Love the way Simon and Graeme don't talk over each other and pause when the other is speaking. Pure Class!
They are both right. Grealish is too predictable and takes too many touches. He slows the game down a bit too much. When you watch Doku he does the same thing but rapidly. Which makes it unpredictable and he seems to be more successful at getting the ball in. To be fair though to Grealish for some reason teams double up on jack and make his job more difficult.
If Grealish was so predictable how come he gets fouled everytime? Surely it would be the other way round Lol
@@foxxyyairobecause grealish wants to get fouled
I think Pep is coaching Doku and Grealish to play the same way. They both seem to play in front of the defender, except Doku does it quicker and more times
They double up on Jack because he takes creeps forward with baby touches allowing time for defenders and whoever else to come and help out
@@Thursdaynights exactly.
Furthermore the vast majority of wingers get doubled up on if the opposing team is able to do it
Never thought Id hear a discussion like this because Jack is British. But he has been hiding on the pitch, taking the safe option. Winning the treble shielded him last year. Now de bruyne is out and other teams in top 6 have improved, they need him to contribute more than ever
Shielded from nothing if we didn't have him we would not have won the treble, simple, get real.
@@jackhill6523you’re riding it mate. 0g 1a in 13 starts in champions league. Yes most chances created none could pick out any meaningful ones. He’s hiding
You'd want wing players to threaten to run at defenders more, Grealish should be more central playing the way he does.
Agreed.. he would look fantastic centrally.. plus for all we know he’s playing like is out there because that how peps telling him too..who knows..
You're absolutely right
@@tommypoyner8465 clearly not. otherwise he would be in the team
@samiulhuda4001
"Clearly not." When did Pep tell you the reason Jack's not in the team?
Pep himself before the Spurs game was asked " Doku starts again today what's your reason behind this " Nothing Doku is just in better form atm. "
@@GlovesareoffSweetScience pep doesnt have to. if he was doing what he was told he would not be dropped. what he is being told we dont know but clearly hes not being good enough to be in the team. first season he barely played last season played 28 games this season he is dropped again. thing is grealish has not improved since villa days
Hes not wrong!! Ive never got the Grealish hype...
No me neither, I just don't get it, - it's funny how Aston Villa are better without him.
👋🏾👋🏾👍🏾
All average footballers are hyped today.
That’s because you don’t understand football. He is an attacking midfielder playing on the wing. So is foden in a lot of games. None of them are actual pure wingers
@@alecmorariu6291 understand football hahahahaha..... that complex science?
He’s exactly right about Grealish.
Souness should be on here more. I miss his presence in football and his analysis is always spot on. No BS with him
No B.S 😂😂😂 He's a walking pile of it pal. This Jack Grealish criticism is pure nonsense and deeply personal, just like the Pogba nonsense. Pogba was garbage but it got to the point where Souness would criticise him, even if he hadn't played in the match being analysed. Fantastic player but a completely biased and garbage pundit.
@@michaelohara49 Well said that man.
@@michaelohara49 He was never wrong about Pogba and he isn't wrong about Jack. That's all that matters in the end, regardless of what his motivations are. He always says it how it is
@@michaelohara49He was right about Pogba and turns out even worse than what Graeme told us about him. I don't think Graeme has nothing personal against Grealish and it doesn't even sound like that in any way. He is right too about Grealish in that he has become very predictable on how he is going to play the ball & defenders or how he is going to dribble. Predictable is OK, Robben was very predictable, everyone knows what he's going to do, even the slight variations too. Yet, hardly anyone could stop him from scoring goals or assisting. Jack too as mentioned has become predictable and because he isn't as quick nor decisive, he can easily be stopped and is being stopped more lately. I think that's a very fair assessment of Grealish and where he stands with Doku coming in as a huge competition.
@@MichaelHolmgaardexactly, I commented almost the same thing as you bcoz I didn't see your comment. But nonetheless, you are right about Graeme being right and I am right for saying you are right for saying Graeme is right. 🙌🏻
Grealish’s days at City are numbered imo.
