Superb harmonies in this motet by Casals - sung by all section of the choir to perfection, enhancing the sadness of this choral work. The treble section in the middle caused the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up. A truly wonderful piece to listen to when sung by such a marvellous choir.
Lovely!! Few choirs better than this!! And to have kept that high standard all these years through the Boris Ord, Willcocks, Cleobury years is amazing!! One of my greatest memories was when they came to St. Louis to sing and Benjamin Eadon was still in the group. Hi, Ben! Hi, Alex! Imagine that. TWO sons in this fine choir at the same time. Congratulations, Simon! Wishing you ALL a very blesséd Holy Week!
Sooooo beautiful! I hope the recording of the service will be available for purchase. I want to add this to my library asap. Happy Easter to All of the choir members/director.
Casals was a notable composer of sacred music I think. The O vos is fairly common in the repertoire, but virtually nothing else. Monsterrat recorded a full album of the choral pieces long ago under Segarra, but would be difficult to find now.
Pau Casals indeed. The west would hardly have been aware of Catalonia, let alone its language and names when Casals was at his height as a cellist, so Pablo it was.

"When two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them"
-the almighty Jesus Christ
One of the most beautiful works I have heard in decades. This choir nails it.

And there’s a lot of ppl who hate on it and say it’s all the same! Like this is beautiful 😌

Absolutely fantastic; whatgreat singing. Looking forward to watching the entire service now.
That soothed my heart. Thank you.
Jacob Partington on the opening shot! Awesome Alto.
Stunning!
Isso é incrível
My choir sang this quite a few years ago. It’s a gorgeous piece. I especially loved singing those high soprano notes. 😌❤️
I am off book for the tenor part.
@Amie Johnston In this case trebles, not sopranos.
Thank you for sharing!!!

Is it the recording from 1963? If so, it's on Spotify, and it's lovely! Thank you for the recommendation.
@@samueljfranklin5885 Yes I think it's from 1963. I purchased a vinyl copy in the 80's, and that must have been a reissue.
Muito lindo
Magnificent
Gentlemen🎵
Is there a way people can watch these beautiful performances or is it family only?
During term time anyone can go to the chapel in Cambridge, for free 6 days a week, at 530pm.
GREAT !!!
Knowing that this is the "Helium Choir" meme, I'm actually pretty surprised by how good they are! Nice Job!
I thought it was the whole service? 🤔
Looking forward to it. His name was Pau, however

Finally! A 2020 performance with not a mask in sight!
It was recorded in 2019.
Almost sounds like a chesnakov piece
