Nice, welcome back! Some of the strats have evolved quite a bit with the 30% buff, so you'll want to check with the guild on each boss how they want you to handle it
You have helped me prepare for ICC from my TBC prot pally entering into world in the last phases. My only toon has 5.6 GS prot pally thanks for the tips!
I took about 4 hours to review this video, and I took over 6 pages of single-spaced notes. Roughly a quarter of that is JUST Lich King. Color me daunted. Thanks for the vid! Hopefully my raid's experience will be somewhat less painful with this information in-hand.

Remember if your working on unholy runes for shadowmourne Remember to fill to 100% slime and grab the buff as the abomb just before the final phase and you lose the abomination. Dont do it early as the buff has a timer and i could lose the buff before the boss fight is over
Back when Wrath was current content, our paladin tanks stacked block for Valithria. Not playing classic, so I don't know how helpful that is now, but it made a world of difference then.
@@SubtleFW Honestly, even if you yourself are not having suvivability issues, it frees up healer time for others and the encounter goal. If I'm remembering correctly, you can get above the max damage the 81-82 stuff deals fairly easily, effectively taking them out of the equation as long as you keep them in front of you.
Haha no worries just make sure you're letting your stacks drop off before you taunt. And it makes it really easy if you always just go in at 90 degrees of her then go in front when you're taunting so you aren't ever running through an ice tomb drop off spot
I intend to fight the Lich King eventually, but I never knew that Ice Crown Citadel required so much coordination and dealing with specific abilities in specific ways; that's a lot to remember and prepare for. I don't think that anyone will accept first-time tanks anymore. That typed, the Lich King seems slightly easier than Algalon the Observer, SLIGHTLY... what do you think about that evaluation? Also, you did not mention whether the Lich King's "Necrotic Plague" could be directly cured by healer abilities. Anyway, thank you for this guide!
New tanks will always have a bit of an uphill battle, but if you stick with it, you can definitely clear the raid. Normal Lich King is easier than Algalon but Heroic Lich King is quite a bit harder than Algalon. Necrotic Plague is a disease, so it can be cured with any disease removal. But you'll want to make sure at least the first and second ones jump to ghouls/horrors
Just practice tanking a lot. Run lots of random dungeons til you have solid gear and feel like you know how to use your abilities well. Then you can get into some normal 10 mans, then heroic 10/25 normals, then heroic 25 mans. It's all about starting small and slowly working your way up
Hand of freedom just lets you ignore the slow briefly but doesn't remove the debuff itself. The bubbling I was mentioning was for a very rare circumstance where she refreshes the debuff on you in separate ground phases, so it doesn't fall off and gets so high that you can't really move
The link for you plater profile is tagged as dragonflight, is that correct? Also, is it updated with LK debuff you just said in the video? I'm interested in your updated plater profile, it looks really good.
The Plater profile works for wrath. I think it just auto tagged it as dragonflight now that Plater uses the same version for retail and classic. I haven't updated it yet but will shortly

In the wowhead guide it says a DK is probably better for progression on LK from the basically passive 15% dmg reduction from being hit below 35% hp, do you think that's a fair assessment or just prot pally bis 4 life?
im like kinda running like a mad man trying to chase them and also i pretty much have to remove all the skills with cleave dmg to not kill the orbs such as holy shield, HoTR . just feels annoying haha. wondering if there are any best ways of doing it@@SubtleFW

Maybe he has crit cap from resil or just has really good healers and kill times and getting crit doesn't matter much with high CD uptime. Wouldn't recommend 99% of people try it though

The taunt swap in sindra is where I keep messing up as off tank, I either go over at the wrong time and get frozen lol

Yah unfortunately it's a major uphill battle for new tanks. If you stick with it you'll get there, but it's gonna be frustrating and take a while

DKs and prot pallies are both great on LK, but if you have one of each, I'd put the prot pally on adds P1 and DK on LK

@@gcinfamous have you tried glyph of reckoning? That should allow you to grab them from far away
