congrats mister cotton my favorite part about this ycs was the guy from the interview who was asked who he would like to play against and answered "they arent here" 😂
congrats on your victory sometimes you just get lucky and like my late father used to say i rather be lucky than good as for me YCS Anaheim will be my retirement event from modern Yugioh as i have been grinding on my health quest going on 3 years now to go from 460+ lbs down to 260 i have lost a lot of weight in that time but old sports injuries have flared up and the gap between players with near unlimited budgets to players like me on disability the game has become less about skill and more about money while the prize support has not changed with other games that's just not cool that i can have 15+ yrs on a player in exp and lose due to the fact they have a bigger wallet

2k calories is not a flat stat you could take for everbody. It could be a good indication because its the average recommondation in Europe. Rather do a 200-500 calorie deficit (tracking calories is super important) in combination with daily walks, filling and healthy food and 2/3 times a week of your favorite sport like swimming or going to the gym.
Tbh, getting a throphy and the feeling of being the best of the best of the best is still a great prizing, but yeah, konami should at least help the participants with the expenses of showing up, if they wont give a good prize money.
Wow… snake-eye fiendsmith won. I’m so.. not shocked. I mean congrats to him, clearly he’s an exceptional pilot. But no surprise the best deck takes the cake. Fun.
Mr. Kotton, Jesse. Victory upload. Also, I am glad I had the opportunity to watch you win through the YCS Sacramento featured final match. Congratulations. Bravo. Jesse 2024! -J.T
I busted my ass and practiced so much. Just to have Jesse brag about coming in unprepared and clean sweeping us. I went X-3 and dropped round 7 cause there was no point in continuing.
I’m a boomer player and my only attachment to modern Yugioh is videos like this. The short games sound lame as hell with all the turn 1 spam, but the longer games sounds really good
@@metalmariomega im just proposing magnamhut lol, the ocg has them all limited, same with MD, we also have dd.crow, ghost belle, etc. We have enough options in all fairness. Also everyone are maining just 4, when you can main more of them if we want to go by that logic of “needing more of them”
Hey Jesse. Question from a master duel player. If I showed up to YCS, what’s the policy for new players taking up time reading cards? If I saw cards that weren’t in master duel, I would have to do a lot of reading but would probably feel bad about it. Do opponents get frustrated with that or are they for the most part helpful to people learning? How would you react? Not a kid playing but an adult. Do you fully expect them to have full knowledge of playing irl from locals?
Part of the reason I ask if I don’t have a locals near me, last time I played another human in real life was my brother around 2005 when he would cheat every way possible, swap cards, put spells as face downs so I’d be scared to attack… lol. I’m above average at MD so I’d love to try a locals or whatever but I feel like I’ve been out of it for too long, I’d be a lost dog.
I would figure out what the top 4 decks should be at the event and just learn those cards and combo lines. Use duelingbook to read over all the cards you don't know and you'll be fine if you put in enough work :)
I'd try to prepare the best you can and maybe try to go to a regional first. Generally speaking it does help to know what popular cards do going in, but its not required. I've played agianst brand new players before at regionals and there werent any problems. If anything I'd make sure you know how your cards work as much as possible and tell your opponent that you are new to help prevent shenanigans. By the end of the event you're unlikely to know what your opponent is on at the lower tables anyway. If someone causes a stink that's on them, and they probably would have found something to complain about anyway.
Know your own deck, Know the cards and at least the main lines of the top 4-5 decks and you'll be good Reading and double checking how cards work is perfectly fine but you can't spend like 20 mins learning how cannahawk works mid-game If you've never played in paper before id def take some time on db while its not the most user friendly platform it is good practice Also even if you don't plan on playing the side events bring a deck so you have the option available
Well the idea is if you need to read you will probably lose as you dont know what your opponent will do. Sure theyd think youre stalling for time but in reqlity youre just losing lol
1 free auto win is one thing, but he had 2 and that just feels like a free win of an entire tournament for someone like Jessie. Man didn't even have to try. It's like he said, only reason he won was because he got lucky. Which is the absolute case for the current format. Deck building be damned. Draw better or lose.
So you want him to just not play ? What’s your end game here. He was literally humble and said it was luck. wtf more do you want him to do? He was planning on playing crystal beasts but couldn’t find the cards.

Not only will you lose a massive amount of weight, and clear up your skin, but your mental clarity and focus will be enhanced. You're already smart af, I'd love to see your results.
Congrats but tbh using a tear 0 deck isnt that much to brag about. Id LOVE to see someone win with the deck they love not just the flavor of the format.
He used an effect wrong so many times there and should've been disqualified. Just because you're jesse kotton doesn't mean a specific card works the way you want it to. He got called out at the finals. This win is sus. He cheated all his opponents except his final opponent
