Woods is a fantastic guest. 30 seconds in and you know you're dealing with an incredibly smart person. He's well-spoken and sharp as a new knife. Personable, funny and jumps right in. Conan's had some really good guests lately. John Mayer was another surprise. Well done.

I'm well aware of the immense talent that actors like Zach Woods, Thomas Middleditch, and Ben Schwartz possess. Understanding the complexity and skill involved in their performances, I'm all the more surprised by my own reaction. Given Zach's exceptional ability, my struggle to separate him from his role in 'The Office' speaks volumes. It's not often that I find myself so immersed in a character that I can't distinguish them from the actor. This shock, in a way, is a testament to Zach's profound talent and the unique impact of his portrayal. Knowing just how capable these actors are makes my experience with Zach's character all the more intriguing.
About 11 years ago I was at the Metropolitan Opera in NYC, and during the intermission people were hanging out in the lobby, and Woods was there. Some kid recognized him and said he was a huge fan and wanted to get a picture but his dad was outside so Zach was like “Ok” and obliged and went outside with the kid to take a picture with the Lincoln Center backdrop. I thought that was sweet.
Yes, yes, yes to Zach's observations on British people (as an American living in the UK)! While I've always been a big fan of Zach's work, I didn't realize how incredibly perceptive and whip-smart he is. Props to the podcast for making Zach comfortable and letting him be authentic. What a delightful and kind person.
It's so true. The Norwegians have a word for it (because of course they do it to), but basically the concept is "Never make anyone feel like you think you're better than them" - and the end result is a Brit will never talk about how much they earn, or where they went to university (if it's really good), or sometimes even specifically what their job is - just in case the other person thinks "You think you're better than me, pal?!"
It’s like when somebody says they want to go birding with you but really they just want to get you alone in the woods so they can take your binoculars.
8:48 anybody else noticed the amazing connection Conan and Sona have by this point?? like he literally didn't say ANYTHING about it and she already knows exactly what he means
A few of those NYC comedy freaks worked for me years ago. They would always call out from work because they got a gig on Conan. But I would watch Conan and they never appeared on the show. For a while I thought they were tricking me. But then I saw one. The Star Wars line episode. Those guys went on to have big Hollywood careers.
as soon as Conan started talking about needing talented actors to do bizarre things i immediately thought of Amy playing Andy's sister with those braces headgear.
Yeah I mean there have been zero in the last 15 years So you may want to phrase it differently Maybe Phil dunphy but he was funny Not outright hilarious Not to me anyways But if we start including animation Every single family guy/southpark character is funnier than any human person since Seinfeld/king of queens era comedy It’s sort of depressing but if I want a real (real) laugh I have to go to RUclips And I have to watch this podcast Specifically the “cursed puss/I smush you” episode where Conan says People used to say to me “hey your real funny, too bad ABOUT YOUR PUSS” Hardest I’ve laughed since I was 12 or 13 watching Kramer on Seinfeld Me and my friends used to rewind the vhs tape 20 or 30 times just laughing and going bonkers over specific scenes of Kramer Such good times Sadly those times are long gone and never coming back

Wowowowowo, I was just watching conan and Zach woods interviews, must've been a day before this came out and was like I wonder if he's come on the podcast and didn't see it and a couple days later its out lol
There have only been a few Late Night Hosts that are kings and greats of Late Night - In no particular order - Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Craig Ferguson and of course Everyone's Friend - Conan O'Brien.
Conan, in a move that’s peak Conan, buys a nose hair trimmer, ostensibly as a nod to personal grooming. Yet, there he is, boldly flaunting that unmistakable tuft of hair on his bottom lip, defying the very purpose of his purchase. And somewhere, in a meticulously organized, espresso-scented corner of the world, JorDAN-the paragon of grooming precision-must be shaking his head in disbelief. This isn’t just a missed spot; it’s a statement, as if Conan’s saying, ‘Who needs perfection when you’ve got charisma?’ It’s like Conan's challenging Jordan’s grooming ethos with a playful, ‘Catch me if you can.’ JorDAN! This isn’t just a call to action; it’s a shout across the grooming divide, highlighting the gap between Jordan’s meticulous care and Conan’s charismatic nonchalance. 😂
That's definitely upper middle class. Enough to be able to afford to raise six children but that itself probably leaves not much to have a "wealthy" lifestyle. Conan lived in the attic and he had to share it with his brothers.
I loved Silicon Valley too. Unfortunately a few of its main players (TJ Miller, Thomas Middleditch) have since been deservedly canceled for terrible behavior. Too bad, it sullies the reputation of a great show
