      @@dianeintino9208 Try slowing down your stitch speed. Also, it may help to use a denim needle. Hope this helps!

    Do you protect the coaster with any protective covering ie. deco podge or scotch guard?

    • @TheBirchCottage
      @TheBirchCottage  Год назад

      Hi, Peggy. I have used Scotchgard Fabric & Crafts Spray - amzn.to/3MjvqiP. But, I've also made plenty of coasters without the protectant spray. It does help to prevent stains from settling into the cotton rope. I guess it's a matter of personal preference. If you use the protectant spray, you will have to reapply each time after you wash the coasters. I hope this helps!

    Did you make the coasters? Do you have a tutorial for making the coasters?

    • @TheBirchCottage
      @TheBirchCottage  Год назад

      I did make the coasters! The coasters are basically made the same way as the rope baskets, if you're familiar with those. Anyway, I do have a video tutorial on how I made the rope coasters:

      I hope this helps!

    Love your coasters! If you use cut away or tear away stabilizer on the back, do you cover the back at all?

    • @TheBirchCottage
      @TheBirchCottage  Год назад +1

      I do not cover the back. I trim away the jump threads and as much of the stabilizer as I can.

      @@glorypetyo7162 That's awesome. I would definitely take advantage of the lessons, if that's an easy option for you! There's also a couple of Facebook groups dedicated to machine embroidery. I've found them very helpful and inspiring. Here's one that is specific to Brother Machine Embroidery users: facebook.com/groups/brothermachineembroidery/
