I always like when u find things that only 'explorers' have the ability to spot. For example, that small, metal sign with no markings but appeared to be railroad related - only explorers see things like that. I doubt 'regular folk' would ever spot that.
Awesome foldability on the Cycrown! Looks like you had a really nice, comfortable ride, too! Love these rail trail videos for the gorgeous scenery! Had to chuckle at the "Beaver Hotel" on Creasy Creek, Lol! But hands down the best view was Moosehead Lake. Nice! Cool to see a phone booth standing there along the way, and impressive rock outcropping spot! Great job, Loved it! Thanks for bringing us along!💙🌞
I just picked up a Specialized turbo Vado e-bike. It’s my first e-bike. I picked it up Wednesday. Haven’t ridden it yet. Going on my first ride after work today. I can’t wait!!
I'm sitting here watching live Deers playing in and around c the Corn Stalks accross the Street from my Brothers house. Amazing what you can see when your in the boonies. I'm pretty sure it matting season. It's been nice and Cool here tonight and last night. We have been watching them
That concrete post next to the cut off telegraph pole would have been post to hold wooden relay cabinet for track signals for the trains, they at one time used wooden cabinets then changed to steel, Like those cabinets you see at RR crossings.
As always, love how you tie in maps wherever your adventures are. I noticed on a pre-1940 map that a little to the west of the Moosehead Lake is a crossing over a river called Bear Junction. This was a rail line which intersected the D&L there and headed Northeast called the Bear creek rail and it went north up to Bear Creek. You can see the bed up to route 436 (probably a fire road now). And you can also traces of the bed to Bear Creek, but they are not marked once you get past 436. Thank you for the great time.
You know I love the D&L Trail and have many videos coming. Are you following us? Lol 🤗 thank you for the mention. My heart fell when I heard you mention us. Love you for that. We are sooo appreciative 🤗
Another beautiful rail trail. Love the seclusion and just being in the woods. There are always wonderful things to see on those old rail trails...I just love it. The lake was my favorite. I do remember as a child seeing telegraph poles in water so that may have been normal back in the day. I have to play catch up again...its been one hell of a shity 2 weeks. Great video. ✌
Hey JP! Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel. You were made to do this. You consistently put out great videos. Have a great weekend! 👍
i would love to go there. thanks for more clues on e bikes, i still didn't get one yet. This would be such a great place to start my e bike. (with you)
Nice video but the bike is hot garbage that's a kids bike adults want duel shocks , hydraulic breaks , turn signals if possible color screens , anti theft capabilities, ect and at least 1000 watt or 1200 ,2000watt motors and 60amp batteries or 72 volt anything below this is old technology happy to say😂
Well, another rail trail for me to explore and bike on !! I never knew this was there. The D&L trail is VERY long. Even into NJ. Thanks so much for taking me along. I love the quality and work you put into your videos.
18:50 - on some railroads there are signs stating the sloping of the track so the train engineer would know if it's uphill or downhill. Might seem trivial, but it would determine amount of power that has to be applied to avoid getting slowed down or getting overspeed.
Wonderful ride ....love rail trails . Beautiful video and photo montage . The lake was my favorite too and always love a picnic table ! Thank you for sharing the adventure . 💙👍
There is a rail trail in Woodbine ,Ga. not far from here .. A sad note is there is a grave marker beside the trail of an unknown Hobo that fell from a train and died many years ago ..
Glad i got this video JP Hope to see it all But its Beautiful Area Ur Blessed Saturday nt 8 July here Gt Discoveies n Wow The Train wid jv been Outstanding sae other video when u Filmed JT Train Cheers Brian
Hi Jpvidieo's love going on trip's with you learning history and Abandoned plane's not in to the trains as much as you but Love the ride to hidden places and Abandoned plane's and the raw ghost haunt and Love the fact you have a mate that dose the best ghost party I have ever seen wish for that here in perth W.A.!!!
I liked the telephone booth along with the cave or rock outcropping, wish you could have got right up to the rock cliff but I respect that you didn't trespass, as always enjoyed the ride take care.
Awesome trail ride JP! All the old railroad relics and the beauty of the surrounding nature is magnificent there! Nice E-bike! The bike and scooter reviews have really made for some great videos! A great way to get out and enjoy the world!👍
I was born in Bradford pa.. there's a old rail trail around Custer city.. they did away with the tracks..i don't know how far it goes.. I've been told that it goes to NY state..
At around the 9 minute mark it looks like there might have been THREE lines since there's another raised section on the opposite side of the trail from where you found the ties. Actually right behind that old phone booth where you mentioned the old ties was the raised rail bed again. Kinda surprised that you didn't go explore it.
Awesome adventure JP! Beautiful scenery and landscape! I'm thinking the water level of the lake had risen and that is why the telegraph pole is in the water. The phone booth (except for the mosquitos lol) and the lake are a couple of my favorite parts too and especially where the bench is, it would be so peaceful to sit there and look out over the lake. That is a very nice bike! Great video! Thank you!
This was a lovely vid scenery wise...your pics at the end are stunning! Snazzy bike but most of all love the tank top! Reminded me of our trip to Vegas , 2007...such a fun place to go, saw the Grand Canyon! Anyhoo, keep them vids a comin'!❤
Awesome adventure, Jay!!! I enjoyed it so much 💙💙 Thank you for the ride!!! Nice bike and your review was fantastic!!! If you ever give up RUclips try salesman!!! You are a natural at it 💙 Thank you Jay, for all that you do!!! I appreciate you so very much 💙💙 My favorite part of this adventure was Moosehead Lake!!! It looks so peaceful there!!! Much love from South Carolina ❤️ xx May God always bless you, keep you healthy and safe ❤️🙏❤️
Hey , I love your vids, I love in Williamsport and have for a few years. I've looked for places to do some hiking and metal detecting. Your vids have inspired me to get out and look around more. Thank You
That’s the problem with the eastern part of the US, so much land has been sold and it’s hard to find places to go hiking, biking or camping that doesn’t have land posted. It’s a bit different out west where most land is still like it was during the frontier days!
Did they demolish the dam for that old reservoir along 309 yet? I know you said you would try and give us an update and a final video of it before it's taken down. Just curious.
There's a dam off 115 that they are still working on (Decommissioned). Once they're done working, I'll check it out. The one off 309 is posted now, but from last I heard is still there.
OK, you went by Moosehead Lake, wondering why the utility poles were all in the water. I think I can help. I have a topo map of the area from 1894 which hangs on my wall. It shows all the railroads and what they had for roads. I can send you a shot if you send me an address. It shows the then-active railroad past that area. It's the asme place, with an area right there called Moosehead. Further up, there's the trail you mentioned which is identified as Bear Creek railroad. The place that has the phone booth and the trail going off there is Bear Creek Junction. The map shows three structures at that point. My guess is at least one was housing for the workers. But, what is important to your enquiry is that I see no body of water inside of the curve at all. I can send a photo of it if you want, but I get the impression that the area was dammed up sometime past 1894 for an ice pond - where they would harvest ice in winter to deliver to iceboxes all over the area, before refrigerators were common. Railroads would often have a spur for the ice cars. Henry Drive in Rice Township had one when that road was also a railroad, to service the two ice lakes there. So, the utility poles pre-dated the ice lake is what I'm saying.
1. When was that abandoned? If memory serves, the CNJ had abandoned all PA operations in '72, but I don't know if Conrail ran through there. 2. I'm looking into getting a Hiboy. Are they comfortable?
The LV and CNJ combined track routes in 1965 from white haven (Frasers Jct) to save $$ on maintenance as they were both in financial trouble at the time , LV abandoned this portion in favor for the CNJ route that goes thru White Haven tunnel, had less grade and more direct. As you said in 1972 they pulled out of PA. LV was then heavy with the D&H-RR sharing business and trackage rights... CNJ route was leased from Lehigh and Susquehanna (L&S), they were the first route thru the Lehigh Gorge and grabbed the best routes, then the LV took over picking best from both roads, keeping some LV and some CNJ routes. Mostly from White Haven to Solomons Gap.
There is access to the other side of Moosehead but you would need someone local to take you. Parking for 1 car , nothing to let you know there is a trail head and the trail isn't marked. Honestly, having seen both, the view you had is the better view. It's a much wider view from the bike trail.
Is that the rail line that you took your bike with you and you road back to where you started? I want to go fishing on that Moosehead Lake. I really miss fishing. Not many places around me to fish. It kind of scares me how fast you ride sometimes. Have you ever wiped out on one of your bikes? Cool graphics.
What was your favorite part of this journey? If you couldn't tell, the lake was my favorite. Thanks for coming along with me.
I always like when u find things that only 'explorers' have the ability to spot. For example, that small, metal sign with no markings but appeared to be railroad related - only explorers see things like that. I doubt 'regular folk' would ever spot that.
@@glennsmith3303 you're right. Most people wouldn't even realize it's there, where I'm constantly hunting those items that are hiding in plain sight.
The lake was my favorite place to

