Man, I'm 57, never served, and you're an inspiration. I'm not a sniper, I tend to push objectives in Battlefield and have a terrible k/d as a result, but to see you out here deleting people in the game at 600+m like it's no big thing is awesome. And thank you so much for your service.

I think pushing into objectives is equally vital. Sure the odds of death is far higher. But clearing, securing and more importantly defending it after requires people in the area.
I personally love CQC and usually run light agile weapons that can root the enemy team out of buildings. Ticket-wise it is intensive on the team if I don't kill at least 2-3 people off the area.
Snipers like him is a god send for the rest of the team as they can tell everyone else where enemies might be and counter the enemy snipers as well.
If this was battlefield 4 I'd just rely on a GROZA 4 to clear everything out.
Youre doing good. This grandpa guy is just all talks. No real life sniping tactics apply to bf, and the way hes sniping is only for clips ans selfish gains, while still only having a 1.55 kd, his kd against bots is a 2.5, which is maybe even more embarrassing.

just remember its PTFO, not camp 1000M from the objective and not help your team out with a spawn location or even capturing objectives. The way he plays the game is NOT the way to play a Battlefield game.
@@Oragami1337 you obviously don’t understand the recon class and how to play it. He plays it 100% correctly. He’s preventing a lot of other snipers from getting their shots off on teammates, as well as given locations of the enemy when possible. Way more important than running in with a pistol and a sniper rifle.a lot of people play battlefield and the different classes wrong. I’m guessing you may be one of them.
He's providing a valuable service to his team by preventing SIDS - Sudden Infantry Death Syndrome. It's the leading cause of death for guys whose attention can't be focused 1000m downrange 100% of the time.

It used to be even harder in older battlefield titles like 3 and 4 where the projectile speed of every gun was so slow you'd think you're shooting sub-sonic ammo.
From bf1 onward sniping's been a lot easier

He looks really familiar. I served in The Navy for 21 years and did a lot of time on Amphibious ships. Supporting SEALs EOD, Divers mostly east coast, Central America, Caribbean, Mediterranean and the Levant. Plus a little bit on an Oiler in the india ocean for two deployments q

Honestly, the story of how you broke your neck is just terrifying to me, not to say your other story of battles arent scary, but that seemingly benign situation just, i have had nightmares like that, one of the few things i am truely afraid of is being pinned without the ability to call out for help

Battlefield has always been a bunch of fun sniping. BFBC2 made me fall in love with the series. Still play a bunch of 2042 - it was a rough start for the game but they really did lot of improvements and still one of my favorites and most played.
Nothing more dangerous than a veteran with nostalgia instead of PTSD… ❤️❤️ keep it up pops

Have you checked out BattleBits Remastered? Its a very nice version of battlefield with full servers... I dont know if you will like the low polygon style of the game though 😅the cool thing is also it has proximity voice chat so you can talk to ppl nearby. A realy good game.
