- The Ethiopian government is now recognizing Rastafarians as nationals by issuing them with ID cards. There are close to 1-thousand Rastafarians living in Addis Ababa and Shashamane -- land granted to them by Ethiopia's ruler Haile Sellassie in 1940s. Coletta Wanjohi has more.

@Peace 1...for what? Firstly Africa is their continent too. They were kidnapped from the continent. Which means they still belong in Africa. It's not the same with Europeans who left Europe voluntarily. Blacks were sold by our ancestors in some cases, and also kidnapped by European slave dealers. Why shouldn't we open doors for them to come back to their motherland? Secondly, blacks in diaspora such as African Americans have not only enough wealth to boost the African economy tremendously , but have high -end skills that would benefit the continent immensely. So Africa stands to gain and has nothing to lose by facilitating our diaspora brothers and sisters return back to the continent. Of course not everyone will want to come back, and that's okay. But the ones who want to relocate back to Africa should not find it impossible to do so. That's just not right. What about you, are you Ethiopian?
