Beating Laxasia without Attacking || Only Dealing Damage from Parries || Lies of P

- Phase 1: Perfect guard to break the weapon (this immediately triggers phase 2). Phase 2: Perfect guard the lightning bolts to deal damage. The rest is just trying to survive. This was a good way to get a little better at phase 2. There are still attacks I haven't learned, but I'm slowly getting a feel for the parries. Broadcasted live on Twitch -- Watch live at / riple0
For any questions on why it looks like I am just "holding block", check out the video I made here: ruclips.net/video/fN04afV7MTI/видео.htmlsi=jAtcBzqCNKrcSdSl
@riple0, Please 🙏 share your Build
@nbleys5696 this was a while ago. What it exactly did you want to know?
@@riple0 I asked for your build. Maybe I could respect and try it.
@nbleys5696 I don't know how I'm going to detail all this here 😆 ummm I don't remember my stats but mostly capacity. I had the best frame, the best insulation converter, and the best slash resistant liner on. Amulets are explained in the video I linked above. Golden Lie is the weapon. My POrgan focuses on guard regain, stamina preservation, durability consumption, the auto charge pulse cells. It's nothing particularly special. Just primarily defense.
How did I fight this boss about thirty times and NOT know that you could parry the lightning attacks in phase 2 and reflect back at her....What a masterpiece of a game and a masterpiece of a fight.
It happens XD I was just getting demolished in phase 2 on my first play and then thought for a second I saw the lightning bounce back. I tried again and was immediately left in awe :o
seriously, i was struggling so bad on this fight and never even thought to parry those
let's face it, fought her 30 times also means you'd probably not nail the parry on the lightning attacks. I know I didn't.
I parried everything, i did not think it would bounce back, but as a sekiro player, if it exists, parry.
You can also break her shield in phase one by hitting her back
I’ve tried not hitting bosses just to focus on learning their timings but I just can’t help myself. Whenever there’s an opening, my brain’s like “ATTAAACK! NOW! U MUST!” And I’m just like “yeah, ok, but just this once”. Every time.
Hey, there's nothing wrong with your playstyle. By the way, your username perfectly fits this comment 😆
when I do this tactic, I don’t resist wide openings. It is a practise try so why not learn when to attack as well
@thatlittlemonstrosity That's a good point 😂 This was just a silly thing to do and I got lucky enough to pull it off. I thought it was funny just standing there staring at her between attacks thinking she's like "why aren't you doing anything you little punk!?"
@@riple0
ngl that does sound kinda funny
Hahaha we're on the same boat
This boss is so well done, I don't even get angry when I lose. Compared to the Door Guardian which was the most frustrating battle of all because that guy just felt like an afterthought taking up my time with clunky mechanics.
door guardian teaches u about status ailments and how important consumables and armor is rather than just tacking on the heaviest shitt and call it a day, but at the end of the day if you are good at parrying nothing matters thats why the game is really heavy on feints and slow and fast attack to make it as challenging for parry gods as possible
@@bravey1995 there are several bosses who cause status effects, Door Guardian was just an unpolished turd.
Not the mention the insane run back anytime you die.
@@Apizur yes but none of them emphasizes the importance of it like door guardian when you beg on he’s leg for him to stop stomping you after running out of stamina
U tried her on ng+? It is where the balance of this boss is done wrong. Two hits to kill with full resists against electricity. It is doable as I managed to kill her but was definitely more fristrating tha fun. On contrary to fighting her on first playthrough. As for Door Guardian I felt like game tries to fk me up but then I just sticked to his right leg and dodged to the left side and went easy. Even on ng+
its so refreshing to see that everyone agrees this boss is so well done, I've yet to beat her and died probably 35 times yet Im loving her attacks. her first phased is so well telegraphed which is whi I feel some of the bosses in this game has artificial difficulty. reminded me of gna or the beserkers of GoW Ragnarok, its tough timing but I love being able to actually see every single swing come at me.