City’s days are numbered tbf 😂
City have had their day.

He’s right.
Spot on Souness. I am in total agreement with this. Yes football has changed but the Grealish in Villa and the Grealish in City are worlds apart. Real tlk he does not work hard, and apart from winning alot of freekicks for his team, his output is limited.
💯 facts.
He doesn’t work hard?

' Winning free kicks from fouls ' 🤣 What a stupid non skill attribute simply because he's English and has to be shown to be useful. 🥱.
Get real. If you're a full back, you're more afraid of explosive Doku running at you not slow Jack Grealish
I always say this. grealish is good at getting fouls....and that is it. that is his entire game. he never actually takes the full back on and almost never gets a cross or shot in, just feints once or twice like he's going down the line, tries to win a foul, and if the defender doesn't go for it he passes back to midfield. over n over again every single time. he isn't looking for the killer pass or to get to the line for a cutback, he's just looking for a foul and when he doesn't get them then he offers absolutely nothing to the team. overrated is an understatement
Spot on. He is incredibly predictable.
I just refuse to believe you watch any football, or atleast watch it without a beer in your hand. He literally got a cross in seconds after he came on and all man city and arsenal players will recycle the ball back from the wing. It's not a game of who can make the most crosses.
@@ifstar3so you took what he said literally and think he's saying grealish has never crossed the ball for city??
🤦♂️
Because he’s a possession player he’s not a wide forward who takes players on, similar to iniesta he didn’t get that many goals or assists
@@theblues8840 lmao....iniesta was a centre mid while Jack is a lwf.
Stop with the excuses.
Jack should try being a scoring or assisting player instead a fouled player.
Fact of the matter he is bang average but because of his Jack the lad attitude, love of drinking and acting a prat the wider English football audience relate to him and give him a pass for his bang average time at city.
Grealish and doku play in the same position so its common sense thar they are expected to do the same thing.
Difference is 1 player is dangerous and hurts the opposition regularly while the other 1 doesn't do it enough
Spot On. That’s absolutely accurate analysis. I hate when grealish holds the ball for too long like he is Messi
Lol what
Messi doesn't "hold" the ball ..... he moves it on before you blink......
He dictates the tempo
Grealish is never been the most interesting for Pep, thats why took him so long to get in the team and after a season they went for a real player like Doku.... He's gonna apply the wait till Doku gets injured card.
Souness does not play around when it comes to discussing these pretty-boy players. The legendary Maradona spent most games playing simple one and two touch passes and kept things moving before exploding into life with the legendary dribbles. When you dribble every time, the defender knows what you're going to do.
Maradona scored the greatest goal ever against England when he ran half the pitch, dribbling, not passing to anyone, and put it in the back of the net.
@@philmurdoch1203 what does that have to do with what I said?
@@philmurdoch1203did you read what the guy said? Maradona didn't dribble every time he got the ball...he dribbled when you least expected him to do it and that's why he was great

Souness is right, Jack doesn't want to progress the ball until the opposition are all back and in position. It's a strange way of playing.
Because he's looking for a foul.
He’s one of the most successful ball carriers in the PL mate so not sure how you figure that he doesn’t want to progress the ball 🤦♂️

@@theblues8840he carries it forward for far too long and in the end he doesn't do anything with it but instead turns it back so that he can carry it again later.
Grealish problem is he isn’t the main man and doesn’t have the license to dictate the play unlike he could at Villa
The game has changed now when managers have full squads they have players on the bench to come on and finish the game .
Saying that Jack does need to score a lot more goals
Completely agree , beats a man stops and plays it backwards!!!! Hardly ever produces an end product, hardly scores, and for me hasn't improved much at all since his move!!
He was absolutely quality at villa looks like his scared to express himself and have fun now
True but he was a big fish in a small pond there. Now, not so much.
He won't be allowed to express himself, it's peps way or you don't play
Na. Way more to do with JG being in a squad with not even half the talent of City.
