  • A very cool story about how Steve Young helped Karl Anderson and the Mayor of Kirtland, Ohio get the votes needed to have the main road of Kirtland moved, so Historic Kirtland could be preserved.
This video was recorded in June 2015 when we were on a youth conference trip with the Seneca Maryland Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints visiting Kirtland and we happened to bump into Steve Young, who then asked us if we had heard the story of the getting the main road of Kirtland moved.

Actually, I saw this this morning, I remember meeting Steve Young that day when he came to Kirtland that he is talking about. I brought a group of youth up to an activity. I heard that he was going to speak at the Run. He spoke to all of us too! Awesome! I am glad I got to see this today! Kirtland is a very special place to visit and learn the history and Karl Anderson is a great man and historian writer .....and loves Kirtland..

I was there in the 80"s then came back in 2007 and I couldn't believe the difference. I had no idea Steve Young had a hand in that. I lived in his home ward in Connecticut in the 80's and my parents were on their mission there in Kirtland. I stopped by and stayed there for a few days on my way out to Connecticut. Small world.

We went on a tour with Mormon Heritage Association fall of 2016 and Karl Anderson was the guide. Amazing experience. Bro Anderson (The guy in the white shirt in the video) is truly a great man. Sometimes I pull up this video just to hear him laugh.

The heavens today are sealed from the LDS prophets as they no longer receive revelation nor translate ancient scriptures. It is human and not divine what is coming out of SLC and is nothing like the days of Joseph Jr.

Does he wear T-shirts while playing on Sundays? Shouldn't he always be wearing his garments?

There’s a time in my life when I might have been very interested in what Steve You g has to say. But that ship has sailed. I suspect he’s a genuinely nice guy, and I do like his wife and her open views. But truth told: I just don’t care about these people, their charmed lives, nor how their Church worships them.

Nobody worships Steve Young, but he is a great ambassador of the truth of the Restoration. I admire him, not only for his football legacy but because of who he is and the good he does. The world needs more Steve Youngs, regardless of their church or lack of a church. As far as not caring "about these people", that's okay. We still care about you and ALL of God's children.
