I crochet (actually more than one) a pattern quite a while back you had a tutorial on. I don't know what happened but you dropped off my subscriptions. I am so glad this popped up on my feed. Seeing this stopped me in my tracks. I love this so much, and I will have to make it no doubt.
What a great poncho-cardigan! I'm making this pattern in coral (ombre) yarn. It is very enjoyable to Crochet it. Thanks for sharing this great pattern.
Hi Luli! Thank you very much! I really want you to tell me all about crocheting this poncho, it will take a lot of time! I love patterns that need a lot of work! Warm regards from Greece Mary
Luli Lobo Hi Mary, it's so nice to get your reply! Thank you! Your country is the one I want to visit one day. I just started (3 weeks ago) an online Greek course. I too love Crochet, from small to big projects. I'm not afraid of long projects at all. :) I have a few projects on the go, so I'm not sure if I will finish this poncho anytime soon, but I will send you a picture when it's done. In the future,nI'll have my own RUclips channel and would love to teach your pattern and, of course, I will mention you as the creator of the pattern and will post a link to your channel. Can I do that? Thanks, Luli 1 second ago
Lyli thank you! I am afraid you cant teach my patterns as I a making videos myself and they are copyrigt of me channel but I am glad you like them , we will be w good company to each other!
Yes, I understand the copyright thing, that's why I would include your channel link and say I am not the creator of the pattern , but you are. It woukd promote you and your channel. But I will respect you not wanting your specific pattern out there.
Yes, we can be good company to each other with our channels. My videos would also be in Portuguese, that's one of the reasons I would like to teach your pattern. Most people in Brazil don't have a complete understanding of the English language and would never be able to follow videos in English.
Hi Elizabeth! Thank you so much!! Yes I see what you say , this is more like a loose cardigan!! I use to wear cardigans a lot so I make many of them, but I sm thinking of making a real poncho also, let's see! Let me know if you make this one. Warm regards from Greece Mary.
Love the name, love the poncho even more! I was just about to start a pullover, but this is what I'm starting instead. I just know my daughter is going to want one too! TY so much💜💜💜
Hi Vicky I am glad you will do the poncho! Ok ...it takes time but it's enjoying as it's not difficult and I believe it's worth it! Let me know how it's going, take care of measurements as everyone of us crochets in a different way so width and length are important! Regards Mary!
Merry Mary Stories I enjoy larger projects, it's my therapy! Thank you for the tip, I often forget yo measure properly and to measure as I go, which you know means ripping out and redoing, if you have a way I can send a picture of the finished poncho, I'd be glad to show you. Thanks again, be well. 💜
I will do that. I just looked at the yarn you used and it's not only pretty and drapes beautifully, but extremely affordable! I love it when that happens! Blessed day💜
Thank you Luli, it's a relief that the accent is not bad. I love Brazil, my sister has visited Rio de Janeiro and she loved the country! In Greece many people learn how to dance samba!
@@merrymarystories1620... Yes ma'am I will. I'm going to wait until I can get the yarn I want first. I've already made one before that was more fitted with a hood and I love it. It's made with the granny stitch. I think Anno is where I saw it on RUclips. Thanks for the reply and have a blessed day.
This is lovely, but would love to see this with some sort of pattern. So, the idea to start is to make 4 of this same piece? And at the end of row 23, stop the increase and crochet the last 7 rows of the 30 rows regularly with no added increasing?
Hi Ruby! here is the written pattern on my blog merrymarystories.blogspot.com/2018/10/easy-crochet-cardigan-free-pattern.html , and YES you will make 4 pieces for the body A, B, C,D have a look at my sketch. Yes after row 23 you are going to be working rows 24-30 without increasing , just normal rows keeping the number of your sts the same, tell me all about it when you finish crocheting! regards Mary
@@merrymarystories1620 thank you. Not quite what I meant by pattern. I meant it would be nice to see this with some sort of pattern like hearts, leaves, cable stitch, etc. But it's all good 🎂
When you first start showing us the sewing, which sides are the shoulders? The straight side or the side we increased the stitches on? I'm confused about how to see it together. Sorry. 😳
Hi Judy so nice to talk !! Well I think it's not a much bigger hook so it will be ok! Just check your length, you may need to crochet a few chains less or no if you are a tall person and not short like me and go on!! PA Is Philadelphia? Sorry I am Greek so j don't know! It's great we talk to each other from such a big distance, let me know if you do this, send s photo! Regards Mary

Hi Mary, I love this poncho. I and doing one for a very petite lady, she does not like hoods will this work out adding the hood. She is about 5 feet tall and a very tiny little lady, maybe weighs 100 pounds. Thanks you, Bonnie Jester
Hi Bonnie!! I a glad you will make this poncho! Well first of all chain a less long foundation chain so you height is about 10-14 cm shorter. Then work rows until your piece measures about 38-40 cm wide and not 45 cm as mine. As for the hood you can make a collar instead. Leave about 46 cm neck opening and work exactly as I do for the hood , a rectangle of 46 cm width and 16 cm height. Fold it in half lengthwise and sew it on to the neck line opening. The folding part of the collar should meet the neck opening! This way you will get a poncho with collar. I will wait to hear from you!! regards Mary
Hi Marjorie. I increase at the beginning of rows 3, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23. Read my pattern on my blog merrymarystories.blogspot.com/2018/10/easy-crochet-cardigan-free-pattern.html, have a nice summer! Regards Mary!
Hi Beryl!! I thought of it and it would be one piece but I had to decrease and mirror the 2 parts and I decided that for some crocheters that would sound a little bit tricky, so to make 4 similar panels sounds easier. But you can do it of course and it will be more beautiful without the back cantral seam. Tell me all about it if you make it!! warm regards from Greece Mary!
I think I’ll give it a go without the seams, because as you say, it would look , to my mind anyway, much more professional. I really like your pattern. There are lots of crotcheted cardigans/ ponchos etc, that I just wouldn’t wear, but I really like this one. Well done.
