I honestly could not tell any real differences between their album recordings and their live performance. I can not wait to see them live again!
Very tribal. And I love the correlation between the ancient warrior on horseback, contrasted with the warriors of today on motorcycles. (The modern equivalent). Very"call to arms", and culturally connected. The Mongols were fierce warriors, and their culture is so tied to tradition, and stories, and songs that celebrate these qualities. I Love foreign cultures and world music in general, but this is an amazing fusion of traditional and contemporary styles. Great choice.
Dear Katriinka, Hu is the Mongolian root word for Human. As you see Mongolia as well as Dimash's Kazakhstan have a variety of 2 string instruments. I saw them last year when they opened for Babymetal. They sound amazing live, and even with minimal English skills, they had the crowd roaring. Definitely worth the price of admission.
His voice reminds me of a didgeridoo how his voice goes with the strings. Just beautiful.
Awesome reaction. Such a great song. Yuve Yuve Yu is beautiful too. Cheers!
The Hu is an amazing band. One band member..Gala has an individual video of him playing his horse head fiddle and throat singing.. Hu also did a collaboration with Lizzy Hale ..song of woman... another great song you might really enjoy.
thank you Shelley! :)
I second this suggestion!
Good choice. I just discovered that version of it today.
Link please?
@@Tioko ruclips.net/video/Z0xeFOHGjcQ/видео.html. Gala playing fiddle and throat singing
I have always loved indigenous throat singing. Especially in Inuit, Cree, Sami, Tibetan and Mongolian. An absolutely amazing skill. Thank you for actually being rather knowledgeable in pagan religions and music. Much respect your way. Love the accent too by the way, just... wow.
*_Your loving soul radiates its positive energy even to us in Germany. I wish you and your family a full and wonderful life._*
I love your reactions. First i have seen a Nightwish Reaction from you. But when you Sing this Hu Hu. Its so beautiful and i see the fun in you. Love your reactions already
I just saw them live, and their music feels like it goes right through your core being. So amazing!
This song still gives me chills hearing it
Throat singing is a Mongolia art it take a really long time to learn that.
The loose term is "Throught Singing" and found in Mongolian, Siberian, Saxon, and Nordic cultures.
Their live shows are some of the greatest, energy I've ever felt at a live show. Saw them in Dallas pre-covid. It was a smaller venue so we were all packed in close and just flowing with the music!
Great choice.
omg im inlove with katriinka. She is so cute and I think I can listen to her just talking the whole day! haha More power and God bless you! 💚💚
Dear Katriinka, Hu is the Mongolian root word for Human. As you see Mongolia as well as Dimash's Kazakhstan have a variety of 2 string instruments. I don't remember so if you haven't already PLEASE react to Dimash and Tengri Swan Goose. Tengri & the band & instruments are from Mongolia. They also have throat singing during the song. For this song, if you didn't please look at the subtitles. As always, you & your back's health remain forever in my thoughts & prayers. 👱♀️👗👠👠🙏💓
thank you so so much shania! :)
Yeah Tengri is amazing
"Hu is the Mongolian root word for Human" - Correct, it is the syllabic root of the word. Too many commenters get that wrong and state that it IS the word for "human." Props for making the distinction.
@@TheHomelessDreamer Thank you. I pride myself on trying to be correct with everything I tell people, even though a lot of men call me a dumb blond woman only based on my natural blond hair. The funniest thing is when men tell a dumb blond joke I ALWAYS get it and a number of brunettes and redheads have to get an explanation of the joke. I actually challenge the men to try to stump me and not one has been able to. LOL 👱♀️👗👠👠😃😍
@@shanialover Don't count me among those who 1. doubt your intellect 2. think hair color is a reflection of that same intellect.
I have been listening to these guys for about 11 months now and they are simply just downright amazing! Every song you can feel their ancestors I guess inside of you. Or at least that's my experience. And the music is phenomenal. I would love to have just music with no chanting or anything just the music by these guys. These guys are the type of band that you have to listen to every single day. I have not grown tired of it. My special needs son loves them! And I can't wait till new music comes out
Glad to see you reacting to this great and unique band!
thank you Rosanna! :)
Another Amazing Reaction you always make us Trinkies very happy, thank you.
