Taking a walk around Green Bay and Western 2407, an Alco RSD15 with a 16-cylinder 251B engine, Milwaukee Road 760, a Fairbanks Morse H10-44 with a 38D8-1/8 6-Cylinder Opposed Piston engine, and Minnesota Transfer 200, an Alco RS3 with a 12-cylinder 244H engine.

A walk-around of the engine room in BN3 (EMD E9Am) at the Illinois Railway Museum. You'll see the two 12-645CE prime movers rated at 1,200 horsepower each, and the Cummins KTA19 inline 6 cylinder that power the 530KVA HEP alternator.

Here is a front view of the Illinois Railway Museum's CNW 411 pulling the bilevels pacing Metra 90 and Metra 104 pulling the APPRCO private car train on September 6th, 2022. This is from the museums east end of track at Kishwaukee Grove to Olson Road where both trains made a stop at the road to transfer passengers.

Here's a sped up video (2000%) of us picking up rail along the railroad today at the Illinois Railway Museum. We paused for a quick storm that rolled through. This shows about an hour and a half worth of work in just under 5 minutes.

On May 29th, 2016, Frisco 1630 pulls 135 empties, 2900 tons and 7200 feet long, from the east end of the railroad to Schmidt Siding. Part 2 is from Karsten's crossing to Schmidt. This was to deliver the storage cars to the Union Pacific at the interchange at the far west end of IRM's 5 mile mainline.

Are you on a freight train or passenger train?
Like that sound!! Years ago the NYNH&H RR had U25B diesels. It was a pleasure to hear them working a grade with the throttles wide open. Sometimes the exhaust would make a snarling noise when the U25Bs were really working hard.
