Wikileaks was journalism...not the u.s. big media kind, but real journalism. Telling the truth is what got Julian in hot water. Not sure what Mises is but listening to this moderator is rather bizarre. But thank you Kyle for speaking to the truth.

What honestly irritates me about some segments of this discussion, is that it proceeds as if the subject is the synthesis of a set of actions by Assange on the one hand, and a procedurally legitimately functioning authoritative legal systems on the other. That is perhaps done for the sake of making it easier to explain, or for other reasons. Nothing could be further from the truth. Assange was merely being tortured all the time, and failure to acknowledge that fact speaks volumes about the morally and intellectually blunt state of Americans Brits, Swedes, and their institutions at the moment.

I implore all these “all of a sudden” assange commentators to read “the trial of Julian Assange” by nils Melzer
It’s the encyclopedic timeline of every day of Wikileaks and assamges
Injustices and illegal and immoral legal battles and
      Incarcerations and perversions of justice

Why...? Maybe its time to change narative. Its time the supreme court favor the demand of the justice and then....change the constitution demanded by the crowd...just speculation!

The US government tortured him by mutilating him and emasculating him, and intimated everyone who didn't pretend it was normal.

I absolutely feel like there’s a layer of complexity that’s removed from the discourse when this fact is omitted. Chelsea Manning is a transgender woman who underwent gender reassignment therapy and eventually surgery during a time of incarceration for alleged crimes. It’s worth mentioning that that the person initially charged and incarcerated was Bradley Manning and the person who came out was Chelsea. Remarkable how that’s glossed over in the recounting of events, not just on this platform, but generally when the story is told, that information is struck from the record.

@@voodoochile4147 very important point! It was obviously the state making an example - the message is, "you defy us, we can do this to you." Also, RUclips seems to have censored my original reply here, or at least I can't see it. Fun...