I don't agree that the boss is well telegraphed. Now that I have practiced a bit, I enjoy her fight a lot more, but I found her super frustrating to practice. Although there are some tweaks they could do to make her better, it's also partially my fault because I don't have the best reflexes. It's annoying when you encounter something that is just really high up on your own personal physical limitations, because there is not much you can do from there. Even if I memorize what every attack looks like and what to do, if my physical muscle response is not fast enough, I cannot do anything XD However, I'm glad you are finding the boss enjoyable! :D
@@riple0I do think she is well telegraphed in the first phase
@adamahmadzai2357 you're allowed to think that! It's just for me a lot of her timings are intentionally awkward (either a weird delay or weirdly fast). Now, I'll agree that you can "see" when each it attack is about to happen. But, for me telegraphic also includes the visual or audio cues giving you a feel of how to handle it. For me, it's more like I see the attack, and just have to remember the arbitrary timing. A well-telegraphed boss for me would be one I do not have to heavily memorize. Rather, it flows well enough that if you understand the game mechanics, you could do fine just by sight reading. If that makes sense?
any hard boss has telegraphed attack u need to memorize though@@riple0
@jvellis8005 I think the issue here is just me and you have a different definition of telegraphed attacks, and that's okay! :D
Very impressive. I didn’t even realize you could do that first part like that
Bro this fight was so fun to learn. Definitely one of my favorites
Edit: You guys hate this boss, while I'm stressed over Simon Manus AoG
and one of the hardest ^^
I would say thistle hardest
For sure super fun learning her fast combos.
I think you meant most infuriating
Manus isn't too bad. I found Brotherhood to be harder than Manus tbh. Especially abusing an advance build which hits him for way too much damage. NP on the other hand, I only lucked out with a Motivation build using Simons weapon.
Man that was impressive!, WHAT A LEVEL OF SKILL!. This will help me to improve on her second phase a lot.
It’s not skill…it’s just bullshit trial and error.
Every boss is not fun, you play them like 20 times, than you can do a no hit…
Aside for the swamp monster, everyone could do a guide for every monster.
Everyone finds different things fun and has different skill levels! I'm not sure I'd ever be able to do no hit even fighting more than 20 times with my reflexes, but other people have practiced a lot and are very skilled! Saying it's "only" just trial and error is an oversimplification just like saying it's all skill is an oversimplification. There's always a combination of practice and luck hoping everything goes right, and that differs from person to person making it problematic to try to assert such a blanket statement.
@@riple0 What an insanely kind and measured response to an unpleasant comment. Respect
I'm all for hearing everyone's different experiences, but I don't want to encourage putting each other down, and I like to try to give people chances to reflect. It doesn't always go over well, but I try XD
You just describe every bosses in every soul games, just trial and error@@JankyDice96
experiencing the second phase was definitely a humbling experience. I thought in the first once i got the attacks down that this is as fast as the attacks would go then she turns into sonic.
RIGHT omg phase 2 is ridiculous
i can't for the love of god beat her second phase so that was so satisfying to watch, well played!
Is it that hard? I barely beat watchman
@@FaceMyLogic yeah to me she really is the hardest boss so far, i'm at 40+ tries with maybe only 15 of them that got through her first phase (it's not super hard but she has 2 super long combos that can easily kill you if you don't run to the other side of the arena or can't perfect parry, one of them is at 0:24), the delays of her attacks in her second phase are what always get me (you can see in the vid that she even teleports in some of them) and at 4:50 if you can't perfect parry that attack you're doomed to take dmg (tried to dodge it and doesn't seem to work)
@@zahrak6878 I believe in you! I was absolutely baffled (and still am) by her second phase when I first fought her. You can even see in my first playthrough how I was so confused and got super discouraged in phase 2.
@@riple0 after seeing your comment i went to watch your playthrough and decided to get up and try to perfect parry all of her 1st phase attacks, ended up getting her to phase 2 and succeeded in beating her when it wasn't even my goal at this moment haha, thank you so much i think you definitely deserved that subscribe :)
Use aegis and acid spear
I barely played this game up to the watchman but I just know how insane this is. Definitely took a hefty amount of tries.
Why are you spoiling the game by watching this video?
@@BlTemplar it was recommended to me and I was just very curious…
You need to play the game! It gets so much deeper and better past the watchman. And he still wearing starting outfit. Also, there’s lots of cooler ones.
@@thomasjefferson2676 I have the black fit from the granny
It's actually pretty easy. Her parry times are like easiest top 3 for bosses.
You have the timing skills as a death metal drummer.
