    Hello Noah, I just ran across your video. My wife and I just bought this same camper in Feb 2023. We have taken it out 4 times and so far have not had any problems with it. It has been a good camper for us. I heard you say you had not used the fireplace because you are from South Texas. We live in Houston, but traveled with the camper to New Bruanfels back in November when It was a little cold out and the fireplace actually put out some pretty good heat, so we did not even need to run the heater during the day. Plan on taking it out again soon. Just waiting for the weather to warm up.

      Hi! We also live in Houston and have had several winter camping trips since this video was made. Unless it is very cold, like low thirties, we use just the fireplace for heat. It does a good job. Enjoy the trailer!

    Thank You So Much, for this review. I bought a New Camper a year ago, (my first), and now after using it, a few times, isn't just what I need. This camper is Perfect for my needs, and your review is so helpful in my decision making process. I am going to purchase this model.

    Tip we got from a repairman. Do not put the water filter on the trailer, put it on the spigot. It puts stress on the connection and causes damage.

    Thanks for the nice review. We just got our 2021 Wildwood 22RBS (same trailer, slight color scheme differences) last month. We had the same fuse issue with our slide. The dealership service tech told us we likely held the button too long as the slide came out. He said to let go once you here the first click. We’ve only been out once so time will tell if that solves the issue. Like you, just a couple minor things but overall we love it!

      The rack is designed to ratchet when it reached the stroke limit. Its like that to protect the mechanism from over-stressing. Obviously, it makes sense to turn it off when you hear that sound, but it is not the cause of over-current. The fuse blows because most likely the slide is not adjusted properly or its crooked causing the rack to jam which overloads the motor. Just because it goes in/out doesn't mean its set up correctly. Very common problem with build quality

    Really enjoyed the video. We're really struggling to pick out the right trailer (1st time), not too big/small. Like this one. We have f-150 w/5.0, will that pull it comfortably? (similar specs to your ram). Empty nesters w/2 dogs (Lab & Dachshund) and occasional guest, enough room? Thanks for all! Ned D.

      I think my Ram pulls it surprisingly comfortably for a “half-ton” truck. We have made multiple cross country trips. Fuel economy gets really poor at speeds beyond 70 though. Running 60-65 I get around 8.5 mpg. Which isn’t bad for the weight. The chassis of the truck handles the load very well. I did add some SES brand bump stops to my truck. You just pull out the factory ones and push in the aftermarket ones. It took me about 10 minutes to do. This helped with the sag because the truck was a little low in the back with the stock set up. I’ve been told Rams are notorious for that when hauling and I talked to a guy with an F-150 pulling a similar trailer who said he had no issue with sag, but his truck was 4X4 so it probably had stiffer springs.
      As for the room we took a couple to the river with us for a weekend over the summer. They slept on the spare bed and liked it enough that they were willing to go back with us a month later. Now we didn’t have our 3 chihuahuas that trip but room was no issue. I can promise you they wouldn’t have come if we were in a tent. haha. Good luck with your purchase and enjoy the adventure of trailer camping!

      I just came across the video, but I will say if you have a 2021+ F-150 with the 5.0 add Roadmaster Active Suspension. It's amazing and won't change your ride when not hauling a trailer. Also highly recommend getting a weight distribution hitch.

    Hello! We are looking at getting the 2023 version. Looks like you posted this about a year ago. How has it held up since you initial are this video? Any major issues?

      No major issues. Several little issues that warranty covered. It hasn’t been perfect but I’d buy it again if I had to do it again. Enjoy your 2023!

    Great video. Thanks man!
    Q1: How well does the air conditioner keep the camper in the summer heat?
    Q2: Does the awning have a mechanical override point on it where you can put a socket on it when it fails?

    • @noahbianchi1920
      @noahbianchi1920  2 года назад +2

      Hi, thanks for watching! We had the rv set up for a week in Beaumont, Texas in the hottest summer in recent memory. It was over 100 and full sun where we were. The a/c did okay. If you keep the windows closed and didn’t use the stove or go in and out a bunch it would keep it at 73 and cycle on and off. If you were gone the whole day it had no problems. The days I was “working from home” in the RV with my computers running, the stove running to make coffee, and going outside a bunch for breaks it didn’t do so well. The temp would climb into the high 70s and not come down until the sun started to set.
      Yes, the awning does have a manual override that is a socket you can use a cordless drill with but you would need a ladder to get to it.

    I looked at this model at the RV show. We really liked it. And it seems like Salem's build quality still seems ok during these weird times.

    • @noahbianchi1920

      We have had very little trouble with the build quality. You have to remember that none of the RV’s are built as well as you would like. I am very happy with the amount of features that you get with the Salem Forest River. Everything is power.

    Hi Noah - thanks for the review! We ordered our 22rbs and can’t wait for it to come in. I’m curious to know what size TV you mounted - it looks like the perfect size!

      Do you think a 50 would work? We just bought this camper this week and we already have a 50 inch TV, would rather not buy a new one if don't need to.

      @@brittanyswee you could measure to be sure - I think it will be very close or hang over a bit

  • @saltcar

    Your fuse problem is most likely a jammed slide or rack assembly. The motor is being stressed and it will pull too much current causing fuse to blow. To be honest, most RV's are slapped together and have assembly issues.

    Pretty set on the 22RBS for summer 2021. Did you look at the wildwood 22rbs at all? How does it tow behind your half-ton?

    • @jacquelynebianchi9873
      @jacquelynebianchi9873 3 года назад +1

      We did look at the Wildwood and we liked the placement of the sink on the Salem better. Also we preferred the simpler sofa because it was roomier with all of our pups. lol

      It has a black tank and a gray tank with a dump for each routed through the main dump line. The trailer is still holding up well. We haven’t had any big issues.
