It is confirmed that this Polar Bear was old and dying (spots on the nose tell the age of a polar bear). The area where this was filmed has actually a very stable number of polar bears for years now. So yes, maybe polar bears do suffer from climate change, but not this one.
There is a issue here. Melting sea ice, poluted oceans, and lack of food. Can we as human beings accept this? We can shape the future to our benefit. But we should always keep in mind, that it's thanks to nature that we even exist and can survive.

Stop misleading people the photo was taken during the Summer and the other bears in the area are thriving. This could simply be an injury or illness. Polar bear scientists have also said the video is misleading. Look up the national post for more details

What do you think happens to the healthy polar bears you normally see when they get towards the ends of their lives? They slow down, they can't find food, and they die much like this poor bear, but most documentaries spare us that unpleasant sight. According to the WWF, polar bear numbers have tripled since the 1950s and besides, they have survived 5 inter-glacial periods before in their history (where the Arctic melts entirely) Believe in climate change or not - footage of one starving polar bear means nothing other than propaganda.

It is confirmed that this Polar Bear was old and dying (spots on the nose tell the age of a polar bear). The area where this was filmed has actually a very stable number of polar bears for years now. So yes, maybe polar bears do suffer from climate change, but not this one.

There is a issue here. Melting sea ice, poluted oceans, and lack of food. Can we as human beings accept this? We can shape the future to our benefit. But we should always keep in mind, that it's thanks to nature that we even exist and can survive.

So... basically they didn’t do anything, they just filmed it. Hello!? They obviously saw that he was starving... they complain about people not taking “action”, and they go and do the same thing, just watched him struggle. It wasn’t about this polar bear, it’s about the bigger picture... BS! It starts with just one. Polar bears are not martyrs. If that was a starving human child, would they just watch him/her die too or would they have tried a little harder? Call in an airlift! Give him your food, catch him a fish... anything. This documentation was heartbreaking to watch again. 💔 ...at the very least, I hope it brings awareness, but that still isn’t enough. Sorry y’all, I’m just upset and disappointed.

Stop misleading people the photo was taken during the Summer and the other bears in the area are thriving. This could simply be an injury or illness. Polar bear scientists have also said the video is misleading. Look up the national post for more details
This is not climate change,polar bears are healthy,growing populations as of 2018 ,this was a starving bear,even the photographer states that he does not know what has caused this bear to starve ,so stop getting emotional about how human's caused this !

You do know that animals starve and die all the time. Global climate change is a real problem but there is no evidence that this bear is starving because of that and in fact the photographer says he saw big, healthy bears before seeing the dying bear. It is a sad image but does not deserve world attention.
This polar bear is old and dying. Cry for them if you will but they don't live forever. Notice that Paul Nicklen mentioned other FAT polar bears around the corner. In the early 1970's their population was around 1000 to 5000. Polar bears are listed as vulnerable to extinction, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, and there are around 36,000 individuals left in the wild. I've seen other estimates between 22,000 to over 50,000.
