The Qur’an was Written Where!? - Creating the Qur’an with Dr. Jay - Episode 56

  • If the Qur’an didn’t originate from Mecca in the Hijaz, where did it come from? What do the scholars say? Today Al Fadi and Dr. Jay review the evidence that leading scholars have uncovered that pinpoints the Qur’an being written in an old Hejazi dialect that originates from the North - modern-day Jordan and Syria. Watch as Al Fadi and Jay continue their review of Shoemaker’s book, “Creating the Qur’an” which takes a critical, in-depth look at the true origins of the Qur’an.

You can see a cross on top of a church. If you ask a Christian how the cross relate to your God. He will answer that his God Jesus died on a cross as ransom for his sins and the cross represents the one crucified.
If you ask Hindus that how the moon crescent seen on top of Hindu temples
    relate to their God
They will answer that their God Siva wear the moon on his head. That’s why they place a crescent on top of their temples.
Similarly if you ask a Muslim that how the star and crescent of moon relate to their God, crescent of moon and star is placed on top of dome of mosques, can they answer it. I have asked this question to my Muslim friends due to curiosity. Never I got a proper answer.

@@defenderoftruth3212 Now you are being silly. By the time of the first century AD, the language situation in Israel was very complicated and multilingual. Aramaic appears to have been the most common spoken language, especially among the working classes. Hebrew continued to be used for prayer and to compose religious texts, such as many of the Dead Sea Scrolls. And there is some evidence that Hebrew also continued to be used as a spoken language in some circles. Greek was widely spoken in the area as well, especially by Jews from higher socio-economic classes and those who had reason to interact with their Gentile neighbors. Thus, the language used for any spoken or written interaction depended on who was involved and the purpose of the conversation, and Greek allowed for the widest possible dissemination of written works throughout the Mediterranean world.

There is a strong claim that Islam is not an original religion; but rather, it is a deviation - a departure, or an off shoot from True Christianity. Sahih al-Bukhari 3617 narrated Anas: “There was a Christian who embraced Islam and read Surat-al-Baqarah and Al-‘Imran (Quran chapters one and two), and he used to write (revelations) for the prophet. Later, he returned to Christianity again and he used to say: ‘Mohammed knows nothing, but what I have written for him.’ Then Allah caused him to die, and the people buried him, but in the morning, they saw that the earth had thrown his body out.”
    *
This account from authentic Islamic source may explain why the Quran is filled with Christian lectionaries, fables, and bed-time stories? It also brings into doubts that Allah - the chief god of the Arab migratory (travelling) desert tribes, could not have written the Quran on tablets in the eternity past, before creation.

Thank you for this, interesting. I already agree with you on the main points. May I suggest something? I looked at the legend of King Arthur decades ago (Dr Jay has mentioned it once) and the denier mot has been written about this by Dumville and others in commenting on the alluring text of Gildas' De Excidio. The collapse of the Roman Empire in Britain led to the empoyment of foederati, mercenaries, client kingdoms, call them what you will. In Britain, perhaps due to Honorius' rescript in 410 in the end that led to outright warfare between the British and their rebellious mercenaries. As they fought the long defeat against the Saxons so was born the legend of King Arthur. Here we have the client kingdoms of the Ghassanids and the Lakmids (Roman and Persian respectively) and they simply moved into the power vacuum, rebelled, call it what you will during and after the wars between the Romans and the Persians. As these ex- Roman soldiers fought the long victory against the Romans and the Persians so was born the alluring text of the Qur'an (690's) as a legend for an empire and even later than that the Prophet (may he rest in body pieces). Heraclius seems to have entered into foederati- type arrangements with his Arab ex- Roman soldiers but any alliances did not survive his death. In other words, the whole mind set is required to think in terms of the Roman/ Persian client states/ mercenary soldiers and LOCALISED war- leaders and conquests. The Hejaz had nothing to do with any of this, of course the Arabs here moved up north to follow the other, more northern, tribes just as the Germanic mercenaries in Britain on success attracted further people from Frisia, Jutland, Angeln and Saxony.
No- one is suggesting any of the protaganists in the ME knew about the "ruin and conquest of Britain" although no doubt the texts were in the libraries at Rome and Constantinople but the parallels are clear, and I was trained at University to look for parallels. Perhaps if suffient scholarly expertise can be brought to bear a similar book of many contributors could be brought to bear on the whole question of these Arabs and lay the Prophet and the Qur'an to rest once and for all. Dumville said King Arthur bears his existence to the "no smoke without fire school of thought" and that the only potentially early reference to him is in one of the poems of Taliesin of where it is said of a warrior "Although brave, he was not Arthur" but these poems cannot be dated orthographically speaking between C6 and C10 and even the most determined protagonists of the historical Arthur has to admit this could be a late interpolation. Then there is the possible admission of Vortigern to the text of the De Excidio in the phrase "superbus tyrannos" So there are hints of some early traditons, but the key is to think ex- Roman mercentaries and localised war leaders and conquests. After all, the so- mcalled Caliph Ali was only Emir of Hira- a very local war leader and ruler. Once we admit to ourselves the Prophet and the 4 Rightly- Guided Caliphs had no real extistence we will be better off.
One of the saddest comments in Gildas' diatribe/ polemic is the comment that the rulers (kings of little kingdoms) and priests and monks of his day "added to their sins that they preached not the gospel to the Saxons". Well, you are now rectifying than in another context.

