Glad you finally made it to Pai & your parents got to see it too. I am the guy that thanked you for getting me through covid with your videos while being stuck in the USA for almost 3 years. I was on the motorcycle at the Mae Hia Market as you were just trying to leave. Thanks again & great video !
Once upon a time when my children were small (they are all adults now) they used to run free through pai. It was such a beautiful time in our lives. It's such a special place.
Personally I’ve never had a problem with dual pricing. I lived in York, North Yorkshire, and if you were a resident you could apply for a York card that got you into most museums free

Thank you for such awesome clip, so glad that you chose to stay at Utopai and hoping to host you all again. The creek area will only get better, we are working hard on it!
Your production skills are so enjoyable --- with your creative, skillfully-flow drone shots, cheerful commentary, and the greatest plus --- turning on your charming Mom and Dad!
This is an amazing 👏 part of Thailand 🇹🇭... The Smokin' Hot Springs are amazing 👏. The bamboo walk, amazing, too. That scenery in general is the best of all of Thailand 🇹🇭... This is an area I would believe in for investment, if foreigners were allowed to own land in Thailand 🇹🇭 ❗️
I was in Pai for the first time 1987. I loved it. Nearly no tourists.. Pure Thailand. The scenery is of course still wonderful, but otherwise it looks like every crowded tourist Hotspot in the world.
Chris, You have a knack, rare talent for this vlogging, narrating. What a beautiful country and setting for Utopai AIRBNB. I would agree with you Chris, about chilling by the creek absolutely serene and lush. Your Dad's dinner looked scrumptious and Haley's banana dessert looked devine. I can see where you got your coloful and friendly personality from. Your mom seems like a hoot. God bless and ty for sharing your family and travels.
Hi Chris. As I see you constantly improving, it inspires me. 6/2021 I started doing product presentation videos and although I don't have nearly your skills, seeing you getting better and better gives me hope that I too may become a great RUclipsr like you.
Pai is a beautiful place. Would love to visit there again as there is so much more to see that I missed the last time. It must be so good to enjoy these experiences with your lovely parents 👍
I was planning to visit Pai later this year, now I'll definitely check it out. p.s. I'm glad you came back to Thailand and raised your game on the video quality too, it's very much appreciated!
Pai is a lovely spot. Spent New Years about years ago there. Found a craft beer bar on the main street and drank there all day, then found a fantastic stall that sold proper ribs. All these places that you've shown are really cool and people should for sure visit them. Pro tip, DO NOT come from Mae Hong Song, as that windy road is beyond brutal.
Chris Duuuuuuude! I’m in Chiang Rai for the first time ever, sipping some Thai rice vodka and now you mention Pai!?! Who doesn’t love pie? I’m going to check how long it would take me to ride my motorcycle up there. Very cool video!
LOVE Pai! I’ll never forget visiting the waterfall by myself and a weathered looking Thai woman offered me men and ganja 😂 (I politely declined both) this was 2005. Pai is understated and one of the most beautiful places in Thailand
We were in Pai the same time you were. I thought I saw you racing through the walking street 55555. It happens to be one of our favorite places as well. Attendance there once per year is mandatory. Thanks for the videos. Keep up the good work
Easily the most genuine Thai content going around at the moment. So happy to watch all these videos and busy making notes on all the cute spots you have discovered.
Hi I’m from Thailand, live in USA.(ct) open Thai restaurant,Thank you for showing Thailand to around the world..🙏🇺🇸.I love all the video u show us ..👨🍳🙏Thank again
PAI has changed a lot. 20 years ago, it was more charming than now. If you have time, I recommend you to go down to Khun Yaum and Mae Saraing. They are still close to original and more charming.
been watching tons of video from pai..but this one..feels so special..i guest your ability to capture some beautiful moment with the scenery telling it all.. thanks a lot mr chris !
Great video on Pai. One of my favorite stays in Thailand. it's a beautiful place. The only drawback for me is the "spring break" atmosphere on walking street and the smell of ganja throughout the area. But, I'll definitely be back.
