What he is singing in English is the translation of what they are singing in Mongolian. This is actually a Mongolian song that is about 1000 years old literally, about Ghengis Khan
You are absolutely wrong, Tümengken Tsoghtu Khong Tayiji the mongolian noble, who was descendant of Chinggis Khaan, said in the Mongolian movie from 1945. You can find it on the youtube, if you want.
I loved this song from the first time I heard it. Something about how the Hu's Mongolian Throat Singing mixes so well with Jacoby's vocals. Like you both said... A match made in heaven. I like the original video featuring just The HU as well, but this video is on a whole different level! It would be so cool if Papa Roach invited The Hu to go on a North American tour with them! I would fly across the country just to see that! :)
I've been hearing this version for a few weeks on Big Dog 106 in Beaumont, Texas, over IHeart Radio. I've been realy happy that HU Band is getting some airplay in the U.S.!
This band is awesome. They take traditional Mongolian songs that have been sung since the days of Ghengis Khan and put them to modern music. Now imagine a horde of Mongols preparing for war, singing this song in the thousands and drums beating. That’s what they did before combat. They lived for two things. Killing and Partying
Check out all their videos they are all totally awesome. This is the coolest awesomest band on the planet and they keep getting better over time and if you ever get an opportunity to see them live take it.
I’ll admit at first when I heard that Jacoby was going to sing with The Hu on Wolf Totem I was sceptical but that turned around so fast when it came out like holy hell I was not expecting it to be so good
The one Mongolian lyric of this song I can always remember the translation of is the one at 4:22. In English it translates to, "If you come with evil intentions, be ready for a fight!"
BAT--- great grandson of Genghis Khan conquered all of Russia and half of Europe. he was the only one of the grandchildren of Genghis Khan who conquered the lands of Europe. and he would have conquered all of Europe if he had not returned home to the golden horde. but he never got home ... died of injuries on the way on the banks of the Russian Volga river. he was only 47 years old. and they say that, unlike all the khans, he was the only one who led his troops himself and fought with them like an ordinary warrior. from birth his father trained him as a warrior and he grew up to be a professional assassin. Genghis Khan adored him very much. Bat--- was a favorite of Genghis Khan.
I read the title and came in expecting to hate this, expecting to be disappointed. I thought "How could you do this?" Then I listened to it. I was wrong! This is so awesome!!! I have to get a copy.
Why The Hu's song is awesome. It,s rock and put some warrior spirit to the song. So it's not just a theme for just rebelling spirit but spirit to go to war! Sorry my bad language.
You need to react to the Hu's "Sugaan Essena". This is an adaptation they did of their song "Black Thunder"...for a Star Wars video game (long story). Great stuff, and you get fascinating closeups of the band working their unique instruments.
You should also check out "Sugaan Essena", the song they wrote for "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order." Fun fact: the song is not a soundtrack, as such, but is actually an integeral part of the in-game universe. And as the game is officially Star Wars canon...
I’m feeling and hearing blues in the midst of this crazy morphing of music cultures. Awesome video guys, totally digging it ! Thanks for playing this. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
For the record: nobody wants the Mongol Empire back, except Mongols. It was the largest cohesive empire that ever existed, from the Far East to and including Eastern Europe. And they did not achieve that with kind requests. But I prefer the original song because it's more exotic.
normal mongolian people also does not want reconquer the world again, also not the Hu - they only remembering their past and history... and yes, the original is better 🙂
Naah, we won't be conquering anything again even if you plead us to do so. Having people with different religions, values, etc... in one country is just impossible, i would rather live with people that share most things with me. If there will ever be an opportunity, we just want to free our mongolian people and their lands from the countries that have occupied them one way or another and reunite once again. That is what the Great Khan did in his time, and that is why we "worship" him, not because he and his sons conquered the most land or whatever, never the less that was still damn impressive but doomed to fail.
@@jabs615 The Great Khan did not liberate any Mongols, he created THE Mongols. National borders are always just a compromise and you never get a people as a whole into a country. Unless you oppress the foreign peoples on your borders. You have to do what you accuse the stranger. For a very long time the khans managed to hold cultural differences together. The empire is broken by size. It could no longer be managed centrally and broke up into individual parts. These were empires like everyone else and disappeared like them.
amazing song. my dad told me to check them out. I was not disappointed. shows how two completely different cultures can come together and create (in my opinion) a truly epic song. also check out their cover ofsad but true
I'm not a huge fan of Papa Roach but I think Jacoby shaddix should be one of the front men with the hu he just sounds a lot better. I know I requested this before but you have to have to listen to march of mephisto by kamelot. This song is during the khan era

I love how mid way through the song you guys just are so fixed to this song like you forgot all of the worlds problem's. I did the same thing. Xxxxx
Have you seen their metallic cover yet? Sad but true.
Liliac released their cover of Seven Nations Army today....would love to see you react to it
"Hellfire rainin down upon my people,
If you come to bring the evil
We can bury it today." Most coldblooded verse in the song.
Most cold blooded verse in metal, cause they mean it.

Awesome reaction. Love you guys!! Check out "Song of women" featuring Lzzy Hale
I love The HU almost as much as THE WOLF HUNTERZ. Peace
I honestly can't picture a better band out "right now" then The Hu !!! There kick ass and there so talented it's not even funny!
Favorote rock song of 2020! Loved your reaction!

That one is a killer they should react to that one . 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Your reaction SUPER!!!
If you bring evil intentions we'll give you a fight
You can’t help but bob your head to this song. The English vocals and Mongolian throat singing/vocals blend together amazingly.

I always prefer the original...but this works on its own level. Jacoby is singing the English translation of the original Mongolian.
You guys are fun!
LOVED your energy
This song is FIRE 🔥🔥🤘🤘!!
Sugaan Essena reaction, a canon song within Star Wars universe
The lyrics that Jacoby is singing are almost a translation of the original Wolf Totem.
Those are the actual lyrics translated because it’s the ancient Mongolian war song
such a sick and a holy fire of a collaboration ladies & gentlemen

Hu Hu Hu! Nise!
On another note, I love how the English lyrics just seem to be the actual mongolian lyrics shifted as slightly as possible to make it rhyme in English
In the end Jacoby: ok, guys, we did it, lets go to hard drink!.."))))