First time seeing one of your videos. I find the point of ‘going from an oral culture to a written culture’ very interesting. The Greeks had the same general process of the oral tradition, where ‘exactly’ was more like ‘the gist of what was said’, to a written language where an exact word-for-word record could be kept. Studies, not only of the Greeks, but of modern cultures that were converting from oral to written closer to our times, also find that there are CONCEPTS that don’t exist until the written word transcends the old oral traditions. Thank you for sharing your scholarly insights with us.

Also is there a single evidence in the Qu'ran that the Kaaba ought to be the house of Allah or that Allah needs a house in Mecca ?
The only verses that i do find on this is that the Kaaba is simply an offering, a gift of Ibra'him and Isma'il for Allah to take(or not) in the surat 2, Al Baqarah..
    Verse 126, i quote :
"And ˹remember˺ when Abraham said, “My Lord, make this city ˹of Mecca˺ secure and provide fruits to its people-those among them who believe in Allah and the Last Day.” He answered, “As for those who disbelieve, I will let them enjoy themselves for a little while, then I will condemn them to the torment of the Fire. What an evil destination!”
    Verse 127 :
"And ˹remember˺ when Abraham raised the foundation of the House with Ishmael, ˹both praying,˺ “Our Lord! Accept ˹this˺ from us. You are indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing."
Do you notice something odd with these verses and the translations ?
In the verse 126 we see no mentions of 'Mecca' at ALL !
In fact it should be translated as 'ءَامِنًۭا' ('Amen') in the place of 'MECCA'.
So if you see a translation of the Qu'ran who says 'this city of mecca', it should be 'the city of the amen'
Thus the translation is a lie to say the least..
The verse 127 confirms that it is only a gift from Ibra'him and Isma'il who is given to Allah but who should not necessarily be established as an ordinance(!)
Also where does it states in the Qu'ran directly from Allah that the Kaaba ought to be his house (?)
I've yet to find the evidence..
Rather i find it more to be the contrary in the Qu'ran..
In the verse 115 of the surat al baqarah, it is written, i quote :
    "وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْمَشْرِقُ وَٱلْمَغْرِبُ ۚ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا۟ فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌۭ" ١١٥
"To Allah belong the east and the west, SO WHEREVER YOU TURN YOU ARE FACING TOWARDS ALLAH.1 SURELY ALLAH IS ALL-ENCOMPASSING, ALL-KNOWING.
Thus it could be considered that praying to one direction 'only' is more akin to idolatry and to a form of betrayal of Allah since it is in direct contradiction to the nature of Allah who is all encompassing..
Yet it is a pillar to do a pilgrimage to mecca for Allah..
So are we sure that it is not the Ishmaelites and their agenda who statuted before Allah and Mohammed and put these things in his place for their own interest ?
Also if the establishment of the muslim empires have been done thanks to religious presumptions/manipulations including the house of the Saud, it is clearly showed in the Qu'ran with the topic of the Kaaba that the purpose of the establishment of this house is elsewhere..
And it is no wonder since the Saudians may be linked to the Edomites who in the Bible are closely related to the Ishmaelites..
Edom (Esau) is basically a son of Ishmael by intermarriage, Esau married Mahalath, a daughter of Ishmael in Genesis 28, i quote :
"8And seeing that his father Isaac disapproved of the Canaanite women, 9Esau went to Ishmael and married Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Abraham’s son Ishmael, in addition to the wives he already had."...

