The problem that the new Ukrainian parliaments and the new governments created laws against national minorities since 2014.
    ..
The essence of the new policy of Ukraine - forcing Ukrainisation.
It is forbidden to speak in Hungarian in a buro.
    ..
Ukraine became not more Euoeopen but less European.
    ..
Even important politicians (like A. Arestovich) recognize the problem of unequality of nations in Ukraine.
    ..
The existence of Russian minority is not recognised at all in Ukraine.

Human rights are hurt in general in Ukraine.
People are cought on the streets as animals in order to be sent to the war.
    ..
Ukraine is very similar to Russia or even worse because Russia has also safe regions (with human rights, kept) but Ukraine does not.

We have such communities of large minorities everywhere in Europe. All works well until radical nationalists or separatists start causing havoc which in some cases results in the radicalization of both parties and governmental interventions. Orban shall let these people alone and stop sowing hate and divisions. Especially considering that he's the last one respecting the rights of minorities.

Well when you take into account that Hungary was the first country to implement rights for minorities in all Europe and then see what was done to us in the treaty of trianon... Or when Hungarians helped America in the civil war to free slaves... You know maybe our people should of not done what they did ... In 1241 500.000 Hungarians in the countryside exterminated, then the Ottoman empire raided and burn entire villages... Maybe we truly are cursed. 1848 against two empires... What did we do to deserve this...my family conscripted for the Romanian army in 1941 now Ukranians conscript the most Hungarians their rights taken away untill two weeks ago... a soft ethnic cleansing that has been going on since a long time , maybe our people should of blocked all access to the people entering Hungary...

EU decision is that hungarian government did a big mistake to not support it. It is a shame for all hungarian people. Secondly, all candidate countries are partly occupied by russia...

The hungarian minority have been under attack, intimidation, harrassment by ukrainian nationalists,
cultural establishments monuments have been vandalized constantly.
They replaced the hungarian principals with ukrainians in every shool, there is new
bill in parliament that would criminalize the use of hungarian between a doctor and patient.
How insane is that?Imagine in the USA a doctor not allowed to speak spanish with a patient.

    • @soulkrsxxx
      @soulkrsxxx Год назад

@@marisabenson1222The exact number is 156.000 Hungarian live there.
The story behind that region being very populated by Hungarians has to to with Treaty of Trianon.
Where Czechoslovakia revived a chunk of Hungarian land.
Later own when Czechoslovakia dismembered the land that was cut of Hungary got into USSR hand.
Than when USSR dismembered back in 1991 that land got into Ukrainian hand.
Still Hungarian live there and the Hungarian memorials , statues are there. That’s why you can see the city and other things written in Hungarian too.
Hungary has monuments there that is part of Hungarian history.
Back in 2012 Ukraine took away its minorities rights one of them was the language. And Hungary didn’t like that.
They took off Hungarian statues and destroyed memorials.
      And they mistreated Hungarians.
The bad relationship between Hungary and Ukraine goes as far back as 1956 when Hungary had a revolution against the USSR(first country to have a revolution against USSR) and Ukraine troops took care of the revolution and killed thousands of Hungarians in Budapest.
Than the most recent ones were the rights of Hungarians.
Like it’s well known that Hungary and Romania relationship isn’t the greatest since ww1.
But even they respect Hungarians who live there and memorials till today unlike Ukraine did so far.
Sure Hungary took an L in ww1 and ww2 but that land was Hungarian for more than 1000 years. So you can imagine the history and memorials, statues, people that is there and they all being discriminated.
Sure I agree on Orbans points they should make more effort to change they laws to become more a democratic country but I feel like it’s more about how Ukrainian treated Hungary and Hungarians, statues, memorials in the recent years. Than the actual reason what Orban says. Because those reasons can be said for Georgia and Moldova too but you don’t hear him ramping about those two countries only Ukraine.
Perhaps Orban wants to get those land back in a political way. I’m sure I’m gonna sound nationalist but even in the contract of treaty of Trianon that land supposed to go back to Hungary after 100 years and that treaty was signed 103 years ago. If that would happen Orban and Hungarian would shut up they would be happy. Ukraine wouldn’t for sure but that peace of land never meant to be with Ukraine nor forever being apart of another country.

Usually the alternative is not having that group exist or be effective in the first place. The nuclear powers have an implicit veto in that if someone does something they don't like, they can nuke it. In the case of NATO, member states want to be sure about not being unilaterally dragged into a war.
As for the EU, countries subordinate their sovereignty to the extent of EU laws; so if you were one of those, wouldn't you want control over that in the most important areas, like taxes, [foreign] workers' rights and freedom of expression - as well as special cases not provided for under the treaties, like giving a bunch of money to Ukraine? (Articles 19, 113, 115, 153(1)(c), (d), (f) and (g), and 352 TFEU.) In other cases it takes four EU council members to object, or 35% + 1 participating; it doesn't impact everything.