Mor Paeng waterfall used to be free-access, but was rarely busy when I used to go up there to do some photography. The first round of "improvements" when they started charging were not maintained and quickly fell apart.
You guys get it. I am all for dual pricing. I make 50 times more than an average Thai policeman or a Thai teacher per month. I always love to help out when I can. Never been to Pai but will definitely give it a visit next time I'm in Thailand~
Lived in Pai for 10 years until I had a motorcycle accident and was in hospital for 3 months, then moved to MaeSai with my wife. During my time there the Mo Paeng falls were free to enter as was the bamboo Bridge. The Sai Nam hot springs were THB 100 / 20 to enter but were natural springs, not levelled out and damned. In the 4 years I've been away so many costly 'tourist attractions' have been 'invented'
Definitely get up to Yufuin in Japan if you love hot springs. So many free natural springs everywhere. Just look for the steam rising from the ground. If you go to an establishment no duel pricing either.
I have to make it over there. I been wanting to camp with my Thai Family like I do with my American Family in the USA. It is so peaceful when your camping with people you love. Thanks for sharing.
My Pai Adventure#1: I rolled into Pai about 6/7 years ago in the front seat of a mini bus. I was wearing a money belt in which contained all my money and I.D., everything. It's uncomfortable for me to sit with the bag around my waist so I hooked it on the dash board in front of me. When I exited the vehicle I forgot it there. I ran around looking for the bus. I ran to the travel agent where we landed and told them I left my money belt on the bus. She made a few phone calls and said that the bus had left Pai. I was freaking out, I had no money, passport, nothing. Then 15 minutes later I saw the driver walking down the road holding up my money belt with a smile on his face. I ran up to him and gave him a big hug, I was too happy. I looked in the bag and everything was still there. I then tried to give him money but he refused. I forced it on him then he took it;;;big relief.. My Pai Adventure #2: I had rented a motor scooter a Yamaha 125, great little machine. It was the last hour I had it so I thought I would go for a ride to burn off the remaining fuel. I was going down the centre of the road trying to avoid people. Then I saw an old woman on a scooter pull out in front of me with a young child on the back. She was heading from the curb going across the street to the other side and didn't look. I let out a scream and dumped my bike just before we collided. Our wheels touched, they did a little circle then fell. I skidded my bare legs on the road. I then looked over at them, tried to stand up, my legs collapsed and I fell to the ground. There were some kind of medics standing at the side of the road, turns out I was smack dab in front of the Pai police station. The medics came over and asked if I wanted to go to the hospital, I replied no. Then they dressed my wounded knee. The police came out and there was talk of me speeding and I told them what happened. Then an old fella showed up and hit me in the back of my head in front of the police. The police asked me if I wanted to charge him, I said no, I just want to get out of here. Then a younger guy showed up giving me some really dirty looks, then we all went inside of the police station. Thank God it was on video, the whole bloody mess. We all watched as I clearly dumped my bike and they did a little circle and fell unhurt. I was so hurt I was having leg convulsions in the police station and had to stand and walk every few minutes, they all saw I was in great pain. Then they said I could go. When I returned the bike I had to pay a small fee (200baht) for a mirroir that had broke in the accident. Epilogue: Before I went to Pai I read an article about this Canadian guy who was killed by an off-duty police man. I am also a Canadian guy. It was never settled and was very sketchy. If you have an "accident" in Thailand the foreigner is ALWAYS at fault, even when you are not..I have had 2 "accidents" One time my car had broken down,I was on the verge, side of the road (dual carriageway 2 lanes. In each direction.Anyway this old duffer drove into the back of my disabled car, while some other Thai dude was in the engine compartment having a tinker.Anyway apparently that was my fault,I'd to pay for his ambulance and hospital. The other time this guy pulled out right in front of me on a motorcycle/saleng.Again I'd to pay for him,his motorbike, and his hospital fees in the private hospital of his choosing.
