Avmakt - Satanic Inversion of.... Should definitely make the list in the S tier, basically its the true Darkthrone album we needed. If you haven't listened to it, give it a chance
The last Horna song on the album Kuoleva Lupaus is folk reimagination of 2005 classic from Estaavgne album.

Hello, in my humble opinion the "G" works were Wolve's Winter, Sur Austru, Aquilus and Akhlys, then the "A": Seth, Kanonenfieber, Oranzi Pazzuzu, Selbst, Gaerea and Spectral Wound. Greetings from Argentina. Great ranking.
Spectral Wound is 100% my favourite of the year. It’s absolutely flawless.
Some folks here mentioned Avmakt, Selbst & Cistvaen. I agree with them. Another criminally overlooked album is Modern Rites - Endless
the Cistvaen album was great, not familiar with the other 2
Modern rites is great, try Coldcell and Sørgelig.

I think I’ll put Alcest in a Blackgaze sub genre category but yeah it was different and still cool for being girlfriend black metal lol. My favourite bm album of the year is Selbst - Despondency Chord Progressions and the Amiensus double album (which is so progressive it's fine not putting it on a bm list, but no excuses for not having Selbst here!)
All 3 should be on here. He must be shamed.
A band who released an album this year that wasn't perfect but showed a lot of promise, in my opinion, was Perchta. It feels like when it works it's excellent, but it didn't always come off. The ingredients are there though and I can't wait to see what they do next.
Hulder’s “Verses in Oath” is a masterpiece. Best album to come out in 2024 and one of the best black metal releases in the last 20 years

Check the Severoth album By The Way Of Light. Is an absolute masterpiece. Great video man!

Maybe I missed something, but the clean vocal is also on the album Dy'th Requiem For The Serpent Telepath. 2024 album from Esoctrilihum sounds just as cool to me as Dy'th.

A couple you have missed but I think you do like. Vemod - The Deepening is a fantastic album from start to finish. Also, Solbrud - IIII is wonderful if a little bloated.

I think you hit everything I really enjoyed from this year except Djevel, Wormwitch, Krallice, Abigor, Wormwood, and Kerasfora
Black Curse's new album came out of nowhere for me so I was hella excited for it. B does fit though as a placement, their entire sound changed from a blackened death band to another doomy death metal band and sadly songs just didnt feel as unique as the ones on the first album.
Black funeral album is the best for me
Beside dodsrit, I loved the Askalapha and avmakt releases this year
Ones you forgot that are great are Gaerea, Winterfylleth, Psychonaut 4 and Cistvaen

@Hellenicheavymetal the last 4 years have been better each year. Since 2021 I've said the phrase "this was an amazing year for metal releases and somehow even better than last year" haha. Every year I keep saying it and I have no idea how it keeps getting better.
@@Oldy-Sepulchre A lot of people loved last year but for me it goes 2024 > 2022 > 2021 > 2023 > 2020. Of course good stuff comes out every year so there are no truly bad years. Just years I like more than others.
@@Hellenicheavymetal can I ask how many albums you listened to in 2023? Because it's baffling that 2023 is so low.
Kanonenfieber isn't black metal its blackened death metal, Noise said so himself. Not that it matters😂

@@Questformetal There are so many killer black metal albums released each year it's impossible to keep up with it all. Make sure you check out Barrow Lord, they're one of yours, a multi-instrumentalist from Wales and his mate from Bristol on vocals. And don't sleep on Old Forest, their new one's the best British black metal I've heard in years. And lemme ask you, does everyone tell you that you look like that Shaun of the Dead dude? Dead fkn ringer.

my favorites I've heard so far are Trijumf, Rostorchester, Звёздный Храм and Primitive Warfare
I've also been meaning to listen to the Auld Ridge and Triumph, Genus albums this year so those might make it up there as well
Primitive Warfare is the temu version of Antichrist Siegemachines release this year.
I have all of Rotting Christ's full length LPs. This is the first time I was disappointed by them. Sakis released a solo EP in 2023 his project is called "XES". Those tracks should have been on the latest Rotting Christ, they would have reinvigorated the LP. (Pull off the weaker tracks)
Checking this video out to see if any new BM sounds appealing. The genre hasn’t been turning out much that I’ve found interesting the past 12-15 years. Used to be my fav genre…
Esoctrilihum's new album is very interesting, vocals are weird af, which is great, clean vocals are not so bad, especially for BM. Akhlys's first album was masterpiece, super atmospheric, evil and terrifying, new album is good, but boring
