant my rajah.

That is a dope knife. We need to get Lynn to do a video on the tactical purpose of the swayback design. I know the MacV SOG knives have that in the design, and there was a Spydie some years back, I can’t remember. But I think there is some technique where you are supposed to do a forearm press on the spine with a close combatant. But that’s all I remember. Could you help with that? I bet Lynn knows the move.

I watched Joe X and his test have some unrealistic goals, but the Mayhem just basically failed. I’m sure the S35vn is better. I own 3 XL Espadas and many other Cold Steel knives. It just seems it should be tuffer.

A folder that size is just plain silly. A folder is to slip in your pocket. If it's that size, might as well have a fixed blade. I have a cheap Tanto blade for many years. Still very sharp. It gets strapped to one of my bug out, dark alley bags. But I'll spend the coin and get Benchmade or Tops. At least no head banger music.
The Mayhem is pretty cool, I don't see the Atlas being stronger than the Tri-ad lock being that it's that fidgetable. The colors make it look pirate, gimmicky
I imagine an all black DLC blade and ALL black hardware and upgraded handle scales,(carbon fiber?) and this thing will live up to it's name. Until now, I'm holding off on it and keeping my polished Espada XL's which had way better design even in 2008. Of course I have the CTX-XHP version and the S35VN version. CTX-XHP was way better in my opinion because I notice it on other models like the 4" Talwar, was a scapel. Now, Cold Steel does not make the knives as sharp as they used to. Even then, they still come sharper than my over-priced Benchmades. Also this new guy tries too hard to be 😈 and it makes me cringe because it looks like he enjoys inflicting pain..like an underlying passive agressive. When Lynn would only scream "DIE!" with an executive suite 😂

I just got me Mayhem Limited Edition in the mail today and all I can say is Ho Lee Fuk This thing is a true beast. It’s even bigger than I expected when I got it in hand. Which is a great thing. When I opened the box and saw it I just said holy F¥€£ out loud and me wife was in the other room and asked what’s wrong. NOTHING HONEY. 🙄 Lol if I’m out in the woods or shit hits the fan round here I’m carrying one knife with me and it’s the Mayhem. You could cut limbs off with this thing. Lol I think just pulling this thing out is enough to change anyone mind that means harm to you. They would be like. Give me all your never mind wrong guy. Have a nice day sir. Damn this thing is cool and that S35VN blade looks amazing. This is my first time with a knife with the triad lock and it’s super cool good action from the lock there’s not using the thumb stud it’s to big of a knife to use at least with my hands without looking a didget and this thing with take one off like a hot knife through butter. It’s intimidating af. I love it though worth ever red cent. If you’re going to get one I’d spend the extra money and get the Limited Edition one for the extra $30 to $50 depending where you get it it’s worth is for the red G10 and the S35VN blade. Even if you pay $300 which is what most other places are charging but I got mine from Midway USA for $259.99 but it’s definitely worth $299.99 what everyone else is charging. Well done Cold Steel this is a real banger of a knife and a great addition to any collection. Amazing knife.