@@reneroo277 Villa won the European cup far before Manchester City villa are not a small pond
Quality in an average club. And his numbers were best in the Villa team but average in the PL. 100m squad player, doesn't make sense. Another reason why the market is so crazy esp for english players. This is the pundits should be talking about
Grealish has not proved better than the man he replaced in Sterling, Sterling was quicker with more end product, goals and assists not to mention getting back quicker to help out in defence
Facts, very few players can make dribbling a art form,(hala - Messi,Best,Maradona)
But most dribblers can use their ability has weapon and that is usually speed to create doubt and unpredictability in the defenders mind.
Sterling is a winger. Jack is an attacking midfielder playing on the wing. You guys don’t have a clue
While many will blame Grealish for this its the modern problem in football where a player is bought for doing one thing at his previous club and then made to play in a completely different way at the new one and fairly often it doesn’t work out.
While Pep’s greatness is undeniable I get the strong impression that players are not able/allowed to fully express themselves in his teams. Even the players that have excelled under him are probably just carrying out his instructions expertly.
Grealish was given freedom at Villa and while his trophy cabinet was bare he was arguably a better, more exciting and more affective player.
Players of course have to take responsibility for their own performances but there’s also the factor of their manager making them play a certain way which may not be to the player’s best attributes. Its no coincidence that quite a few players have fallen out with Pep.
You think Pep cares about an individual players record?
His job is to win as a team and Grealish being safe helps that happen obviously
Grealish was always better coming deep for the ball and carrying it three quarters of the way up the pitch taking a couple of players on or drawing a couple in and releasing another player with a pass - hes never been a winger that looks to knock the ball around a fullback and drive past them with outright pace.
Theres a clip knocking about on youtube with Henry about Pep - he said Peps system at Barcelona was very very rigid and you was instructed to STAY in your position on the pitch for two thirds of the pitch, only when you got into the final third was you given creative freedom to do what you wanted and if you didnt do this pep would just take you off.
@@s1dew1nd3r4 There’s a rumour that there was a match where Henry came out of his position and scored but Pep subbed him off because of Henry’s “disobedience”
Sir Alex had very very high standards and was ruthless but many of his ex players speak about him with such reverence and as a father figure. I don’t hear the same at all with Pep. At the same time however if he keeps winning trophies that is what he’ll primarily be remembered for. For many he’s already the greatest coach of all time and he’s probably years and years away from retirement.
*effective
Villa was, because of their lack of quality, they couldn't dominate the game and have more of the ball so, they play counter attacking football to maximise the potential of their players. Grealish thrived bcoz he played as a 10, free role, doesn't have to run, defend, press as much as the other players. Also, there wasn't as much pressure on the team to win anything massive, not as many games, his price tag wasn't £100 million yet. So, all he had to do was wait for his teammates to win the ball back, get it to him and he could run at the opponents in a favorable situation aka counter attack. Not taking anything away from his talents and achievements. At City, he ain't that special, he has to work hard, has to press, track back, be at his position and wait etc. He is just another cog in the City machine and that is what we're seeing, a manager who values teamwork than iindividual brilliance, hard work, discipline and wins.
"Well, those silly sods at Man Utd will probably buy him for a fortune!"...Simon, on fine form! 😂
There was nothing wrong with Grealish's work ethic at Villa. What's Simon talking about?
Guardiola basically took all of what made Jack Jack out of his game no more running and dribbling at people he was turned from a maverick to a cog in the machine just recycling possession and passing rather than looking to take on his man. Doku has taken the shirt and right now I dont see how he gets it back
you have to adapt in a big winning team if you want to play unless you are world class. he is a decent player when he is a big fish in a small pond. and he wasnt ripping the world apart before city either. he had ok numbers
100% spot on
100mil for Jack was cos premier league has a quota for homegrown players and city needed him. British media dont talk about this
Grealish 1 goal in 27 games is calamitous. That's a 100 mil attacker
He’s absolutely spot on. Grealish is not good enough and is so predictable.
