Chase gets ganked by a Moonveil and madness spamming 3 man who turn off the tongue and summon blues when one dies. Chase says "This is turning out to be a cool fight." He isn't human.
5:21 this madness bean save somehow reminded me of the craziest save I’ve ever seen on one of Chase’s DS3 invasions videos. A guy used Projected Heal and saved a phantom that was about to get killed on a rooftop in the frozen village of the first DLC. That squad had really good teamwork! Good times. I miss DS3
Hiccups occur when air is involuntarily sucked into the throat, the closing epiglottis makes a ‘hic’ sound, this can happen when u eat too much, get too excited or are under emotional stress, experiencing sudden temp changes, or even swallowing air including smoking
I'm surprised you didn't use the Clayman's Harpoon in this video! It's the perfect candidate since not only does it naturally scale with int, but it can also accept elemental buffs as well. Combined with Scholar's Armament, you have a spear that can do crazy amounts of magic damage even if the enemy uses magic defense items. Edit: it actually has some nice Flame Art scaling too tbh...
I was debating using it, i just am not a huge fan of single spears when fighting outnumbered and on the opposite end dual wield spears are too powerful lmao
Using Lusats staff to buff the buff is really smart. Since you won’t be using that extra FP for much anyways on a melee build. The only one left is BloodFlame blade now, since the fire damage scales with Fth.
while it is fun to see the listed AR jump up, weapon buffs don't exactly work like a direct increase to AR. basically, each time a buffed weapon deals damage, the buff also deals its own independent damage. so, stacking on the existing magic of clayman's harpoon does not help overcome flat defense the way an actual AR increase from a physick or exalted flesh would. buffs also ignore motion value, so multihit attacks like the godskin peeler and urumi are absolutely the best moves to make while using a buff build - each hit will deal that same 273 magic damage, as it would on a 2H colossal sword charged R2.
The skill on display within Ainsel River is top notch. Really is enjoyable watching someone perform at the best of their craft while presenting themselves like a professional. Really is a lovely and great watchable combination.
@graybust8556 then just use the electrify armament. It's cheaper, lasts longer, and doesn't give you a large debuff. Vykes dragonbolt is a meme of a spell, it's bad.
@leonardo9259 no it does not. Dragonbolt blessing does that (the yellow lightning body buff). Vykes dragonbolt gives you increased equipload. VD is a really, really bad spell for anything but fashion.
Jeez, 1000+ damage twinblade running attacks, 1200+ spinning slash, 1500 on the Swordspear true combo... I knew Scholar's was going to be brutal, but that's nuts. The Raptor Talons with Endure were definitely the king of trade potential though, jeez -- I want to say that guy at 8:15 had to have a Soreseal or something for how much damage got put out, and that guy had 50 vigor too. I was very happy with this video, and I was hoping to see this in action, great stuff Chase.
important i made the math: at 70 int and using the lusat staff you recieve 273 magic damage. at 70 fth and using the erdtree seal you recieve 234.75 lightning damage. so... keeping in mind the increase in fp cost from the lusat staff and that magic defence increases with your int while lightning defence does not increase with any stat, it safe to assume that electrify armament is under most circumstances the BEST weapon buff for pvp.
You also have to factor that casters will likely go 80 Faith so 265(13% increase basically), meaning the damage difference tips in favor of Faith significantly. This is also important for other spells like healing since Erdtree Heal goes from 1847 to 2083 which is 1314 and 1482 for teammates, with 60 Vig and CAM+2/Favor+2 you'll have 2134 so you go from 86.5% to yourself and 61.6% for teammates to 97.6% and 69.45% which is basically a full heal every time and not punishable consistently because teams, and at 23 mind(which is a breakpoint for Faith buffs anyways because 137) you can do this twice per flask. For example Prophet can do 60/23/8/11/10/7/80/10 at 130 even without stat talismans, 160 can run 40 Dex giving weapon variety and cast speed(70 is the cap and the talisman gives 30), and for the 200 range you have a few classes that can do 60/23/45/18/35/7/80/10 (the End is full bull-goat with bull-goat talisman, can probably run lower end with BGT for over 101 poise for the higher level builds but I don't feel like calcing that right now). And keep in mind this is without factoring hybrid casters where 45/45 Int/Faith is only about 5% lower AR on offensive spells while giving 11 spare points for more mind or going 50/50 in which case the damage loss is negligible: 60/23/35/18/40/50/50/7 for example is doable at 199 and gives the golden order seal 345 scaling and is only ~2.3% AR loss while giving you Int/Hybrid options. It's also worth pointing out that Bloodflame Blade effectively throws out all these numbers and says "here bleed for free" because 12/10 Faith/Arc is not a real stat requirement
If you ever want to try weapon buffs at lower levels than scholars armament with the Demi-human queen staff isn’t that bad. With 25 int it gives about 150 magic damage.