Must admit this is a very different song than I normally listen to I get a kind of modern tribal vibe from it. but its slowly growing on me. Thank you for intruducting me to the band :D
Thank you my lovely
Yes, yes, YES! I love the band and of course your reaction was perfect. By the way, they released a live performance for a COVID charity cause. The sound quality is amazing and they are extremely special performers. I strongly recommend checking it out. If you want to instead check out another official video, the did a collaboration with Lzzy Hale to add a twist to "Song of Women" that would be a great place to see how they blend with a contemporary artist. I love that you are so interested in metal, there is so much amazing music there for you to discover. I hope your back is ok from the headbanging, it's a hazard with amazing metal bands. I just tweaked my neck listening to Orbit Culture so I know the risk well!
ooooh I would love to see the one with Lizzy Hale! Thank you for recommendations!
@@Katriinka ruclips.net/video/mdN1U9NvuIc/видео.html It really is a superb mixture of cultures and styles.
Too bad that video doesn’t have CC’s, though :( I’d love to follow the lyrics to the Mongolian part as well. Otherwise you have to go to the comments to find a translation.
Hey! I saw your reaction and i love it.
Mexico in the house!!!
The HU traditional Mongolian singing meat heavy metal and I love it
If you look at the translation, the lyrics are basically them listing off all the many ways they're going to kick your ass.
Mongolian warriors were famed for fighting on horseback, and the transition to motorcycle ( modern horses ) is quite a nice touch
You'd dig reading about the White Scars.
This song seriously puts me in a trance
No se, que dices 😆
Please react to The HU - Song of Women feat. Lzzy Hale of Halestorm
i could hear you saying "incredibly" all day everyday! most beautiful accent i have ever heard!
This video connects to the primal nature in all of us as humans, regardless of our culture. 🧬 🌎 🥁 🎻 Will you react to the Hu’s song, “song of women” with Lzzy Hale? It is different, but just as amazing. 🥰
You are so beautiful. Adorable. Thanks for make this reaction. I love The Hu. I’m appreciate
Should have played the captions on this one. It's all about going to war. This is supposed to get you pumped up.
The translation here:
If lions come, we'll fight until the end
If tigers come, we'll fight and battle
If elephants come, we'll fight in rage
If humans come, we'll fight and obliterate
We, If lions come, we'll fight until the end
If tigers come, we'll fight and battle
If elephants come, we'll fight in rage
If humans come, we'll fight and obliterate
If you come as snakes, we'll become Garuda birds and fly over you
If you come as tigers, we'll face you as Lions with blue mane
HU HU HU HU HU HU HU HU
If you come with evil intentions, we'll give you a fight!
Ten of us will strike you as thunder
Hundred of us will shatter your hearts
Thousand of us will destroy and obliterate
Ten thousand of us will hand you the wrath of heaven!
If you come as flood, we'll fight until the death
If you come swarming, we'll scatter you around
If you come flying, we'll shoot you down with our archeries
If you come charging, we'll slice you with our swords
HU HU HU HU HU HU HU HU
Let's cut through them as speed of flying falcons
Let's burn within as the hearts of wolves!
Let's stampede with our horses
Let's defeat them with the wisdom of our Great Khaan, Chinggis!
HU HU HU HU HU HU HU HU
2:38-2:59 this part is just so badass it's like a battle chant before you go to war, mongols are like the Vikings of Asia
@Jay Pat uhmm, the Vikings founded the Empire of Kiev, concuered a big chunk of Britain, founded London (as a city), raided Paris, twice!! Discovered America and middle East, discovered Arabian peninsule (Iraq/Iran), became the personal bodyguards for the Byzantine Emperor, founded colonies on Greenland, Svalbard and Iceland.
They mostly never intended to concuer territory, that was not their goal. And known as elite mercenaries allover Europe, Asia and Middle East.