Sounes is 100% correct with his assessment of Grealish
Martin Keown is great but Souness is brilliant. He is the one person that puts Jordan into the shade. This show blows other ones like Drivetime etc out of the water. If only they could replicate this lot in the late afternoon snooze fest.
Grealish to Spurs, tottenham player, him and madders playing like they dont have a care in the world together
Doku is better than Grealish
He was such an exciting player at Villa, Pep has coached his flair out of him
You can't coach flair out of a player. He just made him more conservative than ever. Grealish made a career out of running at defenders and causing chaos
@@JimmyWashingtonII "you can't coach flair out of a player. He just made him more conservative" and you just contradicted yourself in the space of 1 comment
@@JimmyWashingtonII🤡so exactly what taking the flair out of a player . Just said it differently 🤡
@johnday45 Yes, you can. Micro managing and constantly telling players how to behave can can away their natural instincts. Some players can't play like that.
It's Easy to have flair and play how you want when your easily the best player in a below average villa team.
Wouldn’t call him a flop but going from Sterling to Grealish with the money spent was bad business. City would’ve won the treble a season earlier if they got Kane instead.
Grealish should go back to Villa where he will shine once again.
As a Villa fan i don't want to see Grealish back at Villa. not because of his perceived disloyalty but because i don't think he fits the mould Unai Emery has made for our squad. we are playing the best football i've seen from Villa and Jack isn't part of it. we have moved on without him so no thanks, citeh can keep him.
Doesnt get into the team
Villa don't want him back!
I'm pretty sure Pep asked Jack to slow down. He used to be more dynamic for Villa but when he came to City he was specifically instructed to slow the game down and take more touches. So Graeme has an issue with Pep's instruction rather than Jack himself, although I agree his goal and assist output needs to increase.
Well the same Pep now prefers Doku who is abit different
Jack is OK when you're in front and you want to run the clock down by faffing around somewhere on the left.....
Trust him bro, pep defo asked Jack to slow down
Lad there ain’t a manager in the Premier League who would tell his player to slow it down the complete opposite as Souness pointed out, ya move it quick
He will probably do the same to Doku
‘Integral’ played minimal amount of games and Pep went and bought a new player for that position.
He’s done at City
Maybe he'll join Sterling at Chelsea's home for those who never quite made it .......
About time someone said Grealish is vastly over-rated, about 90 million over-rated !
Grealish is not Man City level.
Every time City introduces a new player into the squad, it highlights how ordinary he is. Always playing sideways, always on the floor. And not trusted by the coach to start in the biggest games. He must be the only 100 million pound player that can't start for his country either.
If City weren't this good, the media would tell the truth about him.
Well said, Graham Souness.
The truth is when Grealish joined City they used to play alot of side passes and slow build up, then they brought in haaland, they now play faster and haaland makes lots of runs
That's too harsh Graeme.
Jack is not even that kind of player to dribble past 2, I'm not sure which Grealish he's watching. Grealish's problem is he holds the ball, dribbles side to side then passes it. He's rarely ever going past a defender. His fans claim that's how pep wants him to play but I didn't know holding wingers were a thing.
I don't think that he wants Grealish to play that way. Grealish can't play the Doku way. He hasn't got the pace to go outside his full back and has no left foot either. When he was at Villa, and I know it's a different level, mostly in the championship, he actually played a more central role at number 10. He was free to roam from there but was mainly playing in the hole between midfeld and the strikers plus he was villa's best ball carrier so was given license to dictate. Problem at City is that Foden and Silva are far better on the ball from central positions so he will only play on the wing.
I don't always agree with Souness and I agree with Simon that the game has changed since those days but Souness really isn't entirely wrong here when it comes to Grealish and he makes some valid points.
Exactly what I was thinking. Doku is doing the same thing but has better output, that’s the only difference.
@@ntokozoshaba 💯
He will be phased out at city.
