    Dashing for 3 years now (7500 completed) and, from my experience, most Dasher can do, on average, 3 pickups per hour under general circumstances when things are moving (lunch/dinner rush). To average $35/hour under those conditions, you would have to be making almost $12 per pickup. That is not a common occurrence in most areas nowadays...maybe in high volume markets where orders get stacked or if there is a bonus situation going on...but that is sporadic rather than consistent.

      @markraymond7235 You are 1,000% correct. I am so tired of clickbaited titles that it is rediculous. Like come on now...let's get real. I understand that people need people to watch their videos, but they MOST IMPORTANTLY need to be honest. Even if you get $35.00 for 1 or 3 hours out of the whole day, that DOES NOT mean $35.00 an hour throughout your WHOLE shift. Thank you for saying that. Don't like when people are out here misleading the new people. It's straight dishonesty and a shame..

      You are correct! As a clarified in the video, some hours you make $40/hr and other hours you make less. I stated the realistic daily expectation is around $16-$20+/ hour! I never stated that a person will make $35/hr every day, rather on occasion you can earn this much and I made sure to clarify in the video that this depends on location and time of day. Never did I say this is what is made in the whole shift! Thank you for your comment and for also sharing the realistic expectation of being a doordasher, as many dashers can benefit from this feedback!

Yes the titles and thumbnails are meant to catch peoples attention but I do not lie, as I show screen shot proof where I've made over $35/hr at the beginning of the video. I stated throughout the video the realistic expectations a person should have when doordashing, as my intent is never to lie. I would be misleading people if i never clarified the truth or stated multiple times that in my area I make more money than other people and in other areas you do not make as much. It all varies (: Also thank you for your comment and concern!

    I have a pizza joint that I've made a good connection with the owner. Now when I walk in the door the employees instantly get my order ahead of others in line. Yeah, sometimes my acceptance rate dips to the 20s but I try to stay disciplined in what I will accept. When I was trying the 50% game all the BS low orders were the ones that usually gave me bad ratings too. F*** 'em. People that don't want to pay us properly for our time are simply not worth our attention at all.

    I would agree do not be afraid of highway miles. I'll add to that have knowledge of other Dash zones. If you take a long order and it's dropping you in a zone comparable to your primary zone don't be afraid to end your Dash and start a new one right where you land. Sometimes it's not busy enough to start a new Dash in a different zone, but that's where having Uber Eats comes in handy, because it doesn't have scheduling so you can go right on until you can get back on Doordash. Another reason to end your Dash after you've dropped off a long delivery is if your close to the end of your schedule and you've only got an hour or two left instead of wasting 20 minutes going all the way back. Just finish out the night where you land after drop off.

    • @williamhamiltonn
      @williamhamiltonn  11 месяцев назад +1

      Why would you end a dash with 2 hours left? That's another $50 for the day which is $15,000 a year. You don't seem to value your time very well

    • @Derby_City_Dasher
      @Derby_City_Dasher 10 месяцев назад

      @@yourfriendlyneighborhoodic128 Did you miss the part where I said you might do that if you only got an hour or 2 left if your out of zone 20 minutes away? You start a new Dash there, because it's unlikely your get another order that far out of zone. When I posted this the zone switching feature wasn't a thing yet and if your multi apping you got a source you can get orders from even if you get off Doordash and can't get back on.

    So I've been a Platinum driver for several months I started declining a lot more offers that were exactly a dollar a mile and my acceptance level went under 70% and I noticed a dramatic drop in my financial gains for the week so I don't know how you're pulling it off by having a 20% acceptance level and still making good money every week but I find it to be a straight-up lie, at least for my region. I'm in South Florida.

    • @williamhamiltonn
      @williamhamiltonn  10 месяцев назад +1

      Aye I totally understand! Having a lower acceptance rate in some regions, almost all regions, will lower your chances at high paying orders, BUT you can still get them in certain areas. I am located in central florida near ORLANDO.
      I explained in my video that every zone is different. Some days you'll earn $40/hr and other days you'll earn $12.
      I also provided ride along videos on my channel where I doordash with a 20% acceptance rate.
      In 2023, it is best to have over 50% to qualify for the priority access program, but there are still ways to get high paying orders with a low acceptance rate in 2023, if you follow specific steps, as I've explained in my other videos on my channel! I hope this is helpful!

    I have a 90% acceptance rate… and yea, I get high paying orders… but those high paying orders have even higher miles. I got one for $20 but it was 35 miles out of the way. Easy decline. I’m in NY and it was deep in Jersey

    • @williamhamiltonn
      @williamhamiltonn  10 месяцев назад

      You are absolutely correct! Many high orders come with high miles. Usually, these miles are highway miles, which is good, as you can travel much faster on the highway! But $20 for 35 miles is very bad, I would not accept that either, even if the travel is all high way miles lol

I did however receive an email to reset my AR back to 100% in a few weeks, which I am going to document as well to show the advantages of what having a high acceptance rate does for dasher in my location.

When we reject the offers sometimes long stretches of time pass before we receive another offer. Almost as if they are punishing us for not taking trash. The tips you provided are what I have already been implementing and they are good advise. I just wish the acceptance rating didn't matter as much in my market.

But I know dashers in orlando and Oviedo who are always getting hit with high paying orders, mainly bc dashers are limited out there.

    Yeah, this is 100% market dependent. You can’t make more than 20-25 an hour is slower/smaller
    Markets. You applying your scenario to every market doesn’t work and is misleading. Some markets are competitive and requires you to have higher acceptance rate just to make 20 an hour. Your sample size of testing the AR requirements for 1 week doesn’t give you enough information to support your statement.
    My market doesn’t do shit between 6-10am. It’s all lunch-dinner orders.

    • @williamhamiltonn
      @williamhamiltonn  Год назад

      I completely agree with what you are saying, that is why I included multiple times in the video that my tips are dependent on location and time of day.
      I do appreciate the feedback, I here you, and in my upcoming videos I will make sure to be more upfront and transparent about the realistic expectations of dashers in other locations as well, as my intent is not to paint a false reality of the reality of doordashing, rather document my experience, and hope that others in different locations can apply some of my principals. The unfortunate truth is that there are some dashers who make less than me in different areas, and I know other dashers who make way more than me in other parts of FL, and although I hope to cater to everyone's situation in my video, I can't provide a disclaimer after every tip, as this would make the video unnecessary long.
      in the video I upload this week where I doordash with a 20% AR I show the good, and the ugly. Some days I made up to $40 an hour and other days I made $10. I am not familiar with other states, just the areas I live in, hence my multiple disclaimers all throughout the video, explaining that these are BEST practices for me in my location, not the ULTIMATE OR GUARANTEED practices to get $35 an hour
