**UPDATE**: At 3:30 into the video, I mention having a choice about plugging the LED strip back into the circuit board. Ignore that and plug the LED strip into the circuit board white port that is empty that wasn't connected at the beginning of the video or else the LED light won't work and the controller won't charge! Shoutout out to Neil for letting me know of the mistake!

Compressed air didn't fix my controller. Maybe I should have opened the little green box too? Edit: I opened it this time, cleaned the potentiometer and now it works fine.
This is the hard way. I did it the easy. Buy a new controller with cash and open it and replace the contents inside with the old ones. Take it back and get your cash back. So easy
Thank you so much! I had almost new controller that had left stick drift. I used lots of electric cleaner, spinned and clicked them, then blow with compressed air. Did this couple times and looks like it fixed the problem 👍 imo its easier to take apart and back with touch pad wire removed. This was much more tight than my first controller

I barely pulled that white plug and the whole thing came off. barely pulled it... I'd live the thing alone like other vids I watched afterwards.. thanks for the help.... smh

Why is it so hard for them to design a controller that would make it easier to clean? The can easily design it so that you can acess the sticks to clean them, without having to take the whole thing apart. Im too scared to do this because its my only controller and I dont want to break it😅
Its not that its hard at all it's all about money, they could literally fix this issue entirely where no cleaning would even be necessary by replacing the analog thumbstick module with these things called "Hall Effect Thumbsticks" which are thumbsticks that will literally never have stick drift because they use magnets. The problem is that then they would "lose" billions of dollars as the number of people needing to continuously buy new controllers would drop drastically 🙃.

I spent $65 on a new ps4 controller back in February, and it already has stick drift and dead zone issues. They are greedy bastards forsure. There's absolutely no reason controller's that cost this much should be breaking and having issues, other than money hungry douche flutes, like you said. Are those magnetic controller's available for ps4? Idc if they're more expensive. I just can't bring myself to spend another $70 on a controller that can just crap out on me any time.

The reassembly part is the hardest, wish you would show how to slide the front part back on
Use Tweezers for the Touchpad connector, just slide it thru the hole. ik im late but it will help anyone whos attempting this

Blowing air via compressed or from lungs into analogue sticks has never worked in any of the controllers I've repaired.