My hardest wall boss on my first playthrough, thought it was pretty bullshit back then, but as old Master Hewg says, "Given time, technique never fails."
She's good.
OMFG, that was INSANITY!! I didn’t know u could parry out tha first phase!! This is sooo inspiring. 💖
Thank youuuuuu 💕 yeahhhh once I accidentally broke her weapon in phase 1 and it triggered phase 2, then I had this idea 🤪 good luck if you try it yourself! I believe in you 😊
i've watched this video after i struggled for about 2 hours at this boss. Don't know why i struggle with her so much. I even watched it on slowmotion to see the timings of the blocks. it was a masterpiece to look at tho.
And thanks to this and another hour of trying this boss i finally beat it. (Normally tho!)
Still nice to watch ppl give themself a challenge and beat bosses like this, amazing work and nice vid!
Thank you for the kind words 😊 And more importantly I'm THRILLED it helped you!!!! GG :D I also still struggle with her. If I'm not in top focus, I just can't react quick enough. I was SUPER discouraged on my first play, but sometimes like this I am able to have fun with the boss!
Dude, well done! I got to her last night, and beat her (and the game) today. She was by far the most challenging boss. Think it took me in the neighbourhood of 3 or 4 hours to beat her. And when I finally beat her, I played a lot like this in the second phase. I only attacked when I knew I had an opening, which was often just one little slap. Lol. Took a good minute, but I came away with 4 heals left. Patience really is king in this fight.
YAY! Good job. I'm glad you beat the game! 😊
1:23 once she does her barrage of attacks it shows your character is blocking all the way but your button is showing that your still tapping on it which means your parry her which is confusing cuz if your tapping it over and over wouldn’t the blocking animation not be in effect?
@@lord_beanus1152 That would be the handle part of his weapon's Fable Arts! If you look at his line of buffs (and the icon of the handle's Fable Art on the bottom right), you'll see a shield. That's a Perfect Guard buff. Makes it so all guards are Perfect Guards for a limited time. Veeeeery useful. But, since it's so powerful, it takes three charges of Fable Arts, so you can't spam it.
@xleaselife I actually never used a single fable arts! You can my meter stays fully charged :) the reason the guard stays up is because I'm not pressing any other inputs. Try this on any enemy: perform a perfect guard and only press LB/R1 (no touching any other buttons or analog sticks). If successful, your character stays with the guard up for a little while since there is no input to cancel the animation. You can see at the end of the flurry, I immediately start to move again which cancels the animation sooner. During the flurry, I am just pressing LB.
@@lord_beanus1152I replied to the comment below and forgot to tag you 😂
Great video man. This game was so much fun to play, and watching all the ways people are challenging themselves and the game are awesome
I parried her attacks almost as much as you did during phase one, but I stopped myself thinking that her sword couldn't be broken. I didn't think that was possible. I had to stop literally 5 parries away from getting through phase one. Then I died and never tried again to finally kill her in a normal way... I'm so sad I didn't find that out by myself 😭😭 Good job tho !!
Awwww I'm sorry you were so close to finding it yourself! :( I have that happen sooooo many times where like I think to myself "I'm going to try this thing" then I try it a bunch, doesn't work. So, I give up. Only to find out that IT WAS POSSIBLE I just suck XD
You can also break her shield by hitting her back in phase one
@@slyzombie123her weapon?
@@Smart_boy2001 nope you can break both but the shields doesn’t trigger a phase shift like the weapon does.
She was the first boss in the game I actually sat down and memorized. It was challenging but, a lot of fun.
I'm glad you had a fun time! I still have not been able to memorize her lol along with most of the other bosses. And I had the exact opposite of fun 🤪In general, the bosses are fun to execute, but an absolute miserable pain for me to learn. I regret all the time I've spent, but I'm in too deep now 🙃
@@riple0 I almost gave up with the Archbishop. He pissed me off way too much.
Beautifully done. A perfect example of 'when there is a will'.
I am loving the NG++ and I still run into combination of moves by bosses which I hadn't seen before. If the cool bosses weren't locked beyond a 2 minute first phase, it'd been even more fun to learn 😄 but it is what it is I guess.
