52 80 it seems like people have made this point already, but I guess I could add the answer here too: Being treated badly isn’t a reason to leave a country. No country is perfect, and the way racism goes on in America should change. If we kicked out all the people who didn’t like the racism in our country, we’d be left with so few people we wouldn’t be as great or important or influential a country as we are. Wanting to be a part of America and getting along with everyone who’s a part of America isn’t a reason to leave, it’s a reason to try and fix the problems we have. If you think the fact that people disagree with you means they should leave, you’re missing the point of disagreement, and are shortsighted. Why should a Mexican family leave, and not the American who was already here? Is it because the American was ‘here first’? Because Americans WERENT HERE FIRST. Native Americans were, and they have the same complaints about racism as the Mexican father has. Any reason for a new American to leave America is a reason for older Americans to leave America. The truth is, they are here, they are living with us as part of our nation, and they ARE American now. That is why Mexicans shouldn’t be going back to Mexico just because they don’t like the fact that they’re being treated badly. If racists are treating Mexicans badly when they’re trying to fit in, the racists need to change. This is not the entire reasoning behind why “why not go back” is wrong, but it’s a pretty basic explanation that too many people don’t seem aware of. That’s the best answer I can give right now. It’s not much, because I’m just some YA on the internet who had 5 minutes to spare, I’m not an expert for either side, but I do have the opinion that wanting Mexicans to leave is generally wrong, and I appear to be about the same level of informed as you on this topic, just on the other side. Hope this explanation helps.
Carrson Canady how do you expect to come to any sort of middle ground or agreement by just speaking about issues in a room full of people who have the same mindset as you? By disagreeing with the Mexican father he managed to get him to explain more of his beliefs witch is a good thing, at the end of the day this is a open discussion and what’s the point of open discussions without people who disagree
@@dinoboii5987 That is a valid point. But there is a line to be drawn objectively from what you can say approriately within the realm of possiblity and what people will consider absolutely abbhorent. If no one will side with you on the second option what's the point of saying it?
"Try being white in a black neighborhood" Well I can speak for that. I'm white and lived in a lower-class area of northern Raleigh for a couple years with my wife and young daughter. It was about 60% black, 30% hispanic, 10% white and 'other'. Same was true of the place I worked just down the street from where I lived. Just about everyone I met and encountered at home and work were super nice and lovely. I befriended a lot of awesome and interesting people and never once had a issue with anyone. In fact the only time I ever encountered racism was when some older white guy who was also from upstate NY was chatting with me randomly made some "the only thing I don't like about it down here is how 'dark' it is, you know?" comment, like he thought just because I was white I was going to sympathize with him. So I'm not entirely sure what this guy's point is.
I lived in the Bronx, by Grand Concourse, a place where you'd see a lot of minorities and whites due to it being near Yankee Stadium. In the streets of Grand Concourse, by the apartments, there are minority block hangouts and parties. And white people do walk past these block hangouts. No matter what your race is, if you are RESPECTFUL and POLITE, you will not get treated the opposite. People will not even pay attention to you if you say nothing. If you say "What's up?" or "Good morning, afternoon, or evening" you will get it back most of the time. Goes for ALL races, not just whites. If you are white and disrespectful in a black neighborhood, you will cause unnecessary commotion. If you are black and disrespectful in the same color neighborhood, you will cause commotion. If you are hispanic and disrespectful in a black, white, or hispanic neighborhood, you will cause unnecessary commotion. Just be respectful.
I just know that black people are widespread racist against Asians. I have been taunted with various racial slurs or actions from random black people on the streets as an Asian. Not so much from other races.
@vidaa82 I can't say for sure because I never asked them but it feels more like they are making fun of Asians instead of hatred. People I personally know don't do that but it is always the random people I see on the streets. I lived most of my life in the U.S. (mostly in racially diverse cities) but about 80 to 90 percent of my racist encounters were from black people. Common behaviors are calling me chiXX, saying that I have a small private part, making their eyes small right in front of me (usually they come up to my face out of nowhere), saying ''go back to China''. On the side note, good for you for not seeing skin color and having mature friends. I know that all these racial struggles will get a lot better than today eventually. I just hope that day comes soon.
@vidaa82 yea I know that there are more people who don't act like that way since those encounters are not an every day occurrence. It just hurts my feelings especially when teens or young adults do it. That just means that their parents aren't doing much to educate them and the issue is passed on to the next generation. This is just not a racial issue I am worried about. A lot of people these days don't have the common decency or manners and it just shows in various ways, one of them being racially offensive. I guess it is somewhat of a human nature to pick on minorities such as homosexuals, mentally/physically challenged, people who are different from the majority, etc. But we as a community need to get passed that childish thoughts. I am sure you know what I am talking about but I am just fuming a bit on this comment. Thanks for reading.

