Will Mahon to be honest it really depends on your itinerary as in a lot of spots (like Byron for example) there’s no feee camping near town so you’d have to pay for a campsite. Also in peak season campervans can be pretty pricey too. If you’re heading there for a long time buying one can work out cheaper though! It’s an epic way to explore Oz, but defo weigh up the prices

Hi! My boyfriend and I are thinking about travelling from october to february (5 months), if everything goes well with the pandemic ofcourse (i'm very optimistic haha)... We're thinking about travelling Australia for 6 weeks during our 5 months of travel. From Melbourne to Cairns or the other way around, but we would rent a campervan instead of renting hostels. Is that a more expensive option? What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!
Yeeewwww stoked to hear about your travel plans Joyce! 6 weeks is an ideal amount for that route up the East Coast - so good start! So campervans are an epic way to explore Australia, however in key destinations (such as Sydney, Byron, Whitsundays etc) there arent any real free camping options - so on top of your van hire you'll need to budget in for campsites, which are around $20-30 per night, so it does work out about the same, if not slightly more pricey. However, if your budget can accomodate it, it's heaps of fun! What I would also say is make sure you know your travel distances first as well - because Australia is BIG!haha! If you need some help sorting a van or making an itinerary hit me up at RTWBackpackers.com and I can get you some deals! 😊
Interesting questions Lucia! To be honest that’s really going to come down to budget abs also how confident you are with vetting the mechanics of a van! I did that my first time around and loved it - however buying and selling can take time. Also keep in mind that key destinations (like Byron Bay, Airlie Beach, Sydney etc) don’t have free camping options so you’d still need to pay for campsites and also fuel too
Hey mate, im planning on going for a holiday back to Australia sometime in the near future, not full on travelling tho. I grew up few hours south of Perth, then moved to England with my family when I was 10 and haven't been back since - 8 years now since I've been home! Just starting to research costs, but how much you reckon a month of just holidaying around the south of W.A would cost, with a possible trip up to Darwin to see a mate if he isn't in w.a then? Cheers man
Hey Max - stoked to hear you're heading back to WA! To be honest I think the main cost if you're travelling around that area is going to be transport, so whether you decide to go campervan or car hire is going to determine a big chunk of that - and of course fuel as WA is HUGE! In regards to Darwin I'd say it'll probably work out cheaper to fly to Darwin from either Perth, or even Broome if you roadtrip up that far, so check out the likes of Jetstar and Qantas to price up that route. Sorry I can't be more specific on that side of things, but check out RTW Backpackers for camper hire if you want a quote ☺️

Just in the beginning stages of planning a vacation to Australia. There is SOOO much to see & I don't know where to begin. Unfortunately we will only be there for 2 weeks or so. If you want to see some of the popular sights but also love nature, what would be your expert opinion of where to go & what to see? Is there a particular time of the year you'd recommend to visit?
Hey hey Kimberly, stoked to hear you’re heading to Oz soon! Ok so you’ll need to be pretty organised if you want to pack as much as you can into 2 weeks. I put together this 2 week itinerary for RTW which ticks all the main boxes and is definitely worth checking out; www.rtwbackpackers.com/tours/australia-2-week-itinerary-east-coast-package-deal/ In terms of time of year I’d say Nov or March - not full peak season (so everything isn’t super busy) but still incredible weather ☺️
I’m planning to do solo travel to Australia, I know with COVID everything is crazy right now, what part of Australia would you recommend that I visit, I would like to do some touristy things but also want to hang where the locals would away from the tourist areas. I’m planning a 2-3 week trip, where should I go?
Hey guys - stoked to hear you're going solo in Oz! Hmmm tough call on that mix in a 2-3 week trip as everything is so spread out! The East Coast has the most amount to see and do in terms of trips and tours, but WA is incredible too. I'd suggest maybe 2 weeks on the East Coast (it'll be fast paced but you can fit most stuff in) and then fly over to WA a do a week long tour over there. That way you get the best of both worlds! Check out my 4 week Oz Itinerary for a sample of what the EC has to offer; ruclips.net/video/hI35EDZqJjw/видео.html Let me know if you have any other questions or want some more help piecing everything together!

