The one place I don't cheap out on is on clamps and safety cables. There's too much riding on them, particularly for fixtures flown overhead. I always go with a Global Truss trigger clamp because I know it's been tested and certified, and they're built like tanks. Definitely more expensive, but worth it.
I have those NPFs and the battery indicators on mine get stuck on and they trickle drain the batteries and give the wrong reading. Super frustrating. Glad they seem to be working out for others though.
Hey Ryland! Random question that came to my mind when you mentioned the batteries - we got that same GVM slider you have on your recommendation and love it! I just was curious if you had come across a way to connect it to constant power as opposed to a battery? The remote appears to have a power input - just haven't come across anything that looks to be exactly what I'd need. Appreciate all you do!
Hey Ryland! I purchased the camera stand for the slider, however, the thread is too big to lock on to the slider. Did you have to use a converter thread to be able to twist it on the slider?
Great video Ryland! Ive been seeing the Shimbol TP Mini wireless HDMI transmitter around a lot and I think it may be interesting to check out. it's around $89 and is modeled around the Vaxis ATOM 500. Ive seen a lot of RUclips reviews from people in the film space but none in the live event space.
I can verify that cheap USB capture cards are unreliable. They will never look as good and will peeter out within a few months. As for the NPF batteries...I freaking love them!! I have 6 and they have never failed me once. I think they are an amazing alternative to using a v-mount battery for a camera system. The pair can last as long as a small v mount but at a quarter of the cost. I can run my R6 video setup for around 5hrs. Also they double as a battery bank.

fair enough.
Do I remember you doing a video about budget in ears? I love the TRN ST2’s after buying many many sub $30 ears.
Hey bro! Yep ruclips.net/video/_taS44yyXAA/видео.htmlsi=Afarmj0Fvys12_Ui I'll have to check those out.

Another great video! Are those NPF batteries compatible with Teradek ACE 500?
@@JRDay99 yep that’s our main use 👍
@@RylandRussell Thanks!

I use that HDMI capture and have done ok with it. Yeah the color is a little off, but for the price point its ok.

yes, I believe it comes with the 3/8 to 1/4 20 adapter? That is correct you do need that.

4:37 isn't that an input charge usb port?
Correct. The usb-c is to charge battery if you want which is pretty cool. It has a usb-a on the other side for output.
