Damn the sounds of this beast are very crispy! Dual stackable verb plus the neuro extras plus a freeze, def one of the best pedals to come out this year! Brilliant demo man!
This was the best video I have seen on a reverb pedal, loved the presentation, loved your playing, there are very few demos out there where someone actually knows what to do with shimmer. Every demo of this pedal has been just ok but yours was fantastic!
Really great demo. I love the fact that you actually play different stuff that is relative to the settings instead of just strumming some chords for every setting like most people do
I absolutely love the way you play and use this reverb, beautiful! Bro, if you ever pass through el Paso texas, hit up Star City Studio, come record or something. sounds rad.
I love my Ventris and use it with my real tube amps. I also own a Kemper, so I was curious what your opinion is if you had to compare the Ventris reverbs to the Kemper reverbs. My feeling is that one isn't better than the other, but just different, but I wanted your opinion since you know a little (ha ha - just kidding - you know tons) about the Kemper. Thanks!
Really like this. Thorough demo. Lots of space to play around with. Love the lo-fi option. I'm into distorted reverbs and the low fi option with a bit of crunch before it maybe. Good stuff
Man, I don't know why but it's always the weird sounds that get me. I would buy immediately if SA released that LoFi reverb as a single pedal. Seems like its bit crushing and detuning at the same time? I love it
@@ToneJunkieTV Your current style seems a lot more natural honestly. Probably a big reason it's been successful. Don't get me wrong, the demo is great, but you're reading from a script (I assume) and it's dry. Lots of channels already do that.
Would the reverse setting on this sound anything like an SPX90 or Midiverb2? Would love to try this thing out and maybe even take the spots of my other verbs and echo pedals.
I love that Lo-fi setting there but I feel that just that one algorithm comes at a too steep price for me. Any ideas of a pedal that would come close to that setting without being crazy deep and expensive?
Great Video! To my great astonishment, after I tested the Ventris, I found out that the "Ext.Midi Clock Sync" function described in the manual is not provided by Source Audio. I think that's a major shortcoming and would like to ask you to write also to Source Audio in order to achieve a speedy firmware update that implements the Midi Sync feature! The Nemensis Delay has this feature! So both devices would complement each other completely. Thanks a lot and greetings!
I really love my nemesis (x2) but with what I've seen I don't think it sounds better than the RV-500. I really want to but I just can't and the Neuro editor doesn't seem nearly as comprehensive or logical as the RV500s. I will say without a doubt that Swell, Reverse and Offspring settings may eventually get me on board. Blah blah blah I'll probably end up buying one.
Really beautiful demo! Can I ask if you're running a slight OD pedal over the 'lo-fi' reverb? Seemed to me that the yellow pedal was on. Thanks for sharing!!
When set to the A mode or the B mode a single reverb is active. Those control correspond to different controls per algorithm, like maybe dwell or modulation. When it A+B mode two reverbs become active and those controls become mix knobs for the A reverb and the B reverb.
I have the empress. This does the dual engine thing. So I'm curious how they believe this unit compares. Not always easy to tell with the YT compression and all.
This sounds fantastic! May I ask what your recording line order is? Also the riff when you demoed the reverse was awesome! Did you come up with that or is it a song?
John Paul O'Hara - thanks! Glad you like it. Signal chain was Tele > Board > Kemper (Tone Junkie HW Beauty Profile) > Universal Apollo > Logic. Nothing in post was added. All the songs were improvised; no actual songs were used.
My only complaint about this pedal after owning it is the position of the inputs/outputs and particularly the MIDI in/thru. Ends up defeating the point of the pedals smaller footprint compared to the Big Sky. Wish they’d have atleast just put both MIDI inputs on the same side. Otherwise it’s a great pedal!
Well, I don't know to be honest. I thought the Room reverb was not really roomy? It was more like a hall reverb with tails. That confined room reverb is very important to me and I did not hear it in this video. Also it seems to me that all reverb engines had this airy-shimmery thing in them. I might be wrong as I did not yet try the unit my self but based on this video I don't think I would like the reverbs really.
You can dial in subtle, no worries there. The boxy room thing is very possible. Having EQ for both treble and bass, you can dial in a darker sounding room, or a brighter sounding tile bathroom type sound. You don't have to get airy with it, but you can get VERY ambient if you want to.
I fully agree. I mean, no offence, but I get sick of the reverb effect that sounds too much like an EFFECT. It's often waaay too bright and way too interesting in its own way. It takes away from your playing and just leaves you jerking off to the sounds it produces. However, there are some pedals out there which sit well in a mix and don't completely take over... like the Catalinbread Talisman and Free the Tone Ambi Space AS-1R.
Wow that reverb sounds amazing! But that guitar 😱 my God, it sounds awesome!! What pickups are those??? And what gear you’re using? I’m really enjoying what you guys are doing 💪🏼
psychotic memories - it’s out now. Available from their website, they are building as fast and they can to meet demand. Source Audio dealers should also be getting them
Thank you Peter- appreciate it. Amp is a Kemper run in stereo. Tone Junkie profile (can't recall which one). Tele is a stock Squier Cabronita, with stock pickups.
Thanks for posting this awesome video - great, great clips! The riffs you chose perfectly highlight each reverb engine. TJTV rules!
Very nicely demoed! A lot of players just don't seem to adapt their playing properly to display the strengths of the unit, the way you did. 👍
So far the best demo on the Ventris I have seen. 🙌👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have absolutely loved mine so far! A very well thought out pedal that seems to already offer something new that I hadn’t figured out before.
Dude you did such an amazing demo of this pedal. I ordered one and am so excited now. Some of the other demos I saw got me nervous. Killer job!
Very good demo with superb playing and catchy riffs, you gained a new subscriber
I just ran across the source audio website tonight and I love the verb and delay pedals. Already added to my list of pedals to get.

