That’s what he is! Forget about titles like “maker” or “Celebrity” or whatnot. He is a “storyteller” everything he does or makes, tells a story. Not knowing him at all obviously this needs to be taken with a gram of salt, but it’s what I think is why he is so passionate about weathering and details, because the objects he invests his time in, tells a story!

@@tbird-z1r There's absolutely no evidence Adam did it, so stop saying he did do it. His sister's allegations are very bizarre and frankly don't make much sense. I don't want to discuss the details here, but I find it hard to believe a 9 year old Adam could do stuff this horrific and then on top of that display understanding of his actions by calling himself a certain moniker. 9 year olds aren't capable of this kind of stuff and don't have this kind of understanding, unless they've been molested themselves, and even then it's questionable.
I hope Adam doesn't read these BS comments.

Whatever the truth, I hope justice prevails. If Adam did do this stuff, he should be held accountable to the extent the law punishes 9-12 year olds for sexual crimes. If she is making this up, she should be held accountable as an adult trying to defame someone.

I appreciate Adam interacting with fans, as he says it makes someones day. I met Sir Roger Moore when I was 10 (this was the mid 1970's) and he was so generous with his time. He happily gave autographs and spent a few minutes talking to everyone around him. He was a true gentleman and is sadly missed by all of us, but he made a small boy happy.

I attended an e-learning conference in Las Vegas where Adam was the key note speaker. I was dressed as Jamie. I admit, I'm a fanboy. I arrived 45 minutes early so I could get a front row seat. I had no idea that my cosplay would create such a buzz. I spent the entire 45 minutes taking pictures with conference attendees who thought I was Jamie. The conference director even came up and thanked me for coming and said how nice of a surprise it was.
My cover was blown when Adam mentioned that he just left Jamie in another state and here he was. He laughed about it. That 45 minutes was amazing and fun. When someone asked for an autograph, I told them who I really was. The time I spent meeting people who thought I was an actual celebrity was intoxicating but I can see how it could be a bit tiring after a while.
I managed to follow Adam back stage and get a photo with him. Thanks Adam!

To paraphrase, he put it this way "I have met fans worldwide, MANY many times, and been asked the same questions MANY many times...but THIS fan right here, this is their FIRST time meeting someone that means SOO much to them, they have never done this before. So I enjoy each interaction, because THEY will remember this the rest of their lives...do I want them to remember me as some jerk that blew them off, or do I want to smile and let them remember me they way they HOPED I would be." I've known someone that was part of a popular PBS show, and while many would love to email/contact and meet this person, I tend to know what the 'other side' of their life is like and appreciate that, yes, we are ALL human and not some god to put on a pedestal. All I would want from meeting adam would be to tell him what his work meant to me and how he shaped me. Prefacing by saying I don't expect anything, his work is done, and I don't mean to put undue pressure, but mythbuster's brand of "Stop arguing and go find out. Be smart." just...wow. It's a core of my being. I wouldn't be me without mythbusters.

As someone who is extremely anxious, the first part of the answer is why I would never approach anyone who I recognised from TV if they came to the UK. The fact that I am so aware that I might be bothering them is just overpowering. Despite this, I believe you are the incarnation of Bob Ross in maker form, and I love to watch you make stuff and geek out about tools and props etc. Thank you for what you do 🙂

Hi Adam, you not only inspired me back in 2003 when this all started, but you have also recently helped me recover from a REAL heavy medical scare and recovery. I have since solved my anxiety issues from the event by following your 1 day build philosophy. Everytime I set out to do something, I challenge myself to perform it to myself as a one day build. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the healing effect you have too. This is most likely a silly think to say ... but if your every in Vancouver Canada, I would love to make you a meal in a house where you wont be treated like a celebrity. :) - Thank you again ... I can't imagine how hard it must be to be a famous person. What you were saying at the end is so true. To you, I will be someone that you will most likely never meet, never talk to, never interact with, etc., yet for me, you've been in my home for over 15 years. Your in my DVD collection, on my youtube notifications, etc. And yet, I can say with relative certainty, that I had probably a very close reaction of sadness and grief as you did when learning about Grant. I can totally see where that dynamic can be tough on your mind.

I always watched the show, but just started watching these and this might be my favorite so far. It has to be difficult emotionally and mentally to be met with familiarity by total strangers. Many of us feel like we know you, but you do not know US. Kudos to the epiphany and for you changing your behavior in light of it. Also, it reminds me of a story The Rock told on his Instagram about a fan interaction and the realization he had about making someone's day with his occasional minor inconvenience. He had a similar epiphany and it seems like he now finds joy and pleasure in something that's often a major negative to fame. Nice company you're keeping there Adam!

A few years ago I dove into RUclips by accident and at some point in this last year or so I found you here.

Adam, 6 years ago, almost to the day, my son and I had the pleasure of seeing you and Jamie in Cleveland, OH for the Behind the Myths Tour. My son even got pulled on stage for one of the high speed camera demos! We attended the meet and greet afterwards. You and Jamie could not have been more gracious. You were engaging AND engaged, and you took the time to answer all of our questions. The picture of the four of us has been my phone lock screen, my social media profile, and even the background on my laptop, at various times over the last 6 years. The show was great, but the interaction was even better. You made us feel you cared. It's a moment neither of us will ever forget. Thank you.

Not gonna lie, I was one of the hundreds of thousands of kids who grew up watching myth busters and Adam really inspired my love for film and science. He’s the reason I took engineering courses in highschool and tried harder in science classes because he made in me a love for it. Now I’m in college, I’m a 3D animation student and while going through my stuff I found a wheel I made for a power tool race car I built and all I could think about was how my interest all spawned from that show. If I ever get the chance I would love for him to have it. The dude legit helped model who I am today and I’m happy for it. I hope he sees this.

I was too awestruck to strike up a conversation, but my wife promptly launched into thanking Adam for pointing out how the show helped out with making science interesting and accessible to her students. Adam's face transformed, and next thing I know the two have launched into a full conversation regarding things such as the "Things I Won't Work With" website, lab safety, etc. It was definitely an epic experience!