Izzah Kam your claim comes way out of left field with the monstrously generalized claim that this one man’s reaction to a comment is the baseline for the millions upon million of immigrants.
It’s not really false equivalence. More of an extraordinarily hasty generalization
PythonTron Hmm I’m sure not all immigrants go through things like that, because it’s dependent on where you immigrated from and where you live now, but it can’t be denied that immigrants from non-white countries tend to face a harsher degree of racism than immigrants from white countries in the US at least. (The dame could go for white immigrants in predominantly non-white countries.)
So while I do think not all immigrants go through this I also have to point out that immigrants that are very obviously not white and live in a place with certain views go through a lot of this kinda stuff and thus he wasn’t fazed by that comment.
PythonTron Get off of your pedestal please and use your common sense. This is a video about racial discrimination a Mexican immigrant received, so when this comment used the term “immigrants”, u can most likely infer that they mean immigrants that are poc. You are so focused on something so irrelevant as whether or not they said “immigrants” or “some immigrants” that you are completely undermining the message of the comment. Many immigrants can share similar stories, not all, but many, but instead of acknowledging that, you chose to heckle someone over a “false equivalence”.

@@Pullitsurprize
_Lmao what?_
52 80 it seems like people have made this point already, but I guess I could add the answer here too:
Being treated badly isn’t a reason to leave a country.

"Try being white in a black neighborhood"
Well I can speak for that.

Every one of those things is true, yet I have been called a racist countless times. That’s the kind of person that gets called a racist these days ... Simply for disagreeing with things that are said by extremists, that are undeniably illogical and immoral and legitimately racist.

@Bruh Moment yeah it’s online school now so it’s pretty much stopped. Thanks for your concern friend!❤️
Bruh being white in a hispanic school I was constantly pointed out for being white...
@@ghalojeffery1541 oh no :( Were you bullied for it?

My heart goes out to him. What if he finds the live of his life and shes dark skin. Lord forbid her to be native, or aian or black decent
God help the babies in our this next upcoming generation that are young today.
If they make it that far.
If any of us make it that far.

Hand sanatizer. People are getting sick. So a few ywars ago, they went to several big cities, all waljs of life and took urin from very pregnate women. Then when tbe baby was born, they took cord blood and tested it all for sanatizer.
Virtually all the women had it in theirs and the babies, 50% had it in their blood.

PLEASE BE CAREFL OUT THERE.
I SWEAR this KAREN SYNDROM is caused by these meds their giving everyone instead of opiates.
I used em for 27 years. Lastvyear my clinic went to prison. 2,000+ people got deemed junkies. I went to their rehab meeting. It was for all patrons of painclinics.
Basiclly, unless you have cancer thers willl be no more opiates.
Theres procedures, AKA injections into nerves and PT, anti depressents, antipsychotics, diabetic nuropathy meds, cymbalta for real withdrawl, anti neasua, benadryl and NASIDS were what was discused.
Now, the BLACK BOX warnings on those perscriptions, were anger, homacide and suicide.
Kids learn it at home. His own son seems to have found a better way. If so, it must be lousy to have a father like that.

More like a white woman who wanted to make it about her
Thank you. It was scary afterwards. It opened our eyes to the fear and discrimination folks face every day. Everyone in that room should have told him to get out of there.

AyyCardinal it’s just a bit of a rude term for someone who is a proud United States citizen
