Thank you so much for this video, Richard. It brought back some wonderful memories. I have travelled on the Rocky Mountaineer twice. From Vancouver to Jasper in 2015 and from Banff to Vancouver in 2016 and couldn't recommend it more highly.
What a great video Richard. Beautifully shot and edited. We are going on the rocky mountaineer next year and this has given us a wonderful view of what to expect. Thanks
Glad you liked it. Look forward to a great experience. The Gold Leaf service is the best option. You get the advantage of the open viewing platform for photography etc. plus a separate dining car.
Great video Richard, thank you. I caught your video of top tips too. Could you add a peak or mention of the bathrooms next video please? I'm always concerned due to my health conditions.
Looking forward to Passage West with self drive option and an extra night or two. Not sure if it will be this fall or fall 2020, but we are working with Rocky Mountaineer now for special accommodations for my disabilities and my service dog. After a terrible workplace accident 6 years ago, I though my dream retirement vacation was not going to be possible, but now with a service dog and some careful accommodation planning with Rocky Mountaineer , this trip of a lifetime is looking like it will really happen, for myself, my wife and now my service dog too. Enjoying all the reviews and videos.
I prefer travelling by train. You can move around and on Gold Leaf you can access the exterior to take film/photos without glass. Dining car on board too! Train every time for me.
Hi Richard! from Tunisia, the other part of the world. I have a question if you don't mind, when you did this great experience? and what is the best time of the year to do it? Thank you for this great video!
Hi Mohamed - September 2015 - This was a good time as it was fall and the trees were all turning, also the weather was mild. You are sure to enjoy the experience!
You need to check with the Rocky Mountaineer Co. The Gold Leaf coaches have 2 toilets on the Dining level and there is a flight of steps up to the seating deck. I did not see inside the other coaches but the Red Service is all on the same level as the seating. Hope this helps!

Honest opinion....for seeing more would you recommend making this trip via train or bus???

Lovely video; what were the sleeping cabins like and did they have en-suite bathrooms? Many thanks.
Hi Philip, There are no 'sleeping' cabins on board. You are de-trained at Kamloops for an overnight stop in a local hotel.
Many thanks for your reply. I look forward to doing the trip one day.
Kind regards, Philip.
