Our opening night for Anastasia was last night and our auditorium was packed and every single person yelled and cheered after this song. It was amazing ❤
From 0:59 and on, all I could hear was princess Carolyn from Bojack the horseman. It literally took me by surprise to find out it's a different actress hahah. Her voice is incredible whatsoever and I can't describe my love for those growlings! This is one of the best songs in the musical
Duck On Quack I remember instantly falling in love with this song AFTER I saw the live performance, it just makes it even better to listen to plus Countess Lilli has so much personality and confidence on stage

I just got Lily in my version of Anastasia. A charecter choice I chose is speaking in a heavy Russian accent the entire show (even while singing!). I need to listen to this over and over to stay on track and make sure I’m still on the notes 😂🥲

I think it’s due more to similarities between the two cultures and music due to proximity than any hidden metaphor. This is what Russian music sounds like.
