it always amazes me how mother nature regenerates after a massive fire like the '88 fire in Yellowstone. here's a neat fact before 1988 the US national park policy was if nature set the fire it was to be left to burn itself out. of course the '88 fire changed that. but it looks like they may have to do some prescribed burning in the park.
Yeah, fire doesn't always leave the nicest things in its immediate wake, but it is nature's cleaner and an important part of the forest life cycle. Sure glad the Old Faithful Inn survived.