EXACTLY like I wish there was like a checkpoint system or at least a way to just spawn the second phase but you can never kill it. Just something to practice! Like, it feels like sometimes you make it all the way to phase 2 just to see one move that is completely new and then you die XD
@@riple0 Precisely. LoP is an extraordinary Souls game and improves upon the genre on a few fronts but THAT is one aspect it regresses IMO.
If you're doing a second phase, it is expected to be somewhat based on/advanced version of the first phase. If you are doing entirely new move sets with second full health bar, you're just doing back to back bosses 😄
Even (arguably) the most challenging Souls boss, Elden Ring's Malenia, has a second phase that is based on the phase first.
LoP however decided to go hard!
Good job man!
Also, a real good way for me to study the fight, it’s tedious to get two phase two EVERY time lol
I regret not having spent more time on that boss - definitely a very interesting design !
You earned my sub, and respect with this ridiculousness. nicely done.
Man thank you for This beautiful fight And I really appreciate how your active answering questions in the comments , you just got a new subscriber
I try to answer what I can! Others have been offering their knowledge as well. Thank you for the support!
Good job, i did not knew that you could beat her in 1st phase with just perries by destroying her weapon
I really enjoyed her first phase. Her second phase though. Parry Only was sort of how I beat her second phase. I hit her maybe 4 or 5 times. She barely has any windows to punish with a weapon and they're really short (especially with a heavy weapon). Her design, music, and animations are so cool. But fighting her is so miserably un-fun.
You made me feel better about struggling with her parries in the second phase. The timings are rough.
OMG rough is an understatement XD I got SOOOO discouraged on my first playthrough fighting her. And, yeah, punishing with a heavy weapon is either get lucky or just tank damage and hope your hit goes through with how quick she is. I'm glad you persevered though! GG :D
Watching your videos makes me going for ng+ in lies of p but right now i am totally in love with lotf
I just started playing, you think inferno builds are viable?
This was awesome! I think i finally got the timing down on the rush after the lightning sequence just from watching this. Thanks man!
Awesome!!!! Glad I could help :D
Very well done. I'm on my third playthrough and I still think that phase 2 has some fatal inconsistencies for a boss that hits so hard and so fast. It's a type of boss you assume you're gonna get hit by eventually and always keep the HP at max to not get 2 shotted. The mix ups she can have on her fast strikes are worse than on the nameless puppet with even more damage. While she's epic in scale and appearance, I can't say that she's something I'd consider fair, unless you do use all the tools in your arsenal to plan for optimal damage and stagger. Thank the lord they let you return the lightning back on her.
I completely agree. I did not find this fight enjoyable to learn. It's cool, but I agree with pretty much everything you said!
Dude, this is absolutely bonkers. Well done
I found a cheese method for EVERY boss EVER in EVERY game: getting good
True 🤣

@@lepersonnage371If they stand still long enough then yes.
i fought this shielded cactus the other day, once. and i did not do it again. i watched laxasia fights to get some ideas and parry tips and im honestly enjoying, but am just afraid to try it and spend probably more than a week before i take her down, just like Romeo, who scared me to play the game again for a couple of months. i would probably always panic especially with that long delays she does with most of her attacks. ill try to fight her tomorrow and try to learn her. this video is awesome and actually motivates me to fight her. pray for my sanity
Shielded cactus should be her new official name 🤪 yeah on my early playtrhoughs she was so rough (still is but I kinda understand her now). I wish you all the luck! I know you can do it. You made it this far after all 😁
@@riple0 learned her phase1 i can parry m90% of her attacks! but her phase2, my eyes cannot follow! i dont know what she is doing!

Bo staffs are underrated AF! In real life life and fiction. They're literally one of my favorite weapons
I love that she gets so annoyed at you not attacking that she decides to go into second phase- frickin' GENIUS
I wish I had known that parrying her the whole time could wind up being a way to essentially cheese her xD
For me this was by far the hardest boss, I didn't struggle as much with other difficult bosses like King of puppets, Green Monster, Simon Manus or the Nameless puppet
I struggled with all of them 😂
didn’t even know this was possible nice 👍
That second phase looked awesome! Reflecting back those sparks
I love how you react the exact same way I do. Just like "oh, come on- that wasn't fair. /=)" Like a scolding but laughing parent.