Wow, both you and the pedal are amazing!!
Beautiful playing dude. Especially the E-dome part.
Very nicely done. Tasteful and to the point with a very powerful pedal. Thanks!

Good stuff
Great demo and set up. Love the source stuff. my kingmaker knocked 4 samplers off my board. keep up the fantastic work.
Damn this is an awesome demo man! All hail The Ventris!!!
Love the offspring and reverse settings. Great playing!
First Shimmer algorithm I've EVER heard that actually sounds good.
Well done for producing a shimmer preset that doesn't make me want to jump out of the nearest window screaming😵😉
source audio should hire you...awesome playing and demo. thank you
Oh wow that "hold" function allows me to harmonize over my own echo, that's really handy for solo performances.
U should check out the Neunaber Immerse 2 for even more vast reverbs.. Although I'd love one of these too..😁
Gorgeous reverb and great demo 👍🏻
This thing sounds ridiculously good.
Really like the sound of that Lo-Fi. That riff you played sounded mint!
drockny - thanks very much!! 🤘
Stellar playing and tones, nice.
This is the best reverb I've ever heard. Buying one as soon as my wallet permits.
Beautiful sounding Reverb. Wow, @5:11 sounds like angelic clouds/ pads accompanying the Guitar. The Sound is so crisp and pristine...👍🏻🎶
I think I’m going to sell my strymon after watching this. Holy crap! That thing sounds awesome!!!
I'm going to sell my grandma to get this
it sounds like peace to not have to buy another :)
I did just that. No regrets!
@@scarymike51 does it Have a Sound that beats The Cloud?

Great demo....sounds beautiful 😎
Awesome demo!

