@sourceaudioeffects An amazing pedal superbly demonstrated here. I'm sold. My use case is for a versatile pedal for general studio use, including an additional part of an existing warm/vintage vocal chain. The analog pass through is extremely welcome.
K just sold the cathedral reverb, and another old reverb box. Im getting this ASAP, wow. The mono dual channel thang alone is amazing, but this sounds amazing. And the spring algar.. is gorgeous.
Yes indeed - That's why he is so good at the A-AB-B toggle - Because he'd already figured it out via his dialectic theory of Thesis, Antithesis and Synthesis !
Oh my god this sounds amazing, and now I want the mini it sounds great also with this reverb, such beautiful tones coming out of this synth with this reverb.
What a lush and a large sounding reverb. Just love the different reverb's from this little box.... Won't be using my Lexicon much after buying this powerhouse of a reverb! / Daniel Fletcher of D.S. (a Swedish synthrock / synthpop group)
I have no idea what synth reverb pedal to get. I rarely hear a reverb I don't like. There's all sorts to choose from but I probably won't get to demo them. Ocean Machine, Big Sky, Space, Ventris, Caverns, Polara, Hall of Fame, MS70CDR, Empress Reverb and many many more. Same with Delay. Line 6 Helix LT looks tempting for an all in one or a Zoom g3n seems like a great cheap option.
There certainly is option paralysis these days. I would recommend just going to a good pedal store and demoing them til you find one you can’t not buy.
just bought one to use with minilogue xd --- yes it makes ambient sounds 5 times better - really - everything sounds cheap and nasty without now.you only need it if youre going huge and lush.
But where are the other engines they mentioned? Are they not out yet? There is only the metal box in the neuro menu which i´m not able to choose ..even after the latest update of ventris
+maN Œuvre I would love a side by side comparison of both, do you know anyone who has both or a video of both demoed using the same sounds on the same synths?
Weird Music No. I had to sell my Big Sky to fund my Ventris. In my opinion the Big Sky is great on guitars, shimmers etc. But for synths, Ventris is simply the best reverb I’ve ever heard. Lots of character. Excellent small room reverb designs. And a whole lot more.
1) Who wins on analog synths -- Ventris - Eventide Space - Empress - BigSky -- for all-around and playability (some reverbs always try and overtake the source)? 2) I've heard the BigSky sounds the best in a mix. Can anyone confirm?
strymon seems to have some coloration on their alogos. eventide space doesn't to my ears, it's the same sound coming back out w/ wonderful fx over it. empress didn't blow me away either, i think their coding needs a bit more nuance. eventide has the pedigree and knows their fx. of course delays are a different story, i'm talking only about reverb.
Seems a strange idea to me to have two reverbs at once. I guess you'd have to be very frugal with both in order to not totally drown the original sound. Seems Strymon esq for sure though which is not a bad thing!
Yeah, it just strikes me as unusual. It'd be very tempting to take it to the extreme and just let it all wash over you but I imagine the two in parallel when used sparingly can sound really nice and natural. Good stuff.
Id pay money for someone to shave Gaz and scrub him down with a big soapy brush. Maybe put him on an epidote of Queer Eye for the Stright Guy. Get him a suit...
This is wonderful. Thanks for spending so much time with our Ventris Dual Reverb, Nick and Gaz. You guys really found some great sounds.
Thank you for these awesome Pedals
what a pedal!

"Every unit with a MIDI In, should by law also have a MIDI Thru"
GET THAT ON THE STATUTE BOOKS RIGHT NOW. The Williams MIDI Act of 2018.
I think he said it as it at the beginning of the vid!!...
Here here (and this pedal does; I think you're just making a supporting statement for what Source Audio did).
The iOS editor for Neuro now supports the Ventris.
I love both you guys. Your passion for electronic instruments is evident and it's something needed in the world
The mini sounds so gooood with reverb.
any synth does

A comparison with the Meris Mercury 7 would be very interesting and most appreciated.
also the Specular Tempus
I can imagine Nick, Gazz, Dave Spiers and Mark Tinley forming a synth supergroup called SonicStatus Quo!
Good to see Karl Marx has found a new career, onwards and upwards.