The fact Pep clearly doesn't fancy him this season says it all, left out the biggest game of City's season at home vs Liverpool and then still doesn't get off the bench when City needed a goal
Didn’t start against Chelsea either
Sourness. One of the best ever. Dirty bugger. Made his space frightened opistion to death then started to play beautiful football. God bless him
minimising touches isn't what Pep signed Grealish for. he signed him so mid-way through second halfs he can bring him on, and simply be a cog in the possession machine that is Man City (more often than not, when City are already winning). slow the game down, keep the ball, lots of touches, pass it sideways, win a few free-kicks. in terms of England it's not exactly great prep being utilised like that, but that's what he's been signed for.
well its up to him to show he can do more. he still plays like hes a big fish in a small pond. he needs to evolve
That's not what you spend 100 million quid on a player for.
It’s like Joe Cole! They coach all the skill out of them and turn the flare players into robotic defensive type players in the hope that you can win things on one nil victories alone.
Anthony at MU has the same problem, he’s a great talent but you always know which direction he’s going in the box.
Love how Simon call souness out. Its not the 80s and we have heard your stories.
Times have changed.
The woman here was spot on I love the way she stood her ground and the way she described Arsenal. Normally I watch sky and all I hear are narratives from the past but here this lady was speaking about the present Arsenal great job
I always call Grealish a crab, because of how much he moves sideways lol. Takes minimum 5 touches, sometimes even 12 touches lol. I watch players like this and feel like they like having the ball a bit too much. You have to play for the team and keep it moving fast, it isn't about you. I remember dele alli used to do the same thing at spurs, always slows the attack down it's so annoying to watch.
Jack Grealish is finished at CITY if he doesn't get his finger out and get back to playing good attacking football. If ur not going to score then u need to be assisting team mates. GREALISH was forgiven a lot of indiscretions in his time at Villa that another player would have been booted to touch for. I believe he's let his standards slip drastically this season which is why he's sat on the Bench more and more. I defo believe Jack was or is happy with his lot now. He got the title he craved and he got that UCL medal he wanted so badly.
I said Man City would win the UCL within 2 years of his signing for them and it happened. He played a big art in it too so I just think Graeme is a bit harsh with his assessment of the lad.
I'm a Villa fan btw and I am glad we sold him bcos it was always about him. Everybody said that we were a one player club, and if he was a free agent I would not take him back simply bcos of how he treated the clubs fans by not telling us he wanted to go. We were happy for him to go if he wanted but he never said it and I say he owed us that at the very least. The way it was done was disgusting.
I was happy to take CItys 100Mil too btw. Jack was worth that money at the time and did he play a big part in Man City winning that treble with the UCL as the cherry on the icing?? Yes he did so Graeme needs to maybe take it easy.
I still say Grealish will be off by the end of this season. If they can recoup some of the money they'll sell him.
I get where Graeme is coming at it from but it's not the 1970's or 80's now mate. U need to let that go.
I agree with him about this new kid putting the pressure on Grealish. If somebody can get Grealish for 50mil they'll jump at it. I think Grealish has won the trophies he wanted to win and now he's dropped off.
I know for a fact he does not enjoy being told he cannot keep the ball at his feet. I know it. I would say he resents Pep for taking that out of his game.
I’m a city fan, and I have to agree with this. I hate seeing him get the ball because all he does is go down the line and then eventually cut inside if he doesn’t lose it. There is so many times that he has a cross on early and doesn’t see it. Instead he take forever trying to take on one defender and then cut inside just to take a finesse shot that is either gonna miss the net or get blocked. I get that he helps us get fouls, but why is that even valuable to us when we don’t have a big team, we rarely score off the free kicks he concedes. I always thought we overpaid for him, is he a good player? Yes! Of course, I won’t say he isn’t, he helped us win a treble. But when you see Doku come in and do what he does, you have to question grealish. Doku does exactly what grealish does but actually with more intensity and is way way faster then him
“Why because you were that good?”…. Yes Jim he was that good.
