  • Hello to all of our ‪@vagabondlife2018‬ subscribers, and if you are new to this channel, please give it a like and subscribe.
Its time for another road trip and this time we head off on the scooters to Pai, which is a small town up in the mountains in Northern Thailand.
Pai is a small town close to the Myanmar border in Mae Hong Son Province, 136km (84.5 miles) northwest of Chiang Mai.
Pai was known for its laid back ‘hippie’ type culture and there are still many foreigners who go to Pai for meditation retreats and the chill vibe.
Pai has a walking street market through the main road in town which is blocked off to cars, however beware as there maybe still the odd scooter coming up behind you 😂🤣
The walking street market runs every night 7 days a week from around 5pm till late. There are plenty of options to choose from eating street food or if you prefer there are also a range of restaurants and bars if you prefer a sit down meal and listen to some music while you are having a drink.
These days Pai is a mecca for young people, it almost has that USA "spring break" feel. Many get out of the mini vans which have just delivered them to Pai and go straight across the road to hire a scooter, so they can venture out of the town to see the many attractions the province has to offer a holiday maker.

🤣😆😂 Shelly isn't a bad motorbike rider to be fair. I've been on the back with her a few times and I'm still alive 😆

Do you need a motorbike license in Thailand? Or is it best to do a scooter course on how to ride one before going over if you don't know how to ride? Asking for a friend, after your story of the young lady jumping on the scooter and crashing.

Thanks for your comment Sharri. Not sure how to answer this, I guess it depends on your country. You would need to check in your own country if you can get scooter lessons, but it would definitely pay to get lessons first before renting one in Thailand.