That's probably the same line that serviced bear creek dam on 115 for the ice business of Albert Lewis.
The scenery and especially the lake views 😊
It was a wonderfully beautiful location
I love seeing the old rail trails, always a fan of rail road history. Excellent video JP 👍👍👍
Thanks! More to come.

Those poles were dug into dry ground undoubtedly. Lake water must have risen, or maybe the lake was created/enlarged after the RR built in.
See my comments.
Love all your videos when you find interesting finds even better on a e bike can't wait to get mine explore myself
Thanks. I love seeing what these trails have to offer.

I was born in Bradford pa.. there's a old rail trail around Custer city.. they did away with the tracks..i don't know how far it goes.. I've been told that it goes to NY state..
23:25 just right of the former telegraph pole is the old telegraph pole cross arm in the water, you can see the steal insulator holder still in it.
I noticed that during editing. Good catch.

Actually right behind that old phone booth where you mentioned the old ties was the raised rail bed again. Kinda surprised that you didn't go explore it.
I'll be back in the area again. Apparently I missed part of a rail car that crashed a long time ago.

Fun fact lehigh valley raikroad used these posts to hold their signal or electrical boxes but cool find
I learned that afterwards. Thanks for checking out the video.
The lake was my favorite
Beautiful.
That sign you found is probably a yard limit sign
Yes, good possibility

I think there’s a concrete telephone booth on the Ironton Trail at Coplay, Pennsylvania.
Correct. I've showed it in my video there.
The metal sign bent over said switch. I can see it on my screen, just barely.

Absolutely for pics and video. For fishing and ticks, the other side may be a better option. lol

I rode the same trail back that I rode out on. I typically ride under 15mph except for the speed test I did. No Wipeouts.
May I say that you make some great video on your outing in your home state of Pennsylvania
Thanks
That's more than my pocket can afford
My guess is that the water levels either rose or were non existent at the time the poles were installed.
Can cargo racks be added????
You can check the website to see what options or accessories available.
Sweet 😋
70% of the video isn’t about the bike… :P