👋🏾👋🏾👍🏾
Bellingham is an 100M player. Grealish is a great player but he's a bit negative.
Whenever Grealish starts for England they struggle to hurt the opposition. !!
Souness is spot on, I’ve been waiting for someone to mention how poor Grealish is for some time. From when Cancelo was there Grealish would just receive the ball take 2-3 touches and play it back to Cancelo. He offers nothing to city, Pep knows this he’s playing him for the sake of it because he bought him. Other City players have been carrying jack for seasons. Soon has city start losing in a game jack off then city look more dangerous and make a come back. Villa jack was different, He’s never adapted to peps football and I believe a lot of he's smiles are fake, Deep down he’s not really enjoying he’s football at city.
But in all of this you gotta ask yourself where was Paul pogba
Sir Simon = Top LAD Proper Clobber 💯 Facts
i'd have Grealish in a heartbeat at Man U, and tell him to play like he did at Villa.....Pep has stifled a real talent.
His legs are gonna go in the next few years. He’s almost 29 now. Villa you saw him at his best early to mid-20’s.
Why do we feel the need to criticise everything ? Are we affraid of a little void ?
Gordon has to start at the euros and Saka on the other side
He’s never been a player that goes down the byline, he’s always gone inside. But now he can’t make mistakes he’s not told to take on a player and produce magic because pep has a specific way of playing, not wingers for pep cut back and play it back inside.
Grealish is vastly over rated.
Graham Souness comparing the football of the 80s to the modern game is hilarious.
Why?
The fundamentals never change, you sound very young and naive
TalkSPORT have massively dropped a bollock getting this absolute *PRATT* *Graeme Sourness* back on the air.
Grealish does have a product, run 20 meters and fall over or run 20 meters give a 5 meter hospital pass to City player previously unmarked now marked
😂
Every player that played for City last season was "integral" to the treble - don't make out Jack was the guy that tipped the balance (it was Haaland), he just happened to be the winger in the team with no competition. Swap Sterling or Doku in for him last season, and the results would have been the same. Except for the LW would have done more throughout the season in G/A.
He's had a problem since he's been there
Grealish drank a bit too much after the treble didn't he? Now he plays like a player whose lost hos edge. Never over celebrate because it may take more motivation to get back to the same level. That is dopamine maths. No different from drugs.
Applying the "too many touches" logic championed by Graeme Souness, players who dabbled in midfield positions at various points in their careers, including Maradona, Messi, Zico, Paolo Futre, and anyone else you'd care to think of with a tendency for "too many touches", would "not see the full picture" and would be better placed on the substitute's bench. Nonsense.🦖
They mixed it up and usually those touches advances the game. Interestingly, maradona's solo goal was 11 touches in eleven seconds covering 60 yards. What does Grealish do in 11 touches. Probably falls over for a free kick on halfway three times.
He was a PR signing to enhance their sportswashing reputation because he was seen as the "golden boy" of English football. Same reason they wanted the England captain Harry Kane.
I don't know why Pep signed Jack Grealish, simply because Grealish is a dribbler and it does not fit into the quick, passing Man City team.
He signed him to keep him from rivals...
Because Pep is obsessed with players keeping the ball, it’s the same reason Sterling got dropped because he kept losing the ball, Grealish doesn’t do that he never loses it
Dude's not the exciting dribbly winger he was at Aston Villa. He sucks now.
' Winning free kicks from fouls ' 🤣 What a stupid non skill attribute simply because he's English and has to be shown to be useful. 🥱
If you're a full back you'd be more terrified of the prospect of defending against Doku not overrated ' can't dribble past players ' Grealish.
Pep bought Grealish in order not to allow ManU to spend needlessly.
He signed him to have a squad capable of winning the treble and Champions League.
Doku is way better than Grealish!