@Jay Pat yeah yeah whatever ugh theres always gotta be that one person
Mongolian throat singing is amazing!
I see the infinite howling void of "TOOL" fans hasn't sufficiently bent the will of this channel yet. ...one finds a vicarious euphoria riding through the spiral that is TOOL....:]
I don't know why but this song always gets me going. Also, it made me start learning throat singing since it was a thing in our culture too.
It's more like the flag/banner/standards carried by their ancestors is carried by them now.
Always loved THE HU. Thank you
This song is Very different but is só good !! I like that !!
me too, a lot! :)
@@Katriinka , Thanks to share with us, different kinds of songs !! creating a different perspective in musical terms
Hi,
Great reaction video!
Please watch this video again, but turn on the subtitles/captions and understand what they are singing, it is scary.
Katriinka should react to home free Folsom prison blues Tim will blow your mind 😊 love what you do and you have an amazing voice
Thank you THANK you THANK YOU, you are first reactor I have watched who gets the connection with the bikers and the horseman
A suggest, this week, the World Lost Mr. Edward Van Halen - " The Legend " , one react about Van Halen Will bê special ...
Their live performance is indeed very impressive. I saw them live last year in Copenhagen. Definitely check them live if you get the chance in a post-covid world :)
Would really enjoy seeing you do voice play ..just sing. And some more homefree!!!! For this group they did one with the singer from papa roach... reallly good...
I LOVED it when you joined in with the chanting.... Hu Hu Hu Hu
Alien Weaponry,The HU,Bloodywood.....the unholy Trinity!
the bikes represent modern horses. us mongolians have always been fond of horses. they are a part of our culture
If you liked this song, I highly recommend Sugaan Essana by the same band.
The strings are morin khuur and tovshuur
You can't play this song so loud that the neighbors can hear. It can create a spotaneous horde which will then conquer the neighborhood, and it'll be a right mess to clean up.
You reacted to thissss 🥺 .. this is all about their tradition .. huhu this is my boyfriend's fave trot singers!!
I'd love to see you react to Heilung songs like: Krigsgaldr, In Maidjan, Alfadhirhaiti and Norupo
Yes! She was so near reacting to Heilung. I wonder whether she knew at that time but with the help of several suggestions towards Heilung I hope she knows now and takes the opportunity to take the last step and go to the original LIFA videos ;-) I think In Maidjan is a special one for vocal coaches but there is no bad song from Heilung.
Love The Hu. They made me interested in throat singing to the point where I learned how to do it for fun. I'm pretty cr*p, but still love the texture of the sound and am amazed it can come out of my body.
You should check out their song they did for the Stars Wars: Jedi Fallen Order game. Very cool!
I kinda feel like it’s less impactful because it’s an artificial language rather than Mongolian 🤷🏻♀️ Still a really cool song, though.
Speaking of sci-fi and fantasy, I can’t help but associate this band with Orcs. Specifically, Warcraft orcs, before Mannoroth’s blood/after his defeat. “FOR THE HORDE!”, honor, warriors and shamanism and all that.
If you haven't checked it out yet, their "Song of Women" featuring Lzzy Hale is incredible! I love The Hu so much
The true intensity of song can be understood only after learing the meaning of lyrics it's a War song.
Some of the coolest instruments I've seen in years...Love these guys. Very "tribal." Lol, something I can connect with being Native American.
If you enjoyed the music in the Hellblade Trailer you should definitely have a listen to Heilung :D
thank you for recommendation! :)

watching the original video with the subtitle turned on is another experience. The lyrics are so powerfull. It gave me chills.
Since you've now dabbled to metal abit, my suggestion would be babymetal - megitsune. Please dont be misled by the name. The singer is 15 at time of the recording! Thank you coach!
I was just watching their music video and discovered that you already reacted to it. Wow!
You need to check out this song featuring Jacoby Shaddix and also listen to Yuve Yuve Yu
Claro bonita...
I like your reaction. I was lucky enough to have seen them live in Adelaide Australia.
