I love that man. He never sold out.
There are moments where I feel that warm compassionate energy from Russell. Morrissey as well. Never believe what you read in the tabs.
I love the way Morrissey calls being young "Early." So cute.
Morrissey makes a very good point about animal cruelty. He is bang on - a passionate, deeply principled individual.
What a great interview, It's good to see Morrisey's actually seeming to WANT to be in an interview. Well, Russel's Brilliant, thats why.

I agree - people always bang on about how taciturn and awkward he is but if interviewers just talk to him in an interested an engaged way, rather than expecting chit-chat, as on the One Show, then he comes across as the down-to-earth and intelligent man he is.
This charming man Morrissey is ! Graceful, good-hearted, true... you can't help loving him !

This interview takes place in the house that Russell rents in the Hollywood Hills. Moz' house (used to be his house) was just down the road, you could see the roof and driveway from the patio at Russell's house. Pretty cool looking in there at night, innit?

I love this because the genuine affection from both camps is palpable.
kind of hard to hear what is being said, but, I could SEE their genuine interaction, so that was quite nice. Mozzer is so far removed from his younger days.. He seems much more chill, more in-touch with himself. Good on him.
Morrissey is Brand's favorite artist if I'm not mistaken, I'm sure he was delighted to interview him.
1:52 Am I the only one who finds this deeply upsetting? The pain he describes and expresses is heart wrenching.

this is probs the first time russell's interviewed someone - look how he actually listens to what they're saying and not turn it back to himself all the time.
No matter how much I try to dismiss Morrissey as someone of my past and no matter how I try to label him as someone I used to be into, he keeps creeping up on me like the plague. There is no one in music who has ever {or will ever} make such an honest statement in his writing. The only person that I can compare Morrissey to in a non-musical terms is Howard Stern. My two heroes who are the only two heroes in this awful celebrity age who tell the truth. All honesty, no bullshit.

Best interview I've seen so far with Mozza. Brand is at least engaging with Morrisey and asking some intelligent human questions. Morrisey reciprocates in kind and begins to loosen-up. Both guys would get into heaven if I was god 4 sure!

Being 55 years old, I, of course, heard of Morrisey and The Smiths. But until yesterday I’d never heard him speak nor heard any of his music. Iron Maiden is more my style. I started digging deeper upon hearing of his political views. The dude seems super deep, intelligent and principled.
it was a two track tape with 'Picadilly Palare' on one side and (sorry) i dont remember the other side, BUT Picadilly Palare was and still is a unique and beautiful track that i will not ever forget.
Russell Brand is awsome, So is Morrisey.

People are always having a pop at Morrissey, why? All he ever does is tell the truth. In terms of his vegetarianism, I guess people dislike him because, instead of looking themselves in the mirror and knowing they are wrong for supporting the murder of animals by eating meat, they would rather just insult someone who is strong enough to stop eating meat. The only reason people eat meat is because it is convenient and tastes nice, that is it. Any other reason given is just some pathetic excuse that people use to try comfort themselves whilst eating animals.
Not a huge fan of Morrisey but his voice sooths me.

Morrissey, characteristically righteous, intercut with risible imagery. The pictures are bad enough, without throwing them up multiple times. I really like Years of Refusal, but this video - and Morrissey - do their best to put me off.

russ never kept low key in private affiars after this and see how he looks so frustrated now when hes interviewd, listen to morrisey and keep it low key, good advice from mozz, Gouranga!
Morrissey's latest album (Years Of Refusal) is a good delivery - sure. It has a "Your Arsenal" feeling to it; definitely although many of the tracks sound pretty much the same throughout the album, I personally prefer : "Black Cloud", All You Need Is Me; When Last I spoke To Carol; That's How People Grow Up; I'm Ok by My Self, and some other track around that same line...
