Thanks for sharing! A detail honest presentation of the beauty of Singapore! Highly recommended to those who going to visit Singapore for the first time. Appreciated!
Watching your video brings back so much memories that we had with our children when they were young, we visited many parks regularly ~ Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Singapore Botanic Garden, Jurong Bird Park (they have moved to Mandai so they are together with the other 3 parks now), the domes as well as the Sentosa Musical fountain which has been replaced by the hotels and Universal Studios. The Botanic Gardens and Sentosa Musical Fountain are our regular haunts as they are nearest to our home and free. We called the drink hundred plus here without the one just like Singlish, it is faster. It is an isotonic drink for replenishing electrolyte if u perspire a lot. You have to try the durian, not durian ice cream, 😂many people love it, my husband has a Japanese colleague who had to have durian every month because his family is hooked but there are also foreigners who hated it too. Thank you for presenting Singapore so uniquely from your perspective with some places not frequently visited by other tourists with lots of walking and sweat. Hope to have u back soon for the new Birds of Paradise, you may also like the Japanese and Chinese Gardens, Treetop Hiking trails, Sungei Buloh Park, Henderson Bridge, mostly free except u will need to pay for a lot of sunscreens and isotonic drinks. 😉
Thank you!! We actually returned to Singapore after making this video, because we had so many great recommendations on things to do! We visit the new SG bird park, the nature serve, outer islands, and more! Our next video may or may not include our first actual durian tasting (table neighbors gave it to us). Singapore is amazing! 😊
@@jamesharris5174 You must visit again! When you get to know some locals - most of them are really friendly and warm in their reception of visitors - they will be at pains to show you more (hidden?) layers of Singapore… 🙂
Great video! There is a nice garden right next to where you were standing at 28:17. It's part of the gardens and has a special area for cactus etc. It's pretty big and a very nice walk. All for free.
Am leaving for Singapore tomorrow. This video has been on my ‘watch later’ list for a long time due to the 1h40m play time. I always thought I better watch a marvel movie instead of watching your video…..until RUclips played it randomly yesterday and I went along with it while cooking dinner!! This was the most informative video I have ever seen for Singapore. Having watched it I am kind off pissed at it for robbing me off the surprise factor beginning tomorrow but it also has prepared me well and helped me firm up my travel plans!
It was the mystery of RUclips magic that played it! 😂😂 This was the best comment - thank you for making us laugh. Enjoy your trip to Singapore. May many surprises await you!! 😉😉
Greetings from down under. Just love you guys, I came across your vlog today and now subscribed so I’ll go and watch more of your adventures. We were last in Singapore in Mar 17 and now plan on going back this year. You went to a few places we didn’t get to so we’ll be going there. Stephen
I really enjoyed this- thank you for all the effort you've put into the producing it! Two things to add: (a) the Jurong Birdpark is now permanently closed as they are relocating it to the Mandai zoo area. (b) one of the funnest things to do at Marina Bay is to get there in the evening and rent a bicycle to explore the entire area. They will give you a bike lock so you can stop wherever you want to. Thanks once again and I'm looking forward to more of your travel videos!
Oh, thanks for letting us know the Bird park has officially closed! I wonder how long it will take for them to move all the birds. 😳 Well look into renting bikes next time - that sounds like fun!
Fantastic!! We are hoping / planning to return this summer and spend another week there doing the things we didn't have time to do on the first trip. You've been warned. 😉😉😉
First time visitors to Singapore hawker centres will be wise to make use of the hotels' napkins/tissue when leaving for your food adventure, as no free tissues will be available unless you buy them from the drinks vendors.

Thank you!! A few other people have said that's possibly what I'm smelling too! Do you know - is it a seasonal scent? Can I smell it year round, or only certain times? Thank you!!
I just returned from Singapore/Malaysia, and it was amazing. I stayed in the Riverside area and walked everywhere and saw pretty much everything you guys visited. Oh, by the way the satay stickers are skewers. Great video from a single Aussie traveller. The colours of Singapore were fantastic, even Malaysia was similar.
Absolutely fascinating. Native Californian here. Been visiting Singapore from childhood to adulthood, to see relatives and eat/shop. But, you showed me things even I was not aware of! My BF is also Wisconsin-Minnesotan, and one day I’d like to take him to S’pore. I’ve traveled to all seven continents (penguins are just as curious of humans as we are of them), but I can’t video blog worth a satay skewer. 😢

Two comments. First, great to see how much Haw Par Village has improved. When we went 6 years ago, it had fallen into pretty serious disrepair.
Second, for those into hiking, Singapore has some great areas. Bukit Timah is a tough climb. MacRitchie Reservoir is a nice long hike. Henderson Wave and the Southern Ridges also provide a good walk in combination with great architecture.
We really wanted to do some hiking but ran out of time. It's definitely on our list for the next time we visit!
thanks for the info, very good content, friend, greetings, greetings of success always
Thank you! 😊 😊
@1:12:26 the nutty smell comes from pandan leaves. theres a few of them when you mention the smell on the right side of your screens. long green leaves. we use it to make desserts too.
Thank you!! A few other people have said that's possibly what I'm smelling too! Do you know - is it a seasonal scent? Can I smell it year round, or only certain times? Thank you!!
you can smell it all year round and its not seasonal. its used to keep the cockroaches away too.
love your video btw ❤
Anything that helps with cockroaches AND smells that good is a win in my book. Thanks!!
@@TalesFromOurPocket Pandan leaves also known as Screwpine leaves.

The satays that you had in Lau Pa Sat in Satay Street, the sticks are actually from the coconut leaves, the center part of it.
What?!? That's amazing. Thanks!!
So nice I love 💕
Thanks 🤗
Great video! I want to go!
We haven't been to Malaysia yet but it's high on the list! We're glad you enjoyed both places. 😊

Awesome video. Do you have a suggestion on we’re to stay in Singapore for 3 to 4 days. For accommodations?
We stayed near Clarke Quay and really enjoyed that area. 😊
I'm so glad we were able to share things you hadn't seen before! I guess it's time for a return visit with your BF! 😉😉 (Also, hello to BF from a fellow Minnesconsin-ite! 😁)
I reallly like you guys. Nice content.
22:05 India there is something called Ayurveda. They have gardens similar to this. Thanks for the Wonderful video.

Way to go. I was in Singapore back in 2019 (before nonsense happened) and it was a splendid two day and one night stay. Walked from my hotel to Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay. Took tons of pics. People, culture, food was all I expected. It was an awesome experience.
Time to go back! 😉

I liked your video and watched from start to end ! Nice angles and bird eye views of beautiful parks and buildings. Well done ! I particularly loved the music during the floral fantasy slot, what is the name of that piece of music ? It makes the whole thing so magical !