I've actually put together a 2022 update on this link: ruclips.net/video/ncKCpSPVvAI/видео.html To be honest it's still pretty similar, however at the moment the main difference is the trips currently running and the frequency of the tours. But overal price wise it hasn't got heaps pricier
Im going in October mate but im a health freak lol i dont drink or eat meat eithier do you think it will be a lot cheaper i will be going over with 12,000 dollars plus ill be on a working visa
If you're not drinking and eating veggie you should be pretty set with 12k in the bank. And of course you'll be topping it up with work along the way I presume? My best advice on that would be to make the most of the earning potential of your work visa and not simply travel for 12 months because you have the savings to do that. You can always hop out to NZ or Bali at the end of the 12 months and come back on a tourist visa to do the main travelling at the end with all your Aussie savings plus whatevers left of your original savings too! Does that make sense?
Greetings from Sweden, i travel to East Australia in end of Januari on the budget ( 3500 US dollar ) for around 1 month, what i wonder most is when it comes to my trip on plane from Gold Coast to Byron bay including Byron Bay - Sydney by airplane is it worth to just go direct to the Ballina airport and check the first flight to SYD or should i book it by internet? o.0
Hey Lauren! So I'd say your base price per month would be $1650AUD which is roughly what you'll need for 30 nights accom (at $35 per night) and $20 per day food budget. You can then spread the cost of your bigger tours across the full time period too - so its really going to come down to the activities/tours you want to include as well! Check out the link in the video description for the budget breakdown I put together which includes a whole array of day trips and tours and you should be able to calculate your person trip budget no worries :)
I am planning on buying a van with a buddy and driving Australia! We know it'll take a while but we have enough time and money. We feel we will save mega on transport and accommodation. Do you think this is a good idea?
Will yewwww stoked to hear you’re heading the van life way dude! Great fun! It will definitely give you heaps more flexibility - but just be aware in some locations (like Sydney, Byron Bay etc) you may still have to pay for campsites due to restrictions on free parking and Campervans, so it might not save quite as much as you think. Also do your research into the best van options and remember the cheapest van might not be the best!
Yewwww it’s an epic spot for a road trip! Be aware in a lot of key spots (like Byron, Airlie, Sydney etc) there’s not any free camping spots so you’ll also need to budget for campsites as well. Overall van life probably works out around the same in terms of cost (excluding buying/selling) but is heaps of fun for sure!
hey Stuart - if you're heading out on a WHV then yes I'd say that's a good amount to kick things off with. Personally I'd recommend a couple weeks of exploring then get into topping up those funds and finding some work
@@StokedForTravel I am hoping to go over with my girlfriend on a WHV when it all opens up again. Will have about £5,000 (GBP) possibly even more each which is about $9,000 AUD each. Plan to do a little exploring at first to find our feet and get used to the place. Then do some work, more travel, more work etc. Want to do more than the 88 days required to get our second year visa so we can save up as much as possible and do a good amount of activities and travelling when we are not working - using mainly the money we earn and not our own savings. Hoping for the trip to be mainly self funding after the initial arrival and doing what we wish to do to begin with

If you want to see some of the popular sights but also love nature, what would be your expert opinion of where to go & what to see? Is there a particular time of the year you'd recommend to visit?
Hey hey Kimberly, stoked to hear you’re heading to Oz soon!
Ok so you’ll need to be pretty organised if you want to pack as much as you can into 2 weeks. I put together this 2 week itinerary for RTW which ticks all the main boxes and is definitely worth checking out;
www.rtwbackpackers.com/tours/australia-2-week-itinerary-east-coast-package-deal/
In terms of time of year I’d say Nov or March - not full peak season (so everything isn’t super busy) but still incredible weather ☺️
So you would recommend the east coast over the west?
@@2011mysoldier ooooo that's a tough one! However if you're only coming for 2 weeks I'd say the East Coast would be the better side to explore :)
I’m planning to do solo travel to Australia, I know with COVID everything is crazy right now, what part of Australia would you recommend that I visit, I would like to do some touristy things but also want to hang where the locals would away from the tourist areas. I’m planning a 2-3 week trip, where should I go?
Hey guys - stoked to hear you're going solo in Oz! Hmmm tough call on that mix in a 2-3 week trip as everything is so spread out! The East Coast has the most amount to see and do in terms of trips and tours, but WA is incredible too. I'd suggest maybe 2 weeks on the East Coast (it'll be fast paced but you can fit most stuff in) and then fly over to WA a do a week long tour over there. That way you get the best of both worlds! Check out my 4 week Oz Itinerary for a sample of what the EC has to offer;

Let me know if you have any other questions or want some more help piecing everything together!
Wow, thank you Stoked for the advice, I will look into WA. You’re awesome 😎!

How would you say the cost of things in Australia are now, in 2022, post COVID?
I've actually put together a 2022 update on this link:
ruclips.net/video/ncKCpSPVvAI/видео.html
To be honest it's still pretty similar, however at the moment the main difference is the trips currently running and the frequency of the tours. But overal price wise it hasn't got heaps pricier
thank you! helps a lot
13Tiempos no worries - Stoked it helped you out!
Greetings from Sweden, i travel to East Australia in end of Januari on the budget ( 3500 US dollar ) for around 1 month, what i wonder most is when it comes to my trip on plane from Gold Coast to Byron bay including Byron Bay - Sydney by airplane is it worth to just go direct to the Ballina airport and check the first flight to SYD or should i book it by internet? o.0
yeewwww hope you're stoked for Australia Anibal! I would definitely pre book that flight online as you'll get the best deal. Check out Jetstar :)
@@StokedForTravel thanks fot the info Maan, i check the jetstar :)
Travelling Australia for say 5 months how much would you take with you?🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♀️
Thank you 🙏 bravo 👏
No worries, glad you enjoyed it!
@@StokedForTravel yes mate!!!! We're heading out in February so hopefully we'll be able to get in the country after all this Corona stuff!
@@Will-wi9uf happy days! If you need help with your tours let me know and I'll sort you out some deals 🤙
Thank you for including £!
No worries Keelan! Let me know if you need any help planning your trip ☺️
AMAZING VIDEOOOOO
Thanks heaps ☺️
Nice
Thanks heaps 😊
I’m thinking of doing a working holiday visa in Australia next year, would $6000 aud be enough money to take with me?
hey Stuart - if you're heading out on a WHV then yes I'd say that's a good amount to kick things off with.
Hoping for the trip to be mainly self funding after the initial arrival and doing what we wish to do to begin with
@@lewisjones4627 sounds like you've done your homework and have a solid plan Lewis! Fingers crossed the borders open up for you soon! Hit me up if you want any discounts on your tours too!
Am planning to travel to Australia how much would it course me
It would really come down to how long you’re there for, you’re level of accommodation and of course the tours your wanted to include. Check out my full cost breakdown which should help you get an estimate;

This is not budget
Indeed you can certainly travel around Australia cheaper - but this is what you'd need to budget if you were looking to tick off all the bucket list items
