Nice job hooking it up! I have ordered a car and some parts from my local hobby shop over 2 weeks ago and still haven’t received anything. I tried to help out a local dealer and here I still sit waiting. No wonder why Amazon is flooded the market. I could have had my items on my doorstep the next day… what’s your thoughts on this situation? Nice work though I sure he will be happy to get his ride back!!!
Sorry to hear that But yes most shops don't carry parts especially tamiya so for them to get them is like a special order why it takes so long.. Sometimes you just have to get the stuff on line. Thanks for looking and I can't wait for him to get this back, I think he will be making a video also.
Oh !!!!!!!!! If you haven't sent it back yet!!! I need just 1 person to verify something!!!! If you could. I found stuffing a piece of soft foam or fuel hose. Anything really. Under the endbell of the motor for support and push up ever so slightly improved gear mesh and eliminated noise. I was wondering if it's just my car or inherent to the TT02.
Hi thanks for looking, I think it's just your car or maybe you pinion gear is worn or the wrong pitch if you bought a steel one? I have had a few TT02 they always mesh smooth with no problems, you can hear this one when on the bench when I test ran it up how smooth it sounds. Hope this helps.
@@ShenRC I have got maybe 40 different pinions. Staggering gear set ups. It's just for some reason I get this odd gear noise. I've swapped to the hard deck and it only got worse. Different motors too. Only thing that worked for me was triple stacking servo tape and supporting the motor slightly. Make me wonder if something is up with my motor mount now but it's the Tamiya aluminum upgrade. I wouldn't like it to be that.
@@Paul__FC I don't know maybe buy a new spur gear maybe it was a bad out of round warped one? I think these pinions are the .06mod type not 48P those wont work and then ruin the plastic spur gear.
Great job Steve. The car runs very smooth with the upgrades. Speed's okay for a rallye car.

Why no Tamiya 54501 TT-02 Alu Propeller Shaft?
It is worth every penny!!!
Probably money everyone is getting broker by the day. He already has more into it than a new one now.
Hi I figured I have a brushless set up in mine with the stock shaft so with a sport tuned motor it would not really matter. Thanks
Na he only has a sport tuned motor there would be no need for a new aluminum shaft other than some bling 😁

Yeah...tough times.
But the plastic thing is going to bend, with a more powerful motor...
Jobs 😅
