    Why don’t they do this: remake the b747 into a b747X equipped with an all new cabin with dimmable windows and 2 GE90-115B engines and a lighter design to reduce in fuel.

    they should have developed a VTOL Version which uses 4 engines on takeoff and landing and 2 engines on Cruise while 2 engines cooled off tuck out of the way much like landing gear !

    Like most business decisions, it comes down to cost, and that is probably why the 747 will not be making a comeback. With more efficient engines, the wing root would probably have to be redesigned, and that would most likely be prohibitive due to cost. It would probably be significantly cheaper just to design a new airplane. But they already have the 777X. Although they can't seem to get it certified, the plane does exist. I would love to see the jet go back into production. But as I said at the start, it comes down to money.

    making a new twin engine 747 would help boeing with its reputation back but of course i know it wont be easy but i would say its a step they need to take instead building a completely new plane take a world loved plane and give it the upgrades that airlines from passenger and freight need so they will make and save money

    • @FLIGAVIA
      @FLIGAVIA  Месяц назад

      It seems like it will be difficult because the 747 has been out of production for a long time. Restarting the production facility will take time.

      @@FLIGAVIA well nothing easy even though we have engines to power the 747 as a twin they will have to redesign the wings and structure around but when they built the prototype they thought it was impossible but look at her now

    I think Boeing should upgrade the engines on the 747-830 especially when airlines like Lufthansa is investing a lot of money 💰 to keeping them flying passengers and other airlines are doing the same thing so Boeing should upgrade the 747-830 and possibly the 747-430S

    For cargo 747-8F, then yes - very likely but for 747-8I fraid not. Spec wise, 777-9 will eventually 747-8I, not quite as big but will use way less fuel. Having said that 777Xs prototypes are having problems. I wonder what's going on with Boeing....

    I think Boeing should make a 747Neo. This would solve the fuel proplem...

    Well you dragged that out just to say there is *NOTHING* new to report about the Boeing 747 !
    In reality, even as a cargo carrier, it is faces the same challenges as the Pax variants, it burns more fuel than it's newer two engines replacements. Money saved on fuel is money saved, period, it doesn’t matter what is being carried.
    The only ace the B747F has is its nose loading ability & that is not fitted to every B747F.
    It's just this type of content that prevents people from subscribing ! It was a click bait title to a video of no real interest, why would we want to see more rubbish content ?

    a VTOL version could use a landing pad only 4 acres in size away from busy mega airports but still in the Metro area near Highway and Rail and even Water transport ! could even have dedicated Cargo center 4-acre pads for fedex dhl ups US Poast office and others even truck freight or shipping containers and special unmanned drones that could lift a container onto a container ship (operated by Longshoreman) or distribution intermodal hub or warehouse!

    One example of this is the Sydney-Johannesburg route. Previously, it was done with the Boeing 787-9. Now, they switch to the A380. If Qantas owned any B747-8s, it would easily be the plane of choice.
