Depends on how you're interpreting "we totally got this." What I heard in what Mark was saying is that humanity has faced many worse scourges (and viruses) and we've survived, learned, and ultimately thrived. I don't think he was saying "this will be over in less than 1 year and 9 months."
I think he meant "if we ALL care and take the precautions, then we totally got this!" But as you can see, people rather blame someone else for temporal uncomfortability, only extending it forward...

I found this product about 4 years ago. As a preschool teacher I used this as part of our unit on germs at the beginning of each school year and again mid year. The kids loved the challenge of washing their hands well enough to get it all off. One of my favorite products.
I remember one of our coaches did this with us at summer camp, I've never thought about germs the same since

We did a variation of this as part of our infectious disease/fomite transmission class for animal shelter staff and volunteers. We also included a vaccination efficacy and impact component, and the course was both popular and informative.

It isn't as bad here in Australia but in my school which is in Morayfield we do have a plan for when we have to shut down but we're still at school, and we're just banning assemblies and other mass gatherings (cross country, swimming carnivals etc.)