Damn, you have OK skills out there
I had to take help of my legion that shield one for the second phase because of which i was not satisfied enough but parrying her first phase without taking damage was one of the best feeling ever
@bhuvansharma6979 Awesome! :D good job 🥳
Ngl parrying those flury attacks gave me a confidence boost
GOOD JOB :D and you SHOULD feel confident don't let this silly game make you feel bad (easier said than done I know lol).
Anyone else struggling with parrying method, i give to you the Acid Spear. I was on NG+ and couldnt get her with my Aegis shield or pupper string vault and smash. The spectre was useless. The I read somewhere she is weak to acid so fully upgraded weapon and change handle to motivity and she done.
Holy shit I just beat this fight today and I think I had more trouble while actually fighting than you did without swinging lol.
I recently managed to solo this boss on ng+2 and I have never been more proud of myself. That was also the run where I got the true ending. If there was one attacm that tripled me up the most, it would be when Laxasia jumps into the air and fires out a fast lightning bolt. I struggled to get the timing on that attack.
Great Job!!!! I'm proud of you 😊 I know what attack you are talking about and same honestly lol
I've tried several times this boss, i did end up killing her but honestly i was disappointed how bullshit was.
First phase: well done and balance, you mostly get hit because you're making mistakes.
2 phase: pure chaos, i can't explain how much annoying it was, sometimes because of her damn speed I wasn't even able to attack her, some tips I'll share is don't use slow weapon in her second phase because you'll barely scratch her.
Again what a bullshit of bossfight.
Yeahhhhh phase 2 was.......something wasn't it 🙃
It seems more like a "HAHA gotcha" phase trying to trick you...but some people seem to really like her 🤔
Anyway, I'm glad you beat her! GG! 🎉Hopefully you have other enjoyable moments from the game 💖
@@riple0 i can't say who is more "Balanced" Between her or Nameless puppet.
@IlPinguonauta lol neither can I 😝 for me, nameless puppet (phase 2 at least) was more learn able, but still just trial and error and gotcha moments 🙃
Amazing! Best parrying I have ever seen by far! Wish I could parry an 1/8 of that many. I suck! Great job!
Don't be so hard on yourself! All you see here is the good stuff. This is just my successful attempt 😂 Even here, you can see phase 2 falls apart quite rapidly, and I get lucky. I still have really bad encounters with just about everything in this game. It is just practice and luck for me. As long as you are having fun, that's what I prioritize 😊 It might be hard to notice, but you will get better if you keep playing!
Man! You're so good and like taunting her. lol. I think I became a pro on Wo Long and the parry attack for her here is just one button which is hard for me to click my same finger. Unlike in Wo Long, one button to block and one to parry. I'm almost at this scene while I'm a 38 year old beginner.. Love this game! I want ro keep trying without using star fragment but keep taking huge damage for not continuously blocking. Guess gotta keep trying... Thank you for this possibility!
It is for sure hard! As long as you keep having fun. If you made it that far, nothing can stop you! :D
I just began to realize, you can't appreciate something like this fully unless you've done it yourself by that i mean fought the boss not parry only. this is very impressive
I still think it was more I got lucky 😂 sure I practiced a lot, but there's no hiding how phase 2 fell apart lolol. Still, I appreciate the compliment ❤
Absolutely insane, mate. Well done...
Thank you! :D It was a lot of luck, I mean, phase 2 absolutely wrecked me🤪
It looks like the lightning returns seem to scale off of weapon upgrade, because when I'd fight Laxasia, getting the parried for the lightning projectiles on her storm bringe would do aboht 3.6k, and in other videos of seen where people humiliate Laxasia, it's about the same for the most part. Here however, it's only 1.7k
Really? That's interesting! I'm pretty sure my golden lie was maxed out at +5, so then maybe it's weapon type or just based on weapon overall weapon AR? I honestly never noticed, but that's neat.
@@riple0 Yeah, it's weird to think about, but it has some kind of scaling
Maybe it depends on whether you break the shield in phase one
@@jamesarthurkimbell also possible
I wouldn’t be surprised if the lightning bolts you send back are based on your Advance scaling.
Amazing stuff

Damn beautifully fought, congrats!
I lost my hair fighting her
Understandable 😢 I got super discouraged on my first playthrough fighting her!