Best Reverb I've ever heard . Hands down
They lie ohio ever heard the mercury 7?
To me this sounds better than the Strymon Big Sky and Boss RV 500
@@legatomodi3522 Ventris is better and more flexible for like $50 more its a no brainer

Clearly Amazing! Just Beautiful!!!This One Stands Out w True Soul Built In!🎼⛅🎸Thank You For Your Artistry and Talent For Us To Experience🎓🌎
GREAT video, but what are your Tele's specs and what is your signal chain?
Any plans on making patches for the neuro app to download?
Watching this 6 years later, one can't help but be struck by how radically different your channel is now. This was a great demo tho.
Do you prefer the changes? It seems like an eternity ago we made this.
@@ToneJunkieTV Your current style seems a lot more natural honestly. Probably a big reason it's been successful. Don't get me wrong, the demo is great, but you're reading from a script (I assume) and it's dry. Lots of channels already do that.
@11:09 is the trem effect coming from the ventris reverb???? Or is it a separate trem pedal being engaged?
TheElwinC it’s part of the reverb algorithm with mod verb you can dial it in.
Currently trying decide between this and the SD Silverlake... Anyone with any advice? Also... HA I'm like #420 maybe it's a sign!
witch soundcard is used ? Audient iD14 ?
This or the Collider?
Great demo! I haven't seen anyone on RUclips demoing this pedal's ability to cascade one reverb into another in series; was this actually implemented?
Would the reverse setting on this sound anything like an SPX90 or Midiverb2? Would love to try this thing out and maybe even take the spots of my other verbs and echo pedals.
I love that Lo-fi setting there but I feel that just that one algorithm comes at a too steep price for me. Any ideas of a pedal that would come close to that setting without being crazy deep and expensive?

Olá amigos, alguém sabe algum site que vende este pedal?
Hello friends, does anyone know which website sells this pedal?
Quando descobrir me avise amigo, também estou muito interessado.
Can you post the dialed settings of the sounds please?
ABDIEL PECINA Music - these were made on the spot and not saved. Sorry!

I dont see MIDI cable plugged to the Ventris and Nemesis.. whats the MC6 for?
Abner Jr. Paredes - those go to the Source Audio HUB, and that sends MIDI to all the other pedals 🤘
Hi,Where can I find your preset?
What amp(s) are you using in this demo? Or how is the signal path?
Håkon Moen - this is guitar>pedals>Kemper, can’t recall the amp profile
hummmm should I stick to my Immerse or buy this... that is the questions.
Oh the Immerse 2 is godly🤘
Really beautiful demo! Can I ask if you're running a slight OD pedal over the 'lo-fi' reverb? Seemed to me that the yellow pedal was on. Thanks for sharing!!
Good demo, I’m totally veering towards the Nemesis and Ventris...What kind of midi switch is that on your board?
Great job! Subscribed 💙
Wait, why do control 1 and control 2 knobs control A + B? Shouldn't they be called control A and control B?
When set to the A mode or the B mode a single reverb is active. Those control correspond to different controls per algorithm, like maybe dwell or modulation. When it A+B mode two reverbs become active and those controls become mix knobs for the A reverb and the B reverb.
Do you know if that means that you could use the expression pedal to control the mix of an individual reverb? Or even crossfade them?
Ventris or strymon Bigsky? What the choice?
Ventris.
Immerse Mark 2..😁
Nice! What are the 2 pedals in the bottom right corner of your pedal board?
Tochiro Mifune - on the left is the Source Audio HUB to control all the pedals with MIDI. The right is the Morningstar MC6 to send MIDI to the HUB.
Sounds swell! How does this stack up against the Empress Reverb?
"Sounds swell" Pun intended? LOL
Who cares you'll spend the same amount of money. Try both?
Yes, pun intended.
I have the empress. This does the dual engine thing. So I'm curious how they believe this unit compares. Not always easy to tell with the YT compression and all.

What midi switcher are you using?
Alan Humble it's a Morningstar mc6
Loving the effects and the sound of your guitar. Is it a Squire Deluxe?
Richie Rich - standard squire Cabronita

Totally agree, great point
Killer demo
Well, if only I could get the half of it for half the price... my reverb needs are modest but I am pretty discerning about good tone.
Only 4 presets?
Filipi Freitas - can do 4 or 8 from the pedal itself and 127 MIDI presets
is that programmable? can save, can bank?
Nevin Mark Narciso - yes 8 on board presets and 128 with MIDI

Merc 7 imo. No shame in either.
Mercury 7 has too few features for that price tag. Ventris offers waay more value for what are still, stellar tones.