Ive been using scholar armament for a while actually, at RL 125. With 40 dex and 40 int with demi human queen staff, the dmg of most dex weapons is around the 600 mark, and you have max casting speed with just radagon icon and decent dmg with your spells. Its an excellent spellblade build.
Glad u made this video bcuz i tested all of the weapon buffs out on bloodhound's fang one day and scholars armament IS in fact the strongest weapon buff for whatever reason
Hi Chase! Since lately you got keen on buff builds... You can reach high damage numbers on SL 150-160 too. Using fire/flame weapon + flame grant me strength + fire physic flask + some aura buff (aromatic e.g.) you can get 1200-1300 dmg easily. 8:54 I had to laugh at “honourable” bc you enter the world as an invader to kill them. How is it dishonourable for them to fight together against an invader? Most invaders have superior skills to phantoms and especially hosts. If they were skilled to begin with they wouldn’t need to summon for help. If im an invader I expect nothing less than the phantoms and host to do everything they can to stop me. If I’m a phantom I fight to protect the host at all cost. If I’m the host, win or die, I fight to defend myself and my summons from being killed by the invader. I didn’t realise that was considered dishonourable.
Turning the taunters tongue off as soon as someone joins is cowardly af. And it always a group of 3 that do it. I bet they couldn’t even beat Margit solo.
Hi would this work on a faith build when using POD or SoG staff? Im not sure how they work. Like would Scholars then be boosted by my Faith instead? (Hope that made sense)
Late reply but Staff and seals that use both Int and Fth are terrible for weapon buffs, because Scholars only uses your Int scaling (so only half of your Staff of death scaling). Same with Electrify Armament and the Golden Order Seal, only Faith, no Magic scaling.

Can you do that or electric on the club with barbaric? That sounds like guaranteed one shot.
Do you ever lose though?
Accidents almost certainly happen, but if the invade isn't entertaining, why put it in the video ?
Hi Chase, what is the point of swapping the body armor onto flower one? Does it have some stat boosting effect?
It makes his health flasks heal for more at the cost of taking extra fire damage
@@gbossman2 Ayy, nice. Cheers.
@@JadenasThe talisman does too
As the strongest curse, chasethegoat, approached the fraud king of xbox players, he began to open his domain, shutken shrunk back in fear and chase goat said "stand proud shutken, you were strong"
9:16 no way you lived I cal that cheat my son!
Is level 200 pvp now a thing?
I'm a month late to this but... yeah, kinda. 200 is a fairly popular invasion/gank level. 125-150 are still the dueling levels, but some streamers and PvP players of note seemed to have made a concerted effort to encourage this RL 200 sub-meta.
At around 6:13 Chase hears the frenzy incant going off and perfect dodges it. I thought hacks for sure at first because how?
Bloodflame next plz
I hope there is a madness armament in the dlc and a madness infusion that doesn't inflict madness but bypasses fire resistant. I would also love to see dark damage return.
12:13 POG
Now that chase doing buff builds watch them slowly creep into pvp
Could you do a level 200 quality build that uses electrify armament?
Bro how do you dodge the madness snipe so well I'm not even joking
Near release both that and moonveil where in literally every invasion. I had to learn to dodge it from sound since its always off my screen 🤣
Like a hot knife in butter. Those were nice clean kills. It's 🤯
I wonder how buffs are doing on meta with paired weapons like claws and fists
