AKITA INU were originally hunting dogs and fighting dogs. Although they are now kept in the home environment as family dogs, they still retain hunting and fighting nature. Got an Akita as a friend for my rottie. They’ve been doing great. Will start training her too eventually.
Glad to hear you added another dog to your family :) I've heard Akita's can be very stubborn during training though so to make training easier it's recommended to start training early. Good luck!

when my akita was 4 months, I bring him out of house every 3 hours, then extended the time to be 4 hours 5 hours… until he was 8 months, he can keep at least 10 hours not pee at home..

I have a Japanese akiti she Is the love of my life! Tan and white and so smart! I named her Bella because she is so beautiful there was no other name for her! She is 2 and a half years old and I want to mate her with a male with the same features she will make such a good momma and she is very social! She loves children and kisses all the other dogs! When I take her to the dog park she gets so excited and can't wait to play with the other dogs! She is such a joy I can't say enough about her!

I’m sorry that reply late. For the puppy, bite something is normal, but it have to be trained. You will need to teach them, every time when your dog bite, you must seriously and clearly said”NO” or “STOP”. Normally they can be trained in 1-2 weeks. Hopes my suggestion could help you. 😊

Beautiful! But wouldn't he be already house-trained, since you guys got him after 4 months? That's extremely late for normal adoption, and I would have imagined the reason to get a puppy at that age is to get a house-trained and socialized puppy.
Yes, it is a little bit late but lucky that AKITA is quite snark to learn the new things. Normally 1 commande takes 1 week to learn my akita~
