As North Korea marked the second anniversary of the death of Kim Jong-il, Choe Ryong-hae, who is director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, was in the spotlight as the new second-in-command, sitting right next to leader Kim Jong-un.
Among those who stood out were the members of the state security department, who are believed to have orchestrated the execution of Kim Jong-un's uncle, Jang Song-thaek.
Many of Jang's associates turned up as well, indicating that a further sweeping purge has not yet taken place despite widespread speculation.
Our correspondent Kim Dae-young will give you a glimpse at North Korea's new power structure.
    Report
On the leadership podium at the ceremony, on the left of Kim Jong-un are Supreme People's Assembly president Kim Yong-nam, who is North Korea's nominal head of state, and Prime Minister Pak Pong-ju.
On his right, you see Choe Ryong-hae, director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army; Ri Yong-gil, chief of the military's general staff; and Jang Jong-nam, minister of the People's Armed Forces.
Compared with last year, the total number of officials sitting on the first row is down by three to 30.
Missing on Kim Jong-un's right are Jang Song-thaek, former military General Staff Chief Hyon Yong-chol, former People's Armed Forces Minister Kim Kyok-sik, former People's Security Minister Ri Myong-su, and former General Political Bureau Director Kim Jong-kak.
On the left side, the delegation excluded Kim Kyong-hui, Kim Jong-un's aunt; Kim Kuk-thae, late chairman of the ruling Workers' Party's control commission; and Pak Ku-ho, vice chairman of the General Association of (North) Korean Residents in Japan.
New faces, in contrast, are Pak Pong-ju, Ri Yong-gil, Jang Jong-nam, and Hwang Sun Hui, who is a member of the party's central committee and director of the Museum of the Korean Revolution.
The Ministry of State Security, which is believed to have led the execution of Jang Song-thaek, has apparently made a remarkable stride.
Minister Kim Won-hong was eight seats away from Kim Jong-un, up two notches from last year, while Director Kim Chang-sop made his first advance to the first row.
Meanwhile, some of Jang Song-thaek's associates, such as Deputy Prime Minister Ro Du-chol, People's Security Minister Choe Pu-il and party secretary for Pyongyang City Mun Kyong-dok, were also seated on the first row, suggesting that their influence remain unscathed.
Here is the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, where the embalmed body of Kim Jong-il is located.
Kim Jong-un paid his respects to his father today, along with his wife, Ri Sol-ju, and other key officials.
Here you can see almost the same people that you saw at the ceremony earlier. Supreme People's Assembly president Kim Yong-nam and Prime Minister Pak Pong-ju are standing on Kim Jong-un's left, and on his right are military General Staff Chief Ri Yong-gil and People's Armed Forces Minister Jang Jong-nam.
While visiting the mausoleum, Kim Jong-un probably made a fresh resolution ahead of the third year of his reign.