One thing I've noticed about English translations of the Koran is that they often insert interpretation into the text; they're not direct translations. Meanwhile, English has the NKJV, NASB, ESV, and Spanish has the Reina-Valera and NBLA...which, while they may occasionally fail in their mission, seek to convey the text as precisely as possible with a minimum of interpretive gloss.

There clearly is a distinction to make between the initial meaning of the coranic text (which was originally christian, though anti-trinitarian) and the meaning that was imposed (and distorted) later (9th and 10th centuries) by the abbassid caliphs (with the creation of the so-called "prophetic tradition" or "sunnah" with a multitude of hadiths, tafsir and siraa inventions).

6600 verses of the quran were revealed in a piecemeal over 23 years, both in mecca and medina. At each revelation, the prophet recited the verse to many, many companions who then memorised, practiced its injunction, recited to others and wrote it down in a piecemeal basis, both in mecca and medina.
These piecemeal writings were then compiled in a mushaf (book); whilst, at the same time, its memorisation continue till this very day.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No." Then Al-`Abbas said, "Then will you yourself help me carry it?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No." Then Al `Abbas threw away some of the money, but even then he was not able to lift it, and so he gain requested the Prophet (ﷺ) "Will you order someone to help me carry it?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'No." So, Al-`Abbas threw away some more money and lifted it on his shoulder and went away. Given the fact that Jesus is not one of the many sons of Zeus, the god of the Greeks, and that the God of Abraham had never promised a Son to Israel but the Messiah (HaMashiak) which the Greek forgers and fiddlers translated as “Christos” as it is written:
"I will raise among them the Messiah(Christus)HaMashiak, a Prophet(Messenger) like you Moses, Him they must listen..."
    Deut.18:15-19; Acts 3:17-24; Acts 7:1-30; Luke 24:25-27 and 44-47; Acts 17:1-3; John 4:24-25, Surah 3:81, etc.
Considering that the Gospel that Paul proclaimed to the world mentions JESUS CHRIST SON OF GOD and not just JESUS.
Therefore, we can deduce that Trinity is a misunderstanding of the Pauline doxology of “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit”!
Because between Jesus Christ (HaMashiak) Son of God and Jesus Son of God... there is a great philosophical and legal difference if we take as a legal framework the TEN COMMANDMENTS and the social environment where Jesus was born!

The Qur'an properly read appears to be a Christian text calling for the return to the authority of the first apostolic Council of Jerusalem in Acts 15:1-32 in rejection of the Councils of Nicaea and Constantinople.
So the only way to pull the rug from under the obscurantists'feet is to reject the categorization Christianity versus Islam and affirm instead Nazareans versus Islam. Nazarean being anybody following the teachings of Paul which of course permeate the Council of Nicaea and Constantinople.
Islam is a reaction to the West attempt to hijack Christianity or the Gospel and use it to overrun the globe.
    More in:
The Council of Jerusalem in Acts 15:1-30 and the partition of Christianity in two Apostolic Traditions: Circumcised(Muslims) vs. Uncircumcised(Paul's Nazareans or Catholics...

Some time ago, Syrian president Assad held a speech in front of religious scholars in which he basically admits to the northern dialect, borrowed words from Syriac, Akkadian and others. He also tries to harmonise that with Islamic tradition (of course) but the admission remains. Source: ruclips.net/video/drqTweWFPB8/видео.html. Maybe in Syria that flies under the wings of debunking Sunnis and promoting Shiite regions?

Angel Gabriel in the Bible: Do not be Afraid/ Fear Not..very Gentle angel
Angel Gabriel to Muhammad. SQUEEZE!! Read! SQUEEZE! Read!!!. Muhammad was deeply shaken and frightened by this experience.😅
Seems like the angel that came to Muhammad is a totally different angel and not like the Gentle angel Gabriel..

    Jesus call God father.
He says I and Father are the same in gospel.
Can anyone say I and Allah are the same?
If someone doing likewise is doing blasphemy.
In the other hand says I and Father ( God) are the same.
Yes He himself said He is God despite He is a different person rather than the Father
This blasphemy had lead to His death
