tldr: Fundamentals and basics matter, (and even when you know them well) to protect against forgetting, they're worth turning into SuperMemo items with active recall 5-7 times in your entire lifetime. This works like an insurance where you pay a negligible price regularly but will be reimbursed in case an improbable negative event coming to pass anyway.
This was one of the things that turned me into a flashcard addict: understanding the relationship between effort and results. By doing SuperMemo (Or Anki) every day, I was paying with my time (present and future) for perfect recall of well formulated items. Instead of spending hours studying only to forget information, I was making the “minimum payment” necessary to buy a perfect memory. Kind of like a memory Netflix subscription fee.
@@PleasurableLearning Haha, you’re right! I took a pic the next day but forgot to reply here: I did one repetition that started in 2014 and I’m on repetition number 11, my next rep is in October 2028.
That seems quite condensed. 4y next interval as the 11th rep is quite repetition dense. This is just one isolated flashcard. What I asked is the average. You can see this in the stats window, Repetitions cell I=number (the other is for topics). For older items, you would need to go View->items->filter (F8)->filter by date->process browser->statistics->check "items repetitions"

Nice! Better summary than any AI could do! :)

What is your avg repetition count for items? and for items created 5y ago or earlier?
@@PleasurableLearning I’ll check it next time I do my reps tomorrow morning 👍
Seems that you forgot :)
