TTI got B36-7 and all of the old U25 and 28B's were cut up so rebuilding 260 was out of the question. At the end 260 was shoving a lot of heavy loads of coal in Maysville Ky power plant and this can be seen on DVD called GE Shortlines in the Southeast from Plets Express.
Like that sound!! Years ago the NYNH&H RR had U25B diesels. It was a pleasure to hear them working a grade with the throttles wide open. Sometimes the exhaust would make a snarling noise when the U25Bs were really working hard.
@jamesk97 I was wondering if I could use some audio from your video for a project of mine. The project would be posted to the public, and you would receive credit for the audio.
FIRE BREATHERS , Always loved the GE U-Boats !
I call it a 12-cylinder symphony orchestra with fireworks. You _gotta_ love it.

I loved every minute of that!!

They have that CHOK A BLOCK sound to them .
The PITTSBURGH & LAKE ERIE railroad ran the U-25B's also .
They would have fire coming out of the stacks !
Watch 3:50, backfire flames coming out of the chimney, what a great sight!!
Unlikely this is the first time these two units ran together...the U28B was originally CBQ 114.
3:54 omg
Thats what they are known for . Gotta Love It !
Pleasure to my ears...mmm that chug!
Great sound for a GE FDL-16.....
please, i need more! what a great angle!
You can give me these ge locomotives any day!I like them.

3:52 🔥🔥
Load-test? As in testing for a full load of soot in the engine?
Oh man my eyes are burnin'!!😛
1:16 The Trolley Department Disliked This Video
surprised parts were missing-the IRM can't find someone to give them gome 'grids for the u28.
note this was about 2 months after they got the unit.
@@NS6677 thank you for the info.
Were those flames towards the end? Wonder what that tapping noise was.
They'll shoot a little fire out the stack sometimes. Even the AC44's did that. The noise is simply 4-cycle raw power.
@@UnionThugg I think that every "tap tap tap" that we hear is all of the cylinders restarting the 4 stroke cycle over and over again
@@ellisjackson3355 which is exactly what I said.
@@UnionThugg good for you

What A Raucous !
Oh good thing! I thought there were none left except for the questionable whereabouts of VLIX 1616.
1616 is at SARM. That's a U25B, this is a U28B.
It's with the W65BJAG.
Don't they only have B36-7s now?
😉👍
That's jet fuel lol
