Surprised to see some mentioning the new Alcest album, for me it only gets better with each listen! Oh and the people who are saying Opeth are trolling, surely...
New Alcest might be my favorite of any of them. Soo good. Even Les Voyages de L'âme had one or two skippers after a while and Ecailles de Lune doesn't quite have the same atmosphere even though it's a 10/10 album
The only one that really jumps to my mind is Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Just absolutely not for me. I know they have an audience but I really struggled through it
I think Swallow the Sun should have been an EP rather than a full album. I can forgive the style as a side bit or bonus tracks, but a whole album was a bit of a strange choice.

I think the album I was most dissappointed by was Monolithe's "Black Hole District". Only came across this band in the last couple of years really, but really loved their previous album "Kosmodrom". But I've just not been able to get into "Black Hole District", and I'm unsure why. It just isn't clicking for me. Unlike Questy, I really like the latter day Darkthrone albums (and controversially my favourite era of theirs is actually their more crust sounding stuff), but aside from a couple of tracks "It Beckons Us All......" just wasn't as good as the last two albums. I was also a bit underwhelmed by Wraith's "Fueled By Fear". It's fine but in a year where we have amazing blackened thrash records from Midnight, Vicious Blade and Inverted Cross, "Fueled by Fear" just doesn't do enough to be interesting.
Rotting Christ and as much as it pains me to say it, God Dethroned, let me down BIG time. I was so excited only to end up with two steaming piles of sh*t lol.
Forgot to comment on that one. But I couldn´t listen to Wintersun´s new album "Time 2" because of the drum production, it´s just terrible, the snare sounds like the kick drums. The music is okay, but the production on the drums ruined it for me.

Same. Chant Aurore is in my top 3 now
I haven't listened to New Alcest album.

Seeing you respond to my comment had me laughing. Wasn’t expecting it.
Dark Tranquillity's album was one of my favourites this year! "Not Nothing" is one of the best songs they've ever released imo.
Agreed!
The best metal album of 2024 in my opinion
Blood Incantation, Opeth and Officium Triste are three of my absolute favorites this year along with Ulcerate and Neon Nightmare!
The only one that really jumps to my mind is Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Just absolutely not for me. I know they have an audience but I really struggled through it

My most hated album of 2024: Questy's Bachelor Party Soundtrack. Those bishes moaning is too dirty for me 😂

My Burzum Boy do you like Wolfheart? In This Moment? Dark Tranquillity? Within Temptation ? ?
I am really dissapointed about the Amaranthe album. From Manifest that was like their best album to The Catalyst one of their worst.
Nightwish-Yesterwynde
The Cure album sounds like The Cure lol
You're getting scolded for not listening the new Officiam Triste and The Cure
I found out knocked loose excist that hurt me physically and emotionally
Rotting Christ and as much as it pains me to say it, God Dethroned, let me down BIG time. I was so excited only to end up with two steaming piles of sh*t lol.

Also, the new Cure album is fantastic, you should definitely check it out!
I wouldn't recommend From Zero it's not terrible but kinder mid and boring
A lot of dumb opinions here but I guess, that's the point
pay ee sahj dee vair
Gay area… lol
that's what I'll call them now
@necro6666
😆
Blood Incantation is the most overated album of the past 10 years.
In. Qui. Sition. Horrible production, unmemorable riffs, just lame.
why are people still listening to that band? Supporting a known CP enjoyer...
@@manfredmar I will listen to whatever I want, and I will listen to the music with adblockers or offline.
Opeths new album is not that good and way over rated growls are back but still average ,
How. Dare. You!!! hahahaha.
Kidding, but I disagree with you. I think it's great!
Gets much better on repeated listens, probably album of the year.
