I 100% agree. This is the sort of thing that makes a song stand out compared to others. Creating a unique mood is vital and adding drone layers is one of many ways to achieve this. Great video
Next step is using something like Phase Plant and do modal synthesis to control the resonances and the timbre of the sound. You should check it out and do an updated video. Would be fun seeing you trying that :D
