    SPLIT Apps vs SINGLE Apps
    * Steven, your Friend Matt at The Grass Factor had a video a couple of years ago titled, ‘How to Choose the Best Pre-Emergent; at about the 6:00 to 7:00 portion of that show he shared a Study that showed the Effectiveness of Single vs Split; Single Apps in February (applied Before the 55 degree date) were 78% effective; Split (2) Apps in Feb or March and then again in April or May increased the effectiveness to 92%
    * In that same, or maybe another of his Pre-Emergent Videos he teaches that Pre-emergents are Root Pruners - they stunt the development of Crabgrass; IF you use TOO MUCH you can have a Negative Effect on your Desired Grass, so DON’T exceed the recommended dose.
    * Great Job Steve; your Opening Fly-Over speaks for the Success of your efforts.

    Great video and informative as always. I'll be spraying my pre-emergent for the first time this year, so this was very timely.

    Great video. I love prodiamine, I use the granular form and water it in. Saves ALOT of time in the summer chasing weeds.

    Good Morning, Good Lesson
    * SOIL Temperature:
    - it used to be that I used the Forsythia Plant’s Blooming as the YELLOW Light Warning that it is Time for the Crabgrass Pre-emergent.
    - the Green Light Temperature App is the Best; it gives Current year, 5 year and 10 year
    - for your Location: go to the ‘PREVIOUS Year’; Scan across the Dates between February and March and find the Earliest 55 degree 5 year and 10 year and PLAN on that as your Target Date for the First of the SPLIT doses;
    - then Scan across April and May to find the Earliest 70 degree 5 yr and 10 yr dates; these will give you the Best Target YELLOW and RED or First and Second Split dosage Dates.
    * For me those Dates are: My Wife’s Birthday . . . And Mother’s Day ( LOL )
    SPLIT doses vs SINGLE doses

    Thank you for the refresher Mr. Ferguson! Located in Wisconsin, so I have some time. My soil temperature approach 55 around mid May. Soil is in the low 20’s today.

    I use another great cool season guy he's much higher with his program for PRG, and KBG, and even higher for fescue

    I kinda thought that Prodaimine was a fall application and Dithiopyr was for the spring, I always thought Prodeaimine to stop and Dithiopyr was for Die.

    Alright I got a question, just found out about this product and I’ve already over seeded in mid-March 😱, how long should I wait to put this stuff down or is it best to just wait till the fall?
    Texas region-

    • @MrFergusonLawn
      @MrFergusonLawn  2 года назад +1

      Lot of factors to know first; are you talking about warm or cool season grass? Being in Texas, I’d guess warm season which is totally different from fescue. Ultimately, if you’ve just seeded you don’t want to apply this until you have done two mows on the new grass. That’s the earliest. Google is a great tool to use for this as well.

      @@MrFergusonLawn yes I’ve googled it, just doesn’t have specifics as you say ALOT of factors come in to play, especially soil temperatures
      Ok ty for the response

      It depends on how long you want coverage to last, and how much you may have already used, as there is a yearly limit. This video explains it so you can do what you see best for your lawn.

      Well this is an older video, so hopefully the new one is better. I don’t just do videos to tell the info. Some channels do that, but mine is different. It’s a lawn journey from start to present. Besides, you can skip ahead lol