@@dial108dnd Borrowed from Hegel, of course. ;-)
and working with Phil Silver as well
You two could do a live show with these two instruments and I would die to see it. I’d def. buy it. Think about it.
You guys always make the best reviews. Nick is so passionate and awesome !!!
Seeing this video has put me right off Strymon Big Sky. Ventris is the One to get for synth.
This year was to be the one I added an Eventide Space to the collection. Now I have something to think about.
Wow, sounds lovely.
Thanks for putting this plus a synth in a video.
I love my Ventris. Its wow , just wow. :) :)
Great Review.. double reverb - Gaz and Nick - double trouble!

Outstanding gentlemen.

Right from the start of this I'm getting a radiohead... amnesiac... Kid a vibe.... Great stuff
Yes, nailed it. Spot on. Very Kid A sounds.
thank you guys .got the nemesis already..excited
"I'm off!" Love it Nick
It's as mountainous as Gaz's beard. Want one!

I have this and Nemesis. Best pedals ever!
Love that ending.
This Ventris should be a live performance beast with an expression pedal plugged in. Sweet pedal!
Do you recommend for bass?
How inspiring and addictive. Thank you for posting!
Wow .... thats sounds amazing .... ya a few fun Fridays on this would be great .

I'm reminded of those tiny little bits of dust that fly around in your car when you turn the blowers on.
This pedal guarantees to make you pull some great faces by the look of Nick's during this demo. It's that GOOD !!!

9:27 is all I need to see to buy it, that face loool! Awesome I love you man, I'm off 13:21 perfect!
Should I get this or the Strymon BigSky?
I sold my Big Sky. And bought the Ventris. Much better variety of reverb effects. More suited to synth production. Stunning!
VENTRIS!
+maN Œuvre I would love a side by side comparison of both, do you know anyone who has both or a video of both demoed using the same sounds on the same synths?
+maN Œuvre I need to see a side by side synth comparison of both....all I can find is a guitar one.....someone please make it.
Anyone know what the blue jack plugs are called or where I could get them please?
Yessss been waiting for this video!
Hey Nick and Gaz! Great review! Will you guys be doing any of the new SE Boomstar MKIIs?
which one is Schnauss and which is Eno?
Is there any other pedals similar in functions but cheaper? Some claim Eventide Space oder H9 or good alternatives. What would expert say?
9:27 💙🎶🙌🏼
you've given me GAS again...
Did u guys just said SoSodio? :D Btw iam impressed, so many options for a small pedal
Think this may have supplanted the Strymon Big Sky on top of my wish list...mmm.
The $400 pricetag for a reverb pedal makes it much less apealing.
jup, i'll just stay close to my verbzilla :) and that zoom CDR 70 iz dirt cheap and can sound pretty good
Brilliant
you know this is a special pedal when you can't find it on the guitar center website...but find it on Ebay
strymon Killer ??:)
Absolutely.
YES!

You might want to use it as two independent FX no? Set up as a two sends from a mixer or two instruments - one into each engine. Lots of options
Yeah, it just strikes me as unusual. It'd be very tempting to take it to the extreme and just let it all wash over you but I imagine the two in parallel when used sparingly can sound really nice and natural. Good stuff.
dual reverbs is VERY useful for many applications. Like 2 delays running in paralel/series [in stereo is even better]
Cool. Never heard of people doing that before. Sounds like it could be great.
You find it a lot in ambient players rigs.
Shootout: This vs. RV-500... I'm leaning RV500 because of more ability to edit so much on unit, vs needing to dive into an editing app...
can we all agree to leave the shimmer algos along with all those post rock bands back in the naughties and not use it anymore?
"Oh my" haha
They need a Eurorack form factor. And ditch the Shimmer.
Karl Marx sure knows his reverbs 🤘
They should not talk one over the other!!...one at a time guys!!...
Id pay money for someone to shave Gaz and scrub him down with a big soapy brush. Maybe put him on an epidote of Queer Eye for the Stright Guy. Get him a suit...
Danke :hat1:
To wet is never nice! 😜 Greetz👍✌️
Sorry, this was a bad one...
Bad ?