Great work man
Didn't know we could beat 1st phase with parry. 😮
King of Puppets is harder for me personally (based from my first blind playthrough). I was able to beat Lax at 4 hours while KoP is at more than 6++ hours of suffering...
Can't wait to play it fresh again as I got the bad ending... This time with dex build (str was my first playthrough)
Yeah! It's neat because they coded phase 1 so that you can either 1. parry and break her weapon to trigger phase 2 OR 2. deplete her health. Whichever one you do first will trigger phase 2. I also agree KoP was a toughie, but GG on the quick Laxasia :o
I hope you enjoy your future playthrough(s)!!!! :)
Nice bro, so enjoy watching this
Two things 1. RipLe0 just did ONGBAL levels of awesomeness. 2. The amount of gimmick nonsense in phase 2 of this fight as well as phase 2 of Manus is so infuriating.
While I'm flattered by the support, I think ONGBAL is quite far beyond what I'd ever be able to do XD but thank you for the appreciation!
Use throwable items in phase 2, they mess her up pretty badly, specially cluster bombs and Shot Puts.
Man I never parried the lightning bolts. Thanks for this, might try it on NG+.
Have fun! :D
first i encounter to her i tried to break her sword with parry.. but now it seems impossible.
It is hard! It takes a lot of parries as you can see. You can speed it up a little bit by using a bigger weapon, but it still takes a lot!

Close call dude that was epic, though 👌🏿 😎
Oh so it does damage even though it doesn't show?
Great job as well must've been difficult learning her move set
Are you talking about phase 1? If so, parrying does not deal health damage, but it does damage her weapon. Once it breaks, it immediately triggers phase 2. If that didn't work, I don't know of another way to trigger phase 2 with just parries.
@@riple0that’s cool didn’t know that. Some boss weapons like parade master will just break so I was confused on how phase 2 triggered but that explains it. Ig some bosses have exceptions that’s interesting

I'm glad it helped! ❤️☺️
this is what the forest temple trained you for!
Hesitation is defe....wrong game lol. Great job!
Thank you 😂
this is awesome fight and intense. golden lie weapon is a must incase to perform those perfect blocks ?
Nope! You can use any weapon you want. I didn't use anything like a grindstone or a weapon skill to aid in the perfect blocks. However, the bigger the weapon, the faster you will break her weapon, so you can speed it up by using something bigger. I just used the Golden Lie because I like the way it looks :)
@@riple0wow. are you been timing all those perfect guards ? but I've notice in some parts you've been just holding block i guess
@@bader77uk It "looks" like I am holding guard, but that just happens in this game when the only thing you press is the parry button. I have an input display in the top right! If you are parrying, and all you press is LB/R1 and perform a perfect guard, the perfect guard animation lingers for a little bit if you don't touch any other buttons and you don't move. If you do anything else, it will cancel the guard animation earlier!
Great job, impressive indeed
Oh wow her second phase is just OoT Ganondorf. I like that. ❤❤❤
EXACTLY I was like :o
I complete the game today after 3 days and i say that her Fight was the best of the game, Nameless Puppet was just annoying.
She deserves a better history
Hey! Awesome job! Are you holding parry during the entire lightening phase or just tapping it rapidly quick that its barely showing in the animation? It looks like you're just stuck in a hold and getting perfect parry every time
You can confirm with my input display (top right) that I am timing each parry if you think I'm lying XD So, when I play, if I'm parrying a combo, I usually only just press the LB/R1 button and NOTHING else (that means no touching the analog sticks either). If you do this, then the guard animation actually lasts a little longer than expected! You can cancel it sooner by pressing another input. This works on any enemy! Go ahead and try for yourself to guard/perfect guard (it doesn't even have to be perfect). If ALL you us is the parry button (LB/R1) you will notice the lingering animation (except for some really super big attacks that knock you really far back like some of Laxasia's heavy attacks) :)
@@riple0 oh wow i had no idea this was a feature! i didnt think you were lying at all, i just thought everyone was holding parry and then confused how it was working cause i couldnt get it to work! (honestly the fight was so epic i never even noticed the controller in the upper corner cause i was in such awe) thank you for the explanation! I cant wait to try it myself!