Grealish❤ so good. Takes touches and draws opponents in. Creates space for other players. That’s what pep sees and that’s why he’s a city player winning everything there is to win
As utd fan you should be talking about rashford with this topic
It's pretty bloody obvious pep wants Jack to track back and defend so not getting the best out of him attacking wise
Jack was finished from the moment Doku came into the door. Pep always managed amazing wingers from Barça, to Bayern, then City. Grealish is the worst all of them so far.
He came into the door? Lol
I mentioned the 1970/80's but I forgot to say that was when I was a young kid watching Liverpool and Graeme, etc doing their thing. Graeme was a top player who gave it everything in every game. I get why he calls these players out but when society makes excuses for lazy ppl this is what u get. Grealish has become lazy and entitled.
KLOPP would not buy him now. I would like to see him in Spain or Italy to see how he'd cope there..
Its unfair to compare grealish to Scholes.
Scholes is one of the best midfielders we’ve seen in the Prem.
Souness has a valid point, but his delivery isn't the best. When Grealish went to City, my first thought was he isn't a Pep kind of player. That is not to say he isn't a talent. John Terry is a good example. No one can deny that he was a world-class defender. Easily top 5 of the last 25 years. Could he ever play for? I doubt it.
Jack Grealish is a world class star, he’ll leave city when the oil club get relegated and he’ll go onto a bigger club
Souness is right. Grealish only got on because Doku got injured. Doku has got everything Grealish has but has got tons of pace and that scares defenders.
that bit about who would buy grealish, and simon mentioning manchester united had me in absolute stitches. its sooo true. they'd probably pay even more for grealish then city did!
never was a 100 mil footballer, but city don't care b/c they are cheating anyway.
I agree with Graeme about Grealish. It may be a stretch, however to say that Grealish hasn’t performed when you look at the minutes he’s played. If your going to cut inside then take that quick shot far post….too many touches. Thing of it is, I don’t see the problem….Pep has two guys for that spot that play exactly the same darting style wing. If your going to go off on anyone, it should be Pep for playing Gvodiol. Or taking out Foden for the Chia pet.
Ive noticed grealish is a bit of one trick pony and im not even that into football any more
He just plays the modern game well,in terms of the media, image etc
All the constant hate for Grealish is ridiculous. Not all the best players score hundred of goals, hes a brilliant player
He's nowhere near the best players.
Bang average
He's nowhere near the best players.
Bang average
He is side pass, back pass, dive .thousands of player play better than him and cheaper.
Brilliant? Up your standards mate 🤦♂️. He's decent at best 🥱
Jack Grealish is traditionally number 10 and not a winger, it was Pep Guardiola who turned him into a winger, for aston villa he was a number 10.
When to hold on and when to pass is difference between good player and great player.
Probably isn’t playing in the same position he did at AVFC and that limits him in a lot of ways as he has to be more disciplined. In City’s team Doku is more of a threat against big teams, in tight games I think Grealish might be more effective. Wasn’t worth the price tag (who is) maybe if he was 45 million people would say a lot less. Good player in an outstanding team
He defo not playing same position as AVFC.
So Souness was right all along then like he was about Pogba
Does Bernardo Silva take too many touches as well WTF us he talking about
Sane is now better than all their wingers
I completely agree with Souness 100%. Grealish slows everything down.
Simon, one correction : Grealish played 50 games in all competitions last season. The number 28 you mentioned is the number of games he played in the premier league alone.
5 goals in 50games for an attacker. Lol mind you haaland had just as many assists as greelish
He made a fool of Jim White with his Paul Pogba comment 😂😂
I get his point, but its a team game, if everyone refused to be on the bench then where would we be, in house fighting would be constant
Hes bang on, he gets the ball, legs it about abit then either flops on the floor or no end product.
The expression "flatters to deceive" is tailor made for individuals such as Grealish. Living off those fleeting and all too rare moments where what he does actually leads to anything.
Dwelling on the ball and number of touches are two different things. Modern football is missing those pure footballers who could run and past players, the dribblers and is all the more poorer for it. George Best, John Barnes, Ginola, those are the players that get you on the edge of your seat.
