Good stuff. Here’s my top 5 vinyl. 1. The Third Mind 2 by The Third Mind. Technically 2023 release but I heard it in 2024. Both their vinyl releases sound awesome. 2. Yummy by James. One of their best. James puts out really good vinyl. Clean, flat, silent. 3. Passage du Desir by Johnny Blue Skies aka Sturgill Simpson. 4. Inhale/Exhale by Rufus Du Sol 5. Tie for fifth. No Title As Of… by God Speed! You Black Emperor and Snake Oil King by Widespread Panic.
@ I finally saw them live and man they were great. I’m looking forward to hearing the Live at The Acropolis triple vinyl set when it comes out next year.
My Top 5 Records… 1. The Heavy Heavy (acid rawk meets Mama’s & Papa’s) 2. Black Crowes (nope, did not see this coming) 3. Jack White (primal urges) 4. La Luz (for fans of Khruangbin) 5. JD McPherson (Robert Plant’s guitar slinger does it again)
I also loved the new Jack White, Zach Bryan, and Sturgill records. My personal favorite of the year was The Red Clay Strays' Made by these Moments. Really worth a listen if you've never checked them out.
Great list. Kept waiting for you to toss in the new pumpkins record though. Thought it was definitely a return to form. Appreciate the content and the suggestions of some stuff I’ve missed.
As a soul fan, this year has been amazing! Thee Sinseers started 2024 off right with their debut LP. And Thee Sacred Souls had their sophomore LP thos year as well, and Kelly Finnigan's sophomore solo LP. Super excited stuff
Great list. We had an embarrassment of riches in 2024 as far as new music goes. Little surprised you didn’t have IDLES TANGK in there. That said, I need to dive into that Jerry Cantrell a little more. ✌🏻
Just my opinion...but Isbell and the 400 Unit are arguably the best rock band working today. And Isbell is, without question, the greatest living songwriter. Weathervanes was a masterpiece, but so has every single album hes made since Here We Rest 15 years ago. Live at the Ryman 2 is absolutely great. Going to see him again in May and cant wait. And totally agree with you about the Sturgill album..it's superb.

First time watching - feels like a really American centric list (and there has been some great records coming out of the US this year) but I feel you’ve missed some really strong releases out of the UK. The Cure, Beth Gibbons, The The, James all released fantastic records in 24.
thks nice selection i have most of your choices - still getting my top 10 as yet and i guarantee most will be different apart from leon bridges - he is a great soul singer

MOST OF MY NEW RELEASES 2024 ruclips.net/video/Z2m_zwu_YqQ/видео.html I enjoyed this video, the first nine records you showed were completely unknown to me. Just this morning I ordered the Zach Bryant, unheard on someone's recommendation. I also pre-ordered "Still Barking" from the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band after watching their video.
Seems like you only listing Csten to LPs from the South excepting Pearl Jam and Cantrell. There is a whole world of musoc out there, You should expand your musicall horizons

Nice list GI. Some good ones there I’ll check out for sure. I would add the new album from Black Country Communion and Billie Eilish as well.
Thanks for the Black Country Communion recommendation! I felt like there was a lack of strong hard rock in 2024 and this one proves me wrong!
I really listened more this year to Scream from New by Been Stellar, Opening track and Pumpkins are catchy but in time the whole albums calls you back. Im actually surprised how much I listened to it. Worth a try :)

Proof that the ‘80s had a strong year this year! Also, The Church, Modern English, X, and J Mascis put out great albums.
You gotta have MJ Lenderman's Manning Fireworks in there. That was the biggest omission to me.
Great picks mate, thanks for sharing!
thks nice selection i have most of your choices - still getting my top 10 as yet and i guarantee most will be different apart from leon bridges - he is a great soul singer

Not a Maiden fan personally
@ I don’t think there’s comparison between Maiden and Dickinsons solo work… but to each his own

I listen to plenty of music from all over the place. Just so happened that a good portion of my favorites this year had local/southern ties.
Not sure why..I seem the only person around that doesn't love..or much like Krungbin
I didn't see The Lemon Twigs come up, that list needs fixing.
Cartoon Darkness
Yep