@@Walken2nowhereI never noticed this was happening until people pointed it out in this video XD because I never really look at the character. I'm too busy focused on the incoming death.
I really wish there was a grindstone that increased damage to enemy weapons. the fact that you can phase skip by breaking her weapon is a neat detail but you would realistically never get this cause its so much faster to just whittle down her health
Actually everytime I fight her, with my playstyle, even if I'm simultaneously attacking her and parrying, I always break her weapon before draining her health 🤣 I think it's because my playstyle is just too passive. I still like your idea 😊
Crazy! Well done!
Thank you!!!! 😄
Laxasia was so much fun to fight that I literally intentionally killed myself when she was one shot so many times just to fight her again and perfect the parries. Same with nameless puppet. Fuck Simon tho
I'm glad you had fun!!! :D It took me a long time and a lot of practice to start to enjoy these fights. I had a rough time, and I still get destroyed often XD
I don't know what to think about this boss. First phase is a blast to learn and beat without getting hit once.
And then phase 2 shows me that I'm not 18 anymore and my reflexes are the limit here.
And it's really annoying that you have to do the first phase again before you get another shot at phase 2, that could probably only last 10 seconds.
Kinda ruins the really good first phase, as it goes from "wow, this is a really fun fight" to "Oh, it's you again. Let's get this over with"
@der_waschbaer93 Exactly my thoughts! Like I feel like I'm getting left behind from the player base because I don't have the reflexes. Like, yeah I did this, but it's far from perfect and it took hours of practice and wasn't very fun in the process 😅 the only thing i like about phase 2 is parrying the lightning because it reminds me of OOT
Amazing! While I can't survive more than 20 seconds to her 2nd transformation.
Phase 2 is ROUGHH 🙃 Just keep trying your best! 😊
You can second phase her without dealing damage
Yep. Found this out myself practising parries. I was like whaaaaaat
Mind blown 😮 glad you also found it exciting 😄
Made it to just before this fight when the game lost my save data and I get set back to the first black rabbit brotherhood fight. I really don’t want to play through all of it again, such a shame
Ughhhhh yeah I get that I'm sorry :/ games really should be better about save data these days, especially these ones. Good luck in whatever you do! :D
Congratulations, you played yourself.
Awesome dude
Awesome but insanely well done
How do you perfect block? Usually you have to time each strike but it looks like you just keep holding the block button. At the same time you didnt use the grindstone?
I am still timing each block, but because the hits come in so fast, P never puts down the "guard" stance so it looks like I am just in a static guard animation. I put an input display in the top right so that might help see my timings! You can also see when I miss a perfect block (the absence of the orange flash).
The animations in Lies of P play out in their entirety due to the engine the game uses.
It's still being individually pressed, but the game doesn't register the new block animation between strings, so it looks like you're always blocking.
It's just the way the games coded opposed to say Sekiro where you can animation cancel.
Yeah, I also don’t see any movement between the parries, and what about the stamina? That big attacks even w perfect guard do more stamina dmg dont they??
@@sebastian-gs9ff I think there is a P-Organ that makes you not lose staming on perfect parry.
@@sebastian-gs9ff By default, perfect guards still consume stamina, but just prevent taking HP damage (you can see this happen in the video). As noted by @varlog in these replies, there is an optional P-Organ upgrade that makes it so perfect guards also won't consume any stamina. However, this option is only available in New Game +2 and onward (it unlocks as part of the phase 7 P-Organ sub-abilities).
AWESOME DUDE
Total Ocarina of Time vibes hitting the lightning back at her.
Exactly my thoughts!
The GOAT
You're so wised!
That is ridiculously impressive... I just finished this game, first souls like i actually stuck with and very glad i did. The Archbishop nearly gave me a nervous breakdown but by fuck did he make me a better player in that 8hrs trying to kill him 😂This game is brilliant. Anyone having trouble with her get the acid out and a fast stabbing weapon 👌
Damn game reminds me of a mor difficult and more mechanical sekiro, couldnt put sekiro down for months after beating it sm, i feel like I’ll like this, seems very humbling.
I hope you do enjoy it! :D
For NG+ what weapon should I use?Rn I’m using the Nameless Puppets weapon but I’m asking which is more efficient to get the NG+ bosses and especially the final ones
Best weapon: whatever you are most comfortable with! That may sound silly but that's really the best advice. I've played around with tons of the weapons in this game, and the best ones for me were just the ones that I liked the way they felt when fighting, regardless of the damage or fable arts. Being comfortable with a weapon matters more than something being the strongest or the fastest. For example, people LOVE the two dragons sword. The katana. I do not 😂 I think it has a lot of neat things, but I just don't really vibe with the playstyle. If you are legitimately looking for something more direct build wise I'd be happy to state my preferences if you want. Just ask!
@@riple0 honestly I can play with anything I just want the best overall weapon to get rid of NG+ bosses
@i__mitsos__i203 with the new buff to the speed of motivity weapons, the coil mjolnir is absolutely bonkers in terms of raw damage. I much prefer to play a critical build to deal serious damage in the higher NG+ cycles. My favorite is trident of the covenant (andreus boss ergo weapon) with the assassins amulet to boost critical hit damage together with the extreme modification amulet (amulet from watchman boss ergo) that boosts attack by a good chunk if you have all of your fable slots from P-Organ upgrades. To get even better, you can also add things like the conquering amulet (fuoco boss ergo amulet) which gives a MASSIVE damage boost if you attack shortly after landing a successful perfect guard. There is also the arm of god amulet (victor boss ergo amulet) that adds a damage multiplier that increases with each successive hit (multiplier caps after 4 hits). Even on its own, the critical damage from the plain weapon is ridiculous with how fast and versatile the move set is!
it will take total of 60-65 perfect guard to break her shield and go to 2nd phase...
Who do you think has a harder learning curve? Orphan of Kos or Laxasia?
Personally I think Orphan is a lot easier in phase 1 if you know how to parry him, albeit his 2nd phase still gives me trouble.
Laxasia on the other hand, I had to learn to parry all of her attacks in the 1st phase, but the real trouble comes with the 2nd one: I've always found this fight annoying because of that mega combo of hers in which she summons lightning and then, so quickly, she charges against you (I still don't know the timing to parry that...).
I've only played Bloodborne two times, fighting Orphan each time, so I really don't have the experience to say. He took me way less time than Laxasia, but that doesn't always directly translate to difficulty.
Man I wish I had anyone I could recommend this game to. It is literally too hard of a game for me to recommend it in good conscious to any of my friends. No one should be willing to spend 5 hours on a boss memorizing timings just to experience an ending in a game that is purposefully made to have unintuitive off-kilter and unfair timings and hitboxes. I did it and I wouldn't wish it on my enemies. It's such a good game aside from the brutal difficulty though. I hope people at least watch a let's play of it
As someone who pours hours into the game to try and get better, yeahhhh sometimes it's just is out to get you. 🙃 sometimes feels like I'm wasting my time. It's sad that games like this are headed towards "assertive female presenting mega boss" that is just omgggg over the top gotcha here gotcha there. Learn able? Technically....but the process is highly not fun....at least for me. Unfortunately, that's what gets the views and brings in the money for these companies. There are really passionate artists and designers that you can feel in this game, but the combat coordinators are so worried people will say the game is "easy" that they end up making not so great decisions 🙄
@@riple0They do give the player many tools to make the game easier. Im someone who is not great at games but am shocked by how hard people found this one.
Wow!! This is Art!! 😍
Awww thank you! :D I just tried to do something for fun.
What in the absolute fuck did I just witness
Not sure. If you watched the video, you likely witnessed me guessing when I should press the parry button and getting lucky XD
Can someone explain how he’s perfect guarding every hit without dropping the weapon? Even if you press the button extremely fast you’d still drop the weapon slightly.
She's perfect guarding just as you normally would by pressing LB. You can see her input display in the top right! What you are noticing is the full perfect guard animation if you do not press any other inputs. It's quite long. Take the long combo for example. During this, of you only press LB and don't touch anything else (not even moving) the guard animation stays up a little longer, while at the end of the combo it stops faster and the guard goes down once you move. It's just the end of the animation! 😊
@@riple0ohhh gotcha. I saw the inputs which confused me even more. Thanks for the explanation!
@@Thatbeardedguy86 You're welcome! It is a weird thing that I myself didn't even notice until people starting pointing it out. Then I was like, yeah that is weird why is that happening XD
